Chapter 154 Thailand's 600,000-strong army mobilizes in full force

October 21, 1941.

At the instigation of Ho Chi Minh and Liang Minghua, Thai Prime Minister Luang Por Boon Somkham ordered the Royal Thai Army to continuously incite conflict along the border.

They even went so far as to say that they do not recognize the Lao Democratic Alliance and the Cambodian Democratic Alliance, claiming that these are puppet governments established by the Vietnamese government to control the two countries.

Luang Bo Van Song Kham's remarks quickly garnered sympathy from the international community, who came forward to condemn the Vietnamese government.

This infuriated Lin Feng.

"He aimed!"

"Give him a few days to barely survive, and he's already getting too cocky!"

Lin Feng said angrily, tearing a newspaper to shreds and throwing it on the ground.

Upon seeing this, Wang Lichen, who was sitting on the sofa listening to the radio, quickly got up and picked up the newspaper: "Chairman, calm down! Be careful your blood pressure doesn't rise."

"snort!"

Lin Feng snorted coldly: "You dare to shit and piss on my neck? Do you really think I'm a pushover?"

"What are you going to do, Chairman?" Wang Lichen asked.

"Retaliation."

Lin Feng sneered and said, "Since they're so eager to play, I'll play along with them!"

So, an order was issued.

The General Headquarters of the National League for Democracy (NLD) Army in North Vietnam received orders to immediately assemble at the borders of Laos and Cambodia in preparation for retaliatory action against the Thai army!

...

Meeting room at the Royal Thai Army Headquarters, Khon Kaen Province, Thailand.

After reading the documents in his hand, Commander General Ba Song Charoen Phrom paused for a moment, then looked up at the generals standing at the conference table and asked, "The National League for Democracy in North Vietnam is already making large-scale troop movements to the border. What are your thoughts on this?"

“General Ba Song, according to our reports, the National League for Democracy in North Vietnam has assembled eight armies, totaling over 200,000 men. In terms of troop strength, they don’t even have half of ours. So, I don’t think we need to worry,” an aide said.

Another deputy staff officer nodded in agreement, saying, "General, I also agree with the chief of staff. As long as the NTD Army in North Vietnam dares to fire the first shot and provoke us, then we can annihilate them without any scruples and with a legitimate reason."

Basong Charonpong nodded, then looked at Ho Chi Minh and Liang Minh Hua, who were sitting to his left from the anti-Vietnam organization.

After exchanging a glance, Hu Zhiming and Liang Minghua spoke first: "General, before the enemy has fully assembled, I suggest we directly attack Laos and Cambodia to recover Vietnam."

Upon hearing this, Pasong Charoenpong narrowed his eyes and slowly shook his head, saying, "Although this approach is simple and crude, it is very risky. As you know, Thailand is a powerful country in the Southeast Asian peninsula. If we send troops without a pretext, we will probably be criticized by the international community."

I'll throw it at you!

And they even criticized it!

Why didn't you criticize them when they were stealing other people's territory before?

Liang Minghua cursed under his breath and continued to advise, "General, have you considered this? The current Vietnamese government is on the rise and its momentum is unstoppable. In addition, Laos and Cambodia are both colonies of the Vietnamese government. If we give them enough time to grow stronger, it will be difficult for us to take back Vietnam!"

"That's right! General Bassom!"

Ho Chi Minh, who had been silent until now, also began to speak up: "General, the NTD Army in North Vietnam has tanks, planes, and artillery. Now is the best opportunity for us to send troops. Otherwise, if we wait any longer, we may not have any chance at all!"

Upon hearing this, Basong Zhalunpong pondered for a moment, then sighed softly and said, "Ah! I understand!"

As his voice fell, the generals present breathed a sigh of relief. That was more like it; when it was time to send troops, they should have done so.

"Since everyone supports my decision to send troops, then..."

Basong Jalunpong looked around at the generals in the conference room and said, "I have decided to personally command from the front line. You may go and prepare."

"Yes, General!"

All the generals lowered their heads and spoke.

Hu Zhiming and Liang Minghua were overjoyed.

Thailand has an army of 600,000, plus their 50,000 troops, making a total of 650,000!

Lin Feng, oh Lin Feng!

Now we'll see how you die!!!

The image of Lin Feng being hacked to death flashed through their minds.

October 22, 1941, afternoon.

Thailand's elite Prafah Army and anti-Vietnam organizations formed the 1st Army Corps, with nearly 140,000 troops, and marched south from Pursat Province in Cambodia, preparing to invade Phnom Penh, the Cambodian capital.

The border guard forces in Pakse, Sorin Province, consisting of the 2nd Corps of the Royal Thai Army's 2nd and 3rd Armies, numbering nearly 110,000, crossed the Mekong River to attack Sai Ben Province in Laos.

The Royal Thai Army's 4th, 5th, and 6th Corps, totaling 160,000 troops, formed the 3rd Corps and crossed the border from Nong Khai Province in central Thailand, advancing across the border into Laos.

Their objective was clear: to capture Quang Binh and Quang Tri provinces in northern Vietnam, thereby joining forces with the 2nd Army Corps in Da Nang to defeat the Da Nang Fleet, one of the three major naval forces in northern Vietnam.

The Royal Thai Army's 7th and 8th Corps, totaling nearly 110,000 men, formed the 4th Corps, responsible for supporting the 1st Corps in its maneuver from Pursat Province to northern Saigon in Cambodia, cutting off the retreat route of the National League for Democracy (NLD) forces in North Vietnam.

In the north, the 9th, 10th, and 11th Armies of the Royal Thai Army, stationed in Bokeo, Phayao, Nan, and Vientiane provinces, formed the 5th Corps and advanced towards Xieng Khouang and Luang Prabang provinces in Laos.

The Royal Thai Air Force and Navy are responsible for assisting in this operation.

On the evening of October 22, fierce fighting broke out between the Royal Thai Army and the National League for Democracy (NLD) forces along the hundreds of kilometers of border.

Under heavy bombing by the Royal Thai Air Force, the National League for Democracy (NLD) forces in North Vietnam suffered repeated defeats.
