Chapter 11 Second Uncle Sitian

Chapter 11 Second Uncle Sitian

Madam Liu smiled and tried to smooth things over: "In that case, we'll fight another day."

She stood up and saw her two poker partners out: "You really didn't bring much money today."

"How would we know she would be so lucky today? We've been playing cards with her for so many years, but we've never seen her win any money." Old Madam Zhang muttered a few words.

"This guy also has his good luck sometimes." Old Lady Liu smiled and sent them out.

Old Madam Si went to look for her two babies, but found them playing alone, and her eyes narrowed slightly.

"Grandma, are you done playing cards?" Si Jinchen looked at her in surprise.

Did he lose all his money?

As soon as Mrs. Si saw his little expression, she knew what he was thinking and guessed that it must be what the little guy told Juanjuan that she would lose every time she gambled.

"It's over. I'll call the driver to pick us up. It's still early today, so I'll take you to your second uncle's shop to get some new clothes."

Juanjuan turned to look at her, moved closer to her and asked quietly, "Grandma, did you win a lot of money?"

Madam Si reached out and pinched her nose: "You are the only clever one."

"It's a rare occasion for you to come here, so why don't you stay for a while?" After Mrs. Liu came back from sending someone away, she heard her call the driver to pick her up.

"I plan to take my two little ones to make some clothes." Old Madam Si smiled faintly.

Old Madam Liu walked up to Si Jinchen and half-bowed, "Achen, the two brothers are ignorant, don't bother with them. Grandma Liu will teach them a lesson later."

"Achen is not angry." Si Jinchen had a polite smile on his face.

While waiting for the driver, Old Madam Liu pulled Old Madam Si aside and said, "I say, what does your commander-in-chief think? Wanru has been gone for so many years, and he hasn't thought of marrying another one?"

Madam Si lowered her head and looked at the teacup in her hand: "I can't interfere in his affairs now."

"You are his mother after all. How could he not listen to what you say? You have watched our Ruyan grow up. How could she not be filial to you?" Old Lady Liu said with a smile.

"Besides, Achen is still so young, it's not good for him to be without a mother around. If our two families were to marry, wouldn't the shortage of money and food in the Governor's Mansion be easily solved?"

"Oh! I would like to agree, but unfortunately none of my children listen to me now. What I say as a mother is useless!"

Old Madam Si looked old and useless.

The Liu family's housekeeper walked in at this time: "Madam Si, your driver has arrived."

"We'll leave today and come to the Governor's Mansion for tea another day." Old Madam Si put down her teacup, stood up, and left with her bag that could not hold any silver dollars.

Madam Liu rolled her eyes as she watched her leave: "There will be a time when you will come to beg us."

"Madam, the two young masters suddenly fell ill and we don't know what happened." A servant ran over in a hurry.

"What? Why did you get sick when you were perfectly fine? Go get a doctor." Old Madam Liu didn't have time to think about anything else and quickly asked someone to get a doctor.

Madam Si and the others had no idea what had happened at the Liu Mansion. Now she was seeing her grandson staring at her bag with wide eyes.

"Grandma, did you win all these?" Si Jinchen was a little unbelievable.

"What's with that expression on your face, kid? Can't your grandmother win once except for losing money?" Madam Si asked in pretended anger.

"Grandma, that's not what I meant." Si Jinchen quickly took her hand and apologized.

It was just too shocking. As far as he could remember, his grandmother always lost money and never won. It was no wonder he was surprised.

Juanjuan grabbed a handful of silver dollars and then loosened his grip. Then he heard the silver dollars falling and hitting the silver dollars below with a crisp sound.

"Girl, do you like to hear the sound of money?" Old Madam Si looked at her with a smile.

"It sounds nice!" Juanjuan smiled with her eyes curved.

The driver took them to the Si family's new clothing store, which was run by the second master of the Si family.

When Mrs. Si entered the store with her two children, she saw a familiar person in the store.

"Second uncle." Si Jinchen was a little surprised that Si Tian was in the store.

Si Tian was sitting in a wheelchair, wearing a blue-gray gown and looking elegant.

He heard the sound and turned his wheelchair around, and saw Mrs. Si standing not far away with her two children.

"Mom, didn't you go play cards?" Si Tian looked at the three of them with some confusion.

He just got home today and originally wanted to meet his niece-in-law, but he heard from his eldest brother that his mother took him to play cards, so he came to take care of the business in the store.

Who knows I might run into them here again.

Juanjuan looked at Sitian curiously, he was her second uncle!

"It's done. I was thinking about making new clothes for the two children, but I didn't expect you to come back." Old Lady Si walked over with Juanjuan.

Si Tian looked at the little man beside her: "Are you Juanjuan?"

Juanjuan blinked her eyes, then nodded seriously: "Yeah."

"I saw your gift. Second uncle likes it very much. Thank you, Juanjuan!" Si Tian raised his hand and touched her head.

Juanjuan's beautiful eyes were shining, and a happy smile appeared on her little face.

"Take a look at what kind of material you like, and your uncle will have someone make it for you." Si Tian said, pointing to the fabrics in the store.

Juanjuan saw someone pushing a wheelchair behind him, and she suddenly lay on his legs: "Uncle, you have to walk by yourself!"

Si Tian felt a pain in his heart and looked down at the little baby lying on her legs and looking at him with his head tilted.

He reached out and poked her little face: "Second uncle's legs have no feeling and he can't walk on his own."

Juanjuan stretched out her little hand and poked his leg: "Doesn't it hurt?"

Si Tian wanted to say that it wouldn't hurt, but the words froze when they reached his lips. He could just feel someone poking his leg.

How is this possible?

He saw both Chinese and Western doctors, and everyone said that he would never be able to regain consciousness, let alone stand up in his lifetime.

How could he be conscious? He must be hallucinating.

Madam Si noticed that he looked unwell, so she took over the servant's position of pushing the wheelchair: "What's wrong with Ah Tian?"

"No, nothing." Si Tian felt that it must be his own hallucination. He twisted his leg hard with his hands.

"Ah!" He cried out in pain.

Everyone looked at him strangely: "Second Master, what's wrong?"

Madam Si was startled: "Ah Tian!"

"Second uncle?" Si Jinchen looked at him worriedly.

Si Tian didn’t know what to say now, he just looked at Juanjuan who was looking at him with her head tilted.

"Mom, I'm not feeling well. Can we go home today?" Si Tian's heart was in turmoil, but he knew that this was not the place to talk.

Some things are better discussed when we get home.

Madam Si was worried that there was something wrong with his health, so she naturally wouldn't object.

She said to the two children apologetically, "Juanjuan, Achen, can we come back another day to make clothes?"
