Chapter 807 Regret

"Old man, don't push me. Dazhu has already realized his mistake, can't you forgive him? He didn't hit you, so why are you making a scene?"

Zhao Dayong was so angry he almost laughed. So, in the end, he was the one who was wrong?

"Shut up! I'm the one who makes the decisions in our family. Today, I'm cutting ties with him, and nobody can stop me."

"Can you please not go crazy?"

"If you can't bear to leave him, you can go with him."

Zhao Dayong finally realized that his eldest and third sons were more important than him. If his wife wanted to leave, so be it; he could just live with his daughter.

No one is indispensable.

She's gone; maybe he'll live two more years.

"What did you say?"

"I'm saying I'm severing ties with Dazhu. If you don't want to, you can live with the eldest son."

But Li Chunhua. Don't blame me for not warning you, once you step out of Zhao Dayong's door, don't even think about coming back.

The people inside were terrified and didn't understand why the couple had started fighting amongst themselves. They hadn't even dealt with Dazhu yet, and the two of them were already fighting.

The clan chief gave Zhao Dayong a disapproving look. Cutting ties with relatives was fine, but he shouldn't have driven his wife away as well.

She could tell that Zhao Dayong's health wasn't very good. Li kept her nephew around; at least he'd have someone to help him and someone to care for him.

If Li leaves, he and a young girl will be left at home. After all, the girl is still young, what can she do?

Li bit her lip, her face ashen. She hadn't expected Zhao Dayong to dare to kick her out in front of so many people.

After being married for many years, she knew the old man was serious this time.

"It's all my fault, no matter what. I asked the girl to take care of the eldest brother. It's all my fault that something happened. I knew she would get beaten if she went to the old house, but I just thought a few slaps wouldn't matter. I was wrong, okay? Can I apologize to you?"

"At worst, I'll never let her work at the old house again; I'll do it myself, okay?"

Li felt that she had already compromised and given in, and Zhao Dayong should give her a way out.

Is it really worth him getting so angry over a little girl? The older the old man gets, the more problems he has.

"Don't give me any more nonsense. Today, we must break off all ties with him. There's no room for discussion."

It's infuriating to think about. I've hardly ever been hit by my father in my entire life, yet my son keeps hitting me. Yesterday he hit him, today he hits my daughter. Who does he think he is?

Heavenly King Laozi?

“What will he do if you cut him off? Dazhu doesn’t even have a wife or children now. Are you really going to abandon him?” Li shouted hoarsely.

"I don't care what the hell I do with this kind of unfilial son. Let him do whatever he wants in the future, it has nothing to do with me."

What difference does it make whether he has children or not? Do you think he can raise his own kid well? It's better not to have a child than to ruin them.

Li was shocked and furious. She rushed over and slapped Zhao Dayong several times, yelling, "What nonsense are you spouting?"

“I’m not talking nonsense, Li Chunhua. I’m thinking this through better than anyone else. You can acknowledge this son if you want, but I don’t want him.”

Damn it, just thinking about it makes me want to vomit.

Zhao Dayong had completely given up hope; he wouldn't care what Dazhu did anymore.

So what if he doesn't have a wife? Marrying one would just mean he'd cause trouble for other families. It's even better if he doesn't have a son; what kind of person could he possibly raise?

It's better not to harm one person after another.

"Old man!"

Zhao Dayong turned his head away and ignored her, but the tightness in his neck told Li that his mind was made up and there was no room for discussion.

No one inside offered any help in persuading them; Zhao Dawen and his wife were too shocked. One wave of people had come throughout the day, each one's words and actions leaving them reeling.

Zhao Dashu thought his second brother had done the right thing. Why keep such a heartless person around? It would be better to get rid of him sooner rather than later.

As for the clan chief, he thought the same as Zhao Dashu: he had no patience left for Dazhuzi and didn't believe he could change for the better.

Only Li was jumping around frantically, her face full of resentment, trying to salvage the situation.

Da Zhuzi slowly raised his head, looking intently at Zhao Dayong with a half-smile.

"Are you sure you really want to sever ties with me?" The words were laced with threat.

Zhao Xiaoyu couldn't help but glance at him; even at this point, he was still trying to act tough. When did her cousin become so arrogant?

It's been years since I last saw him, and he's certainly grown bolder. No wonder he dared to hit my second uncle. My cousin now looks even worse than the thugs I've seen in my past life; who is he trying to scare with that creepy look?

He thought that by acting arrogant and powerful, others would be afraid of him?

"Yes, I'm cutting all ties with you, completely severing all ties. From now on, I'll pretend I never had a son like you. Dazhu, you'd better watch yourself."

After severing ties with his family, he never wanted to see him again in his life.

Zhao Dayong's face grew increasingly pale. He clutched his chest, coughed a few times, and then breathed heavily.

It's his fault for not raising his son well, and it's also Li's fault. It can't be changed now, so let's just give up.

That's what he said, but he's loved his son for over twenty years, and he can't just give up on him like that. His heart is aching terribly right now.

Regret, endless regret enveloped him!

If he had known this would happen, he would have taught his three brothers properly back then and would never have spoken carelessly in front of them.

There's no going back in life. Just like how Dad regretted letting his third son leave home until his death, some things, once done, cannot be changed.
