Chapter 106 Liberation of Vietnam (02) Yamashita Tomoyuki leads three army corps to attack the National League Army

June 21, 1941.

Headquarters of the 5th Division in Indochina, Hanoi.

At this moment, it was already dark, and a torrential downpour began.

The entire city was shrouded in deep darkness.

But inside the headquarters, the lights were on all the time.

In a spacious conference room, representatives from the Sakura Kingdom, Hans, and the Gallic Rooster gathered.

Their eyes were all fixed on the huge map on the table, and each of them wore a solemn expression.

This map, jointly drawn by Japan and France, marks the areas controlled by the National League for Democracy (NLD) in northwestern Vietnam.

Among those attending the meeting was Lieutenant General Tomoyuki Yamashita, the newly appointed Supreme Commander of the Japanese Army stationed in Vietnam.

- Lieutenant General Akito Nakamura, commander of the 5th Division.

- Lieutenant General Takeo Fujioka, commander of the 44th Division.

- Lieutenant General Shota Yoshida, commander of the 55th Division.

- Lieutenant General Naoki Matsui, commander of the 72nd Division.

- Major General Yoshio Sano, Commander of the 34th Brigade.

- Major General Hisaharu Ishimoto, commander of the 49th Brigade.

- Major General Takuma Kimura, commander of the 53rd Brigade.

- Lieutenant General Kappei Kawaguchi, commander of the 4th Tank Division.

- Colonel Yukishi Matsubara, commander of the 37th Flight Wing.

- Major General Helmut von Stein, commander of the 121st Infantry Division of the Hans.

- Lieutenant General Cardo Arnault, Governor-General of the Gallic Rooster.

- Lieutenant General Antoine Beaumont, Commander of the French Army in Vietnam.

- Major General Malraux Alexander, Commander of the Hanoi-Tokyo Division of the Gallic Rooster.

- Major General Pierre Leblanc, Commander of the Saigon-Annam Division of the Gallic Rooster.

- Major General Kamey Gaylad, Commander of the Cambodian Division in Phnom Penh.

- In addition, Major General Kenji Sato, commander of the 9th Brigade, Major General Nobuo Ogasawara, commander of the 21st Brigade, translators, etc.

"Welcome, everyone, to Indochina."

Yamashita Tomoyuki stood up and bowed to everyone.

Then, pointing to the map, he said, "Today I want to introduce you to our opponent—Lin Feng, the leader of the Vietnam National League Army!"

Upon hearing this, everyone present became invigorated.

This person is no ordinary person...

Everyone present, whether from France, Japan, or Germany, had little affection for Lin Feng.

But what he did was admirable!

A guerrilla group declares war on the entire Axis powers?!

Only he would dare to think of such a crazy idea!

"I know you all dislike Lin Feng," Yamashita Tomoyuki said with a smile, glancing around the room. "Actually, I'm not entirely ignorant about him either. This guy does have some ability; otherwise, he wouldn't have led a guerrilla force to provoke the whole world..."

“Nakamura-kun, you’ve fought Lin Feng quite a few times, why don’t you tell everyone about it?” Yamashita Tomoyuki turned to Nakamura Akito.

As the former supreme commander of the Japanese army stationed in Vietnam, he was dismissed by the empire. Even though he was angry inside, he still had to put on a good show.

Upon hearing the order, Nakamura Akito immediately stood up, "Yes, sir!"

Then, after walking up to the map and carefully examining the terrain, Nakamura Akito began to report on the situation.

"Lin Feng, of Vietnamese nationality, once served as a division commander in the North China Field Army of China, but according to information from the North China Front Army, there is no such person."

"There is no such person?"

Yamashita Tomoyuki frowned. "Could it be that this Lin Feng is hiding his true identity?"

"Hi, maybe."

Nakamura Akito nodded. "Although we can't find out Lin Feng's true identity, our informant in the Nationalist Army has sent back an important piece of intelligence: this Lin Feng looks a lot like Chen Ergou, the commander-in-chief of the North China Field Army who suddenly disappeared!"

"What!!!"

A gasp of surprise erupted in the meeting room.

Chen Ergou's deeds had already caused quite a stir in Japan.

They annihilated the entire First Army of the Sakura Nation, severely damaged the main force of the Second Army, and killed more than 130,000 people!

Lieutenant General of the Second Rank in China!

A rising star at twenty!

If, as Nakamura Akito described, Lin Feng is indeed Chen Ergou, then everything makes sense.

but......

Another problem that they had all overlooked has emerged.

A renowned general of China, who failed to reclaim the country, went to Indochina to form a guerrilla force—what kind of nonsense is this?!

This doesn't make sense!

Even if he wanted to come, China wouldn't support his decision.

Yamashita Tomoyuki pondered for a moment and asked, "Nakamura-kun, how confident are you that this Lin Feng is Chen Ergou?"

I'd say I'm about 50% sure.

“We don’t have a photo of Chen Ergou. Even if he appears in the newspaper, his information is only in text. So we have to wait for more detailed information from the North China Front Army to confirm it.”

After a pause, Nakamura Akito added, "However, based on my experience, it should be pretty close!"

"Yoshi."

Yamashita Tomoyuki nodded. "It's a good thing Nakamura-kun mentioned this, otherwise we would have suffered a great loss!"

"yes."

Dolce Arnault, Antoine Beaumont, Helmut von Stein, and others echoed, "We will never allow such a threat to exist in the world."

"Gentlemen, in this attack on the National League for Democracy, I hope everyone will give 200% effort and be sure to destroy and crush the National League for Democracy in one fell swoop!"

"yes!!"

The crowd responded in unison.

Next came a detailed operational meeting.
