Old Mrs. Sun was extremely satisfied.
"Why are you all here? What happened? Where are the two girls?"
“We came to see you. Didn’t you say yesterday that you were lonely and wanted some company? We discussed it and figured since we’re hibernating now and there’s nothing major going on at home, we decided to come and keep you company. We’ll go home for the New Year. Are you happy, Mom?”
Old Mrs. Sun was baffled. Her unfilial son had suddenly become filial and started caring about her?
"Fine, you can stay if you want, as long as you don't make me angry."
"I definitely wouldn't dare."
Before the meal was ready, the doctor took her pulse after she finished washing up.
"The doctor arrived very early today."
"Yes, Madam, are you feeling unwell anywhere today?"
Old Mrs. Sun didn't know how to put it; it seemed like she didn't feel uncomfortable anywhere, but it also seemed like she didn't feel comfortable anywhere either.
"It feels boring."
"Then take a rest."
The doctor couldn't do anything about it; all he could do now was to make sure she didn't suffer too much before she passed away.
A servant from the Zhao family arrived carrying a large food box, which contained not only steamed buns and chicken soup wontons, but also an extra portion of silver thread rolls.
"So exquisite."
Li blurted it out.
No wonder my mother-in-law couldn't stop craving it after eating it. She couldn't resist wanting to eat it when she saw it. The chicken soup was so fragrant; the whole room was filled with its aroma when it was opened. Even Zhao Dawen and Wang Shi couldn't help but sniff it.
They hadn't eaten yet when they got up early in the morning, and they were quite hungry.
Old Mrs. Sun's eyes lit up; she had been craving this for a long time. The last time she had it was when her third son came home, several years ago.
“Bring it to me.”
Everyone watched her eat, even the doctor was curious, wondering why she still had an appetite at this moment.
Sure enough, not long after, Old Mrs. Sun threw down her chopsticks with a sullen face.
"It's too greasy, please cook me a bowl of plain porridge."
There was white porridge in the kitchen, and upon hearing this, Huang quickly went to get some.
The old woman herself found it strange, "Why don't I have any appetite? These things look so delicious."
Everyone inside was speechless.
I knew in my heart that it was all over. The old lady couldn't eat anymore. Even when she was seriously ill, she still had a good appetite, but she couldn't eat anymore. This was the first time I could remember my mother saying that food was greasy and that she couldn't eat it.
It seems like this really won't work!
"You can take these and eat them, don't waste them."
The older generation, including their own, finds wasting food the most unacceptable thing.
"Okay, Mom, I'll feed you porridge."
When the porridge arrived, Zhao Dawen took it and tried to feed his mother. He carefully blew on it and fed her spoonful by spoonful, but Old Sun felt that something was amiss.
Before he could even take a couple of bites of porridge, Zhao Xiaoyu and Xiao Lei arrived. A little while later, the second son's children also arrived. After a couple more bites, the eldest son's children and wife also arrived.
Old Mrs. Sun couldn't eat anymore and was extremely flustered. Something was wrong!
Why does he look so much like the old man when he was sick?
"Mother, have some more."
I only ate a little less than half a bowl of porridge; my mother used to eat at least three bowls.
The white rice porridge smelled delicious, and Zhao Dawen swallowed hard; he was really hungry.
Old Mrs. Sun pushed away the spoon in front of her. "Tell me, what's wrong with me? Why are you all coming so often?"
