Zhao Xiaoyu sneered, "They can't even come up with a better excuse to wrong her child."
"Seven Joy, tell your mother if you did it or not."
“I let her go, but she deserved it. She cursed you and your grandmother in the latrine and wished you would die soon.”
"You're talking nonsense!" Li screamed, struggling to stand up, but her body was wet and sticky, and she was so angry and anxious that she almost slipped and fell again. She was indeed cursing in the latrine, but who the hell would have thought that the brat was hiding outside eavesdropping.
Seeing how well they were dressed, how could she not feel resentment? What's wrong with hurling a few insults?
"I farted?! You're the one spewing filth!" Zhao Qixi was young, but his aura was in no way inferior. He puffed out his little chest, and I could hear him clearly from behind the outhouse!
You said my mother was "so great because she has a few stinking coins," and that my maternal grandmother was "an old hag with boundless favoritism," and even said... and that "why didn't she just drown when she fell into the river? She'd be a better sight!" You even called our whole family heartless jinxes! Dare you say you didn't say those things?!
As soon as Zhao Qixi said this, the courtyard became so quiet you could hear a pin drop.
Zhao Dashu and Song Shi's faces instantly turned ashen. Xiao Lei's eyes flashed with a sharp glint.
Everyone recalled the events of that year.
Li's thoughts were exposed, her eyes darted around in panic, yet she remained defiant, "You...you little brat, you're talking nonsense! When...when did I say that? What proof do you have?!"
Zhao Dayong originally wanted to seek justice for his wife, but he didn't expect this to happen.
Erzhuzi was furious. "Mother, do you know what you're saying?"
Li bit her lip. She was already in such a state, and her son not only didn't help her but even dared to question her. What an unfilial son!
Li screamed at Erzhuzi, "Look at you! You've worked for your third uncle for a few years and now you think you're something special? You even dare to lecture your mother? If I hadn't given birth to you, would you be where you are today?! People treat you like a dog!"
Erzhuzi was so angry at his mother's words that he trembled all over and his face turned ashen.
"Second sister-in-law, what have we done to offend you? We're still being cursed by you. What has Xiaoyu done to offend you?"
“I never said that. You believe what a little kid says? She just got into trouble and is afraid of getting beaten, so she's making up nonsense to frame me.”
Zhao Dashu's face darkened completely. "I know my granddaughter very well."
"Second brother, what do you have to say about this?"
Zhao Dayong glanced at his wife, his forehead veins bulging with anger. "Second brother apologizes to you. Your second sister-in-law has no sense of propriety. Don't take it to heart, just let it go like a fart."
"Look at her covered in poop now, that's enough of a punishment. But third brother, even if you think I'm being nosy, I still have to say this: the child is too young to play with firecrackers. Have you forgotten how some kids have blinded themselves with them?"
Zhao Dashu felt a chill run down his spine.
The children shuddered; they were doomed, they were going to get a beating!
Li was furious. She was so scared that she fell into the pit and was now covered in filth. Now her husband had to apologize to them. Was there no justice left?
Just because they're rich?
Li cried bitterly.
Where did the firecrackers come from?
Erzhuzi's daughter raised her hand, her big eyes showing a hint of panic, "Mine, I brought it back from the county town."
"Where did you get this?" Guo remembered that she had never bought it for her. Why would she buy something so expensive for her to play with casually?
"We didn't finish setting off all the firecrackers last year, so you guys left them to set off this year. I was thinking of playing with my younger siblings when I came back; firecrackers are the most fun thing to do at home..."
Zhao Xiaoyu covered her head. She could tell that Erzhuzi's daughter was no pushover either; she was quite a troublemaker.
Looking at the two boys standing quietly to the side, her head ached even more. It seemed that the Zhao family was out of balance, with the girls being wilder than the boys.
Zhao Dashu didn't know what to do, so he looked at Zhao Xiaoyu.
Guo was furious. When she got home, she was determined to beat her up. That brat was causing trouble!
(Since everyone dislikes the little girl, I'll write less starting tomorrow!)
