The Me-262 was a jet fighter developed by the Hans before World War II, and it was the first jet fighter in human aviation history to be used in actual combat.
Equipped with jet engines and featuring a swept-wing aerodynamic layout, this aircraft represents a new direction in fighter jet development and opens a new chapter in the history of air combat.
Although the Me-262 fighter was seen as the last resort of the Han Air Force, which was in dire straits, and its production numbers were far from meeting the needs to turn the tide of the war, less than a year of combat experience proved it to be a powerful combat aircraft.
The Me-262 fighter prototype successfully completed its maiden flight on August 27, 1939. It officially entered service and was put into combat in June 1944. Production ceased in 1945, with a total of 1,433 aircraft of various types produced.
