"Who in the whole village doesn't know?"
Madam Song was utterly speechless. Of course, if she knew this, how could her daughter not know? She glanced at her sister-in-law with admiration; she was probably the only one who would hit her own husband. In any case, she couldn't bring herself to do it.
Zhao Dashu leaned back in his chair, watching his grandson playing on the cushion.
"Xiaoyu, do you think Big Brother might have been kidnapped?"
The Song family was terrified!
Zhao Xiaoyu was speechless.
Why do you all think that way?
"Otherwise, why can't we find them? The prefectural city is big, but it's not that small either. We've asked everyone at the academy and searched the surrounding area, but we still can't find them, father and son."
Something's not right here. Maybe Big Brother and the others have already been...” Zhao Dashu made a throat-slitting gesture. “And then they just dig a hole somewhere, where are we supposed to find them? Right?”
Zhao Xiaoyu was impressed; the couple was really resourceful, otherwise how could they possibly share a bed?
"Dad, look at your sister-in-law's teeth-gritting face. Uncle will be buried alive? Forget it, he's the one who should be burying the body."
Where is that person?
Where did you find these people?
"In the city!" They were in the prefectural city, so they were looking for someone there.
Zhao Xiaoyu pondered, resting her chin on her hand. "I think, Dad, you could look in the suburbs. Uncle is a real cheapskate; he might choose a place in the suburbs where tuition is cheaper."
After all, the academy in the suburbs wasn't bad either, at least it was better than his.
Zhao Dashu: ...My daughter makes a lot of sense!
"Alright, I'll send someone to look for it right away."
He stood up and summoned the butler outside to get things done quickly.
Zhao Xiaoyu was right this time; news of Zhao Dawen arrived just one day later.
"Sister-in-law, we've found my brother."
"Where?"
"The academy is located in the suburbs. They rented a small courtyard nearby."
"Take me there quickly," Wang said hurriedly.
Her beloved youngest son got up as well.
"Third Uncle, how are Father and the others?"
Zhao Dashu shrugged. "The servants didn't say anything bad about them, so they must be alright."
He only told people to look for him, and didn't tell them to ask anything else. What did it matter to him whether his brother was alright or not? As long as the person was still breathing, that was enough.
Wang got into the car, and Zhao Dashu followed.
Zhao Xiaoyu thought for a moment, "Mom, Grandpa Qian, we have nothing to do at home anyway, why don't we go and take a look?" As she spoke, she handed the child to the servants, "You all stay here and take good care of the young master."
She even abandoned her child to gossip. She didn't dare take him along, fearing a fight might break out and negatively impact his development.
Old Man Qian stood up. "Let's go take a look."
Since I'm just killing time anyway, I might as well go and see what Zhao Dawen is up to in the prefectural city. He hasn't even come home.
The academy wasn't far from their home, about a half-hour drive. It was only then that everyone realized that Zhao Dawen and his son had always lived nearby.
Wow, he's really something, living so close yet never running into each other.
If it weren't for the fact that the house belonged to Zhao Dashu, Wang Shi would have already grabbed a knife and gone over there. Zhao Jiadong, his face tense, stood to the side, not daring to speak. He hoped his father and elder brother could give them a decent explanation later, otherwise his mother was afraid she wouldn't let it go.
He was also unhappy. They had clearly agreed that the whole family would support his older brother's education, but his father was hiding in the prefectural city enjoying a life of luxury.
