Chapter 178: Can my brothers and sisters read?
Chu Zhaoning came back from class at the Governor's Mansion. He was changing clothes in the dormitory and preparing to go to training when he saw someone coming in at the door.
"Lei Ming, how did you get yourself into this state?"
"I look pretty handsome like this. You're lucky today, otherwise you would have to wash my stinky socks for a month." Lei Ming was so proud.
"What do you mean?" Chu Zhaoning asked as he changed into training clothes.
"Let me tell you, I hid in the woods today and no one found me. Isn't that awesome!" Lei Ming patted his chest proudly.
Chu Zhaoning looked at his flashy outfit, imagined the situation in the woods, and understood why no one could find him.
"Did you come up with that on your own?"
"No, the governor's daughter-in-law drew it for me." Lei Ming remembered something and immediately said, "I won't talk to you anymore. I still have to go buy candy for Miss Juanjuan."
He immediately took off his clothes, picked up his toiletries and went to the bathroom.
Chu Zhaoning was full of questions. He changed into his training clothes and went to the training ground, just in time for the five-kilometer weighted training.
"Teacher, teacher." Juanjuan saw him and waved her little hands at him.
"Miss Juanjuan." Chu Zhaoning walked towards where she was.
"General." He saluted before Siming.
"Is today's class over?" Siming looked at him and asked.
"It's over. The young master and the other two children have made great progress." Chu Zhaoning was not flattering.
He hesitated for a moment and said, "General, I have a suggestion."
"You say." Siming pulled Juanjuan and looked at him.
"Ma Yang is a good candidate. I suggest sending him to the military academy preparatory class. Systematically studying there will be more benefits than disadvantages for him or the young master."
Chu Zhaoning has been interacting with several children for some time and has already figured out some of their personalities and characteristics.
Ma Yang is not the smartest kid, but he is very ruthless. He does not have the best talent, but he has spent the most time and effort.
Siming rubbed the back of Juanjuan's hand with his thumb and fell into thought.
"Dad! Is Brother Xiaoyang going to a very good school?" Juanjuan only understood half of what he heard.
"Juanjuan, do you want him to go?" Siming looked down at her.
"Brother Xiaoyang has to be willing to go!" Juanjuan smiled and curved her eyebrows.
"Juanjuan is right. Let's ask him first." Si Ming answered Juanjuan, and also answered Chu Zhaoning.
"Commander-in-chief, I'm going to training." After Chu Zhaoning said what he wanted to say, he put on the weight on his back and caught up with the team in front.
Siming held Juanjuan's little hand and stood on the training ground watching the soldiers train.
"Adjutant Qi, what do you think of Chu Zhaoning's suggestion?" Siming turned to look at Adjutant Qi.
"General, haven't you also thought about sending the young master to military school when he grows up a little?" Adjutant Qi looked at Siming.
"This is just my wishful thinking. I've considered sending him to a military academy or even joining the military. Now I want to ask for his opinion."
Siming looked at the soldiers on the training ground. Entering a military academy would allow him to better learn tactical training, while entering a barracks would require him to learn by himself.
No matter which path you choose, it will be hard, but it’s still early, so you can wait a few years and see.
"By the way, how's the situation at the orphanage?"
Adjutant Qi: "We've sent someone to take charge. These children have been abused before and are very wary of others."
"The people who take over have to take their time, but some of the children are older and may not be able to stay in the orphanage for more than a few years."
Juanjuan pulled Siming's hand and said, "Dad."
Siming looked down at her: "What's wrong?"
"Dad, do the brothers and sisters in the orphanage know how to read?" Juanjuan looked up at him.
Siming shook his head: "They can't read."
Juanjuan tilted her head: "Do they know any crafts?"
"No." Siming still shook his head.
"Dad, they don't know anything and will starve if they leave the orphanage." Juanjuan frowned, looking puzzled.
Siming and Adjutant Qi both fell into deep thought.
Yes! These children don’t know anything. What can they do after leaving the orphanage?
Adjutant Qi looked at Siming and said, "General, how about hiring someone to teach these children how to read or some craft?"
"Go and do this. If you do it well, you will be exempted from the punishment of cleaning the toilet." Siming looked at him.
"Yes, I will ensure that the mission is completed." Adjutant Qi saluted and went to do it immediately.
Juanjuan accompanied Siming to watch the shooting training again, and the gunshots were very loud.
She covered her ears and hid behind Siming, leaving half of her head exposed. She watched the soldiers shooting with her big eyes without blinking.
Seeing her timid yet eager look, Siming raised the corners of his lips unconsciously: "When Juanjuan grows up a little, Dad will teach you how to use a gun."
Juanjuan's pretty big eyes lit up: "Really?"
"Yes, really." Siming nodded with a smile.
It took Lei Ming some time to wash off the paint on his body, and then he ran out to buy the best candy.
When he came back, it was almost lunch time. He searched around before he found Si Ming and Juanjuan in the cafeteria.
"General, this is the candy I bought for the young lady." Lei Ming said as he put a bag of candy on the table.
Juanjuan’s eyes lit up when she saw the candies on the table: There are so many candies, they can last for a long time!
Si Ming saw that her eyes never left the candy on the table, so he reached out and took the candy, grabbed a handful and kept it, and handed the rest to Lei Ming.
"Give these to the brothers."
He put the handful of candy in his hand into the small bag Juanjuan was carrying: "It's not good to eat too much candy. It will hurt your teeth."
Juanjuan looked at her bulging little bag and smiled so much that her eyebrows curved: "Juanjuan's candies are all shared with good friends."
Sima Ming gave her so much candy because he knew that she never ate the candy herself.
Although she liked candy, she never ate too much. She was so sensible that it made him feel distressed: "After dinner, Dad will take you home."
"Okay!" Juanjuan ate obediently.
The soldiers in the cafeteria were worried that she would not be able to get used to the food here. After all, the food in the barracks was simple enough to fill her stomach, and whether it tasted good or not was secondary.
But seeing how deliciously she ate, they smiled.
The governor's children are really nice, not spoiled at all.
When Si Ming sent Juanjuan home, he saw Yan Anqing still at home, but his face didn't look very good.
And Miao Jiu also sat next to Si Ning, being as obedient as a bee.
"Achen, take Juanjuan to play first." Yan Anqing said to Si Jinchen beside him when he saw them coming back.
Si Jinchen nodded, stood up, took Juanjuan and went to play in the yard.
"Aming, come and sit down." Old Madam Si waved at her.
Si Ming sat next to her, and seeing Yan Anqing's bad expression, he knew what he wanted to say.
