Chapter 662 is late

Pan pursed her lips. She had thought about this for many days. If she wanted to continue the marriage, she wouldn't go back to her parents' home. No matter how she looked at it, the Zhao family was a pit of fire, and there was no hope for the future.

More importantly, she would have to bear the burden of not having children for the rest of her life, and the Zhao family would never admit that Dazhu was incapable.

The only choice for a daughter-in-law is Pan; there's no other option.

"Dad, I don't want to live like this anymore. There's no hope left, really."

The old man understood his daughter's meaning perfectly well; there was indeed no hope. As for her family, well, not a single one of them was kind-hearted.

“Since you’re determined to turn against us, I’ll go and call your brother over to discuss this. We absolutely cannot let the Zhao family continue to bully you.”

Pan knelt down and kowtowed three times to her parents. "Father and Mother, you no longer need to bow your heads when you go out. If anyone in the village goesssips, just talk back. It's the Zhao family who have wronged us that your daughter can have children."

The old woman covered her mouth, thinking that she used to be quite feisty, but because of her daughter, she seemed to have lost her backbone and no longer dared to argue with anyone.

It all comes down to having a child.

"Alright, alright, we don't need to take the blame for the Zhao family's sins. Old woman, go and call our son and daughter-in-law in so we can all discuss this together."

"Hey!"

The Pan family members, neglecting breakfast, crowded into the main room to discuss Pan's future and whether she would remarry if she divorced.

To the old man's surprise, his sons all agreed that their daughter should divorce, saying that she was treated like a slave in the Zhao family and that she might still be treated like a slave if she remarried. The only difference was that she would have her own child and would have some hope.

Everyone thought that Ms. Pan should get a divorce.

They were utterly fed up with the Zhao family; they were despicable and unreasonable. Even their daughter-in-law thought they should get a divorce. Everyone knew how Pan Shi had been living.

While the Pan family was still discussing countermeasures in a heated discussion, Zhao Dayong arrived with his men.

"Father-in-laws, what brings you here?"

Old Man Pan acted as if nothing had happened; he just wanted to see what the Pan family would say.

Da Zhuzi saw that Pan Shi, who was standing in the room, was glaring at him. She had better keep her mouth shut, or she shouldn't blame him for being ruthless.

"Oh dear, didn't the young couple have a fight last night? The daughter-in-law went back to her parents' home without saying goodbye this morning. We were worried that something might happen to her on the way, so we came to check on her."

It's good that everyone's alright, it's good that everyone's alright. Young people are just so hot-tempered; they'll run off as soon as they argue or get angry.

Old Pan frowned. They were still trying to pin the blame on his daughter. The Zhao family was utterly shameless.

Why aren't they guilty?

"Really? I heard that's not the case. I know my daughter. She's hardworking and kind, and she always swallows her grievances. You know how she's been living in your family these past few years, and we know even better."

Everyone in your village says Dazhuzi married a capable wife who does all the housework by herself. What does he do besides wander around the village? He probably doesn't even bother bending down to bend over if a bowl falls, right?

Li's face turned pale and her heart sank even further. She was too late; Pan and her family had already told her everything.

Why does that brat have such a sharp tongue?

Does she think she has a face if her man has no face?

Dazhuzi wasn't stupid either; he instantly understood what his father-in-law meant. No wonder everyone looked at him strangely when he came in.

An indescribable sense of embarrassment almost made him turn and run away. That bitch, he wanted to die looking at her!

You love to talk, don't you? You love gossiping, don't you? Let's go home and poison her mute, then see what she can say.

It's his fault for being too kind-hearted; he should have just silenced her long ago. Not only would she not have been able to escape, but his secret would never have been known to anyone for the rest of his life.

Parents can definitely keep their feelings to themselves forever.

Da Zhuzi was filled with shame and anger, but also endless regret.

Pan saw the murderous intent in his eyes and hid behind her elder brother in fright. She was afraid she couldn't go back to the Zhao family; if she did, she would be doomed.

Now they have essentially broken off relations with the Zhao family.

"Isn't your Zhao family being a bit too bullying? You pin everything on my daughter. Don't you know why she went back to her parents' house so early this morning? What's the meaning of keeping an eye on her these days, not even letting her leave the house? What did she do wrong?"

Zhao Dayong suppressed his anger, "What are you saying, in-law? How could we possibly stop her from going anywhere? She just had a fight with Dazhuzi. They're both angry right now, so they're bound to say some nice things. Just listen to what the child said."

"Are you saying my daughter is talking nonsense?"

"No, I think it's better for the young couple to handle their own affairs. We adults shouldn't get involved. What do you think?"

Old Man Pan didn't want to see Zhao Dayong's hypocritical behavior at all. What did he say before? After being married for so long and still not having a child, the fact that his son was still keeping his daughter was because he was a good person and loyal.

What the hell is this about being so devoted? He can't even grow seedlings himself, yet he blames the land for being bad. This is the first time he's ever seen anything like it.

People really do have to be shameless. Look at the Zhao family, they've managed to get by for so many years by being shameless.

“In-law, I remember you once told me that if my daughter couldn’t produce offspring for your family, you would eventually not tolerate her, right?”

Zhao Dayong didn't know how to respond. He used to think it was Pan's problem, but since she had a problem, it was only a matter of time before Dazhuzi divorced her.

“My in-laws are mistaken. I used to say that no matter whether she has children or not, Pan is a good daughter-in-law of my family. As long as she and Dazhu are happy together, we don’t have to force her to have children.”

hehe!

Could this person be any more shameless?

Da Zhu stared at Pan Shi with a sinister look; he had lost all face and dignity today.

Thanks to her, he has become a laughing stock today.

"Alright, there's nothing more to hide. Let's sit down and discuss the two children."

Don't try to pin all the bad things on my daughter. Everyone knows the truth of the matter.

I've had enough of the grievances and the work these past few years; it's unreasonable that even going back to my parents' home is wrong now.

“My dear in-laws, you’re too kind. There’s no such thing as her not being able to visit her parents’ home. We’d love for her to come back often. You can ask her, when have we ever stopped her from going back to her parents’ home? When have we ever told her to bring back some gifts to show our filial piety?”

Madam Pan couldn't stand it anymore. Could her father-in-law possibly stop making things up?

“Father, I never knew you told me to bring more things. I only heard Mother say that I only care about my maternal family and don’t care about my own little family at all.”

"I always think about bringing everything I have back home, I've never thought about being filial to you, and you even say I'm too idealistic."

Zhao Dayong's face turned pale. Did the Pan family think they could turn the world upside down?

Which daughter-in-law would talk back to her father-in-law like that?

Is it wrong to say she's unfilial?
