Chapter 149 The National League for Democracy (NLD) of North Vietnam Enters Laos

September 22, 1941.

The sun shone brightly that day, its warm rays bathing the earth and casting a golden glow over the world.

In a dense forest in Mengphong, Vientiane Province, Laos, there is a small village called Mengwang Town.

Just as the sun was rising, the people in Mengwang Town were still asleep. In the open space in front of a thatched house at the entrance of the village, several birds fluttered their wings and flew over the eaves, making clear and melodious calls.

Dim light shone through the windows of the thatched house, and wisps of white smoke drifted out from the cracks, filling the entire room.

"Are you telling the truth? The Democratic Alliance of North Vietnam is preparing to use force against Laos?" a middle-aged man asked, sitting on his wooden chair.

His face was pale, and his eyes were sunken, clearly indicating that he had been malnourished for a long time, but his sharp and intelligent eyes were still bright and awe-inspiring.

This man is Kaysone Phomvihane, the captain of the Lao Lhasa Vong guerrilla force. He worked with Ho Chi Minh for a period of time. Without Ho Chi Minh's guidance and help, there probably wouldn't be the Kaysone Phomvihane we know today.

He was a very senior guerrilla leader who had participated in many campaigns against the French and even defeated their army.

"Captain, it's true."

After Suvan Namiti, deputy captain of the Lhasa guerrilla force, finished speaking, he placed two telegrams on the table: "Last night, the National League for Democracy in North Vietnam sent a message saying that they are coming to liberate us."

“As long as we join the National League, not only will this country be handed over to our Lhasa guerrillas, but they will also provide us with all kinds of weapons, equipment, food and supplies.”

"Here is another telegram from Ho Chi Minh, an anti-Vietnam organization in the south. He hopes we can join them to resist the government's rule and take back Vietnam."

Upon hearing these words, Kaysander Fengweihan fell silent, seemingly deep in thought.

The National League for Democracy (NLD) in North Vietnam is now very powerful, and even Japan, France, and the United States are no match for it.

The anti-Vietnam organization has only about 50,000 to 60,000 troops. Although it has the support of the United States, it is weak and unable to shake the rule of the National League for Democracy in North Vietnam. It is just making a death throes.

After a long while, Kaysan Fengweihan looked up at Suwan Namiti and asked, "Suwan, what do you think we should choose?"

"Captain, this matter is of great importance, and I'm unsure what to do, but..."

"But what?"

"As far as I know, the National League for Democracy (NLD), as the leading political party in the Democratic Alliance of Vietnam, has always kept its word. Do you remember Le Van Huy and Nguyen Chi Thanh?"

Suvan Namiti paused for a moment before continuing, "Back when they were with the Indochinese Party, Le Van Huy and Nguyen Chi Thanh were just a small group of seven. But after they joined the National League for Democracy, they transformed into the president and vice president of the Democratic League of Vietnam. They've really risen to prominence!"

Suvan Namiti was not thinking about the guerrillas as a whole, but about himself.

If Kayssan Fong Wee Han becomes president with the support of the National League for Democracy, wouldn't he be the vice president?

Thinking of this, Suvan Namiti couldn't help but smile.

"Yes, your analysis makes a lot of sense. We do need to consider this carefully."

Kaysan Phong Wai Han nodded, his expression somewhat grave: "However, joining the National League is tantamount to becoming a puppet in disguise. Just look at Le Van Huy and Nguyen Chi Sau to see what I mean."

"Although they are the president and vice president of a country, they don't even have control over the military. This is undoubtedly adding insult to injury for us."

Upon hearing this, Suvan Namiti disagreed, saying, "Captain, you can't just look at the surface and ignore the essence. Our guerrillas' original goal was to overthrow the French colonial rule, establish a country that belongs to our own people, and let the people live a good life."

“Look at the people in northern Vietnam, what kind of life do they lead every day? They have food to eat, fields to cultivate, and houses to live in. And look at us? We can only hide like stray dogs.”

"Yes, we are like stray dogs."

Kayssan Fengweihan sighed, "You're absolutely right."

"Captain, what else should we be considering?"

“If we don’t agree to join the National League for Democracy, they will find someone else to replace us.”

Suvan Namiti raised an eyebrow. “Instead of waiting to die, we might as well join them first, and then find another opportunity to break free from their control once the situation stabilizes.”

“That’s right.” Kaysan Fengweihan nodded in agreement. “In that case, let’s join the Democratic League together.”

"yes!"

Suvan Namiti stood up straight, chest out and stomach in.

He was secretly overjoyed. The Vice President!

I'll be the vice president soon!

Ha ha! ! !

………………………………

On the evening of September 24, 1941.

Banlu Village, north of Sangnu.

This is a fairly large village located less than three kilometers from Son La province in the Democratic Alliance of Vietnam.

Previously, it was colonized by the French. Later, after the National League for Democracy (NLD) of North Vietnam annihilated the main force of the French in Sam Nu, it withdrew its troops, and the area became a no-man's-land.

At this moment, Kayssen Fengweihan and Suwan Namiti were leading thousands of guerrillas in eager anticipation.

"Captain, they're here!"

With the rumble of tanks and trucks, the National League for Democracy (NLD) of North Vietnam came into view.

"Look, it's a tank!!"

"Holy crap, they even have cannons!!!"

"No wonder they were able to annihilate the Japanese invaders; their weaponry is so superior!!!"
