It has been a year and a half since I was diagnosed with a herniated disc last year. I never thought I would fight this disease for so long. In fact, I felt that I was almost recovered in the second half of 2023. I wanted to find a job. Writing novels doesn't earn much money and it's not a long-term solution. But my dad was in a car accident in September, which disrupted my plans. The month I spent taking care of him and the more than half a month of autumn harvest successfully caused my herniated disc to relapse!
My long-time readers should know that I took a month off from updating. The reason for the break was that I was taking care of my father in the hospital. Later, I went home to harvest corn and rice. Due to health and family reasons, I was considering giving up. However, seeing everyone's comments and urging for updates kept me going. Although there were few positive reviews and urgings for updates, your words were my motivation to continue.
I've also seen a lot of your complaints. Once things have settled down with my father, I'll reread the novel and make some changes based on your feedback, including but not limited to those about my poor punctuation.

My next book is already in the works and may be released later because I have to go back to the village to fight the lawsuit against the person who hit my dad. I need to get a disability assessment and find a lawyer. I've never done this before. Actually, I thought of many endings for this novel. I've seen some people think it's wrong for the female lead to abandon the male lead and leave, feeling that she has no feelings for him. But I want to say that Lin Ru is a very opinionated person. Even though she has come to understand the seven emotions and six desires in this world and experienced true feelings that she doesn't have outside, her life goal is still to ascend to immortality. In her struggle with the Heavenly Dao, she can vaguely sense that she was brought to this world not just to fulfill the original female lead's last wish. So her departure is also a gamble. The reason I wrote it this way is because I hope that everyone will not be easily swayed by emotions in their daily lives. As long as you stick to yourself, keep moving towards your goals, and continuously improve yourself, more and better people will naturally come to be with you, instead of changing yourself for the sake of so-called love.
