Chapter 76 Going to the Beautiful Grandma's House
Madam Si was not stupid either, she just wanted to see what she was trying to do.
The two agreed that she would bring some antiques to the Governor's Mansion tomorrow and decide whether to lend money after taking a look at them.
After seeing off Madam Liu, the housekeeper came over and said, "Madam, I don't think she has good intentions."
"I know that the Liu family has a large collection of antiques. There are also many foreigners in Beiyang City now, and many of them are eyeing these old items."
"If possible, I don't want the things left by my ancestors to be lost overseas."
This was also the reason why she agreed.
The housekeeper sighed, "But if these are all real, I'm afraid it will cost a lot of money. If they are fake, I'm afraid the money I lent out will never be returned."
"Don't worry, let's wait until the governor and the second master come back." Old Madam Si planned to go to the Yan family in the afternoon to ask.
Juanjuan woke up, with a messy head of hair, and ran out to find Old Madam Si: "Grandma."
Her voice was soft as if she had just woken up, she was yawning slightly, and her eyes were still unfocused.
Old Madam Si looked at the cute little girl snuggling beside her, picked her up and sat her on her lap, then pulled the shawl over her.
His hands were still gently patting her body: "You haven't woken up yet, do you want to sleep a little longer?"
Juanjuan yawned loudly and shook his furry little head.
Old Madam Si held her like this, and waited until she was fully awake before asking Bailing to get her clothes and a comb, so that she could dress him and comb his hair.
"Grandma is going to your teacher's house soon. Do you want to go with her?"
"Are we going to pretty grandma's house?" Juanjuan looked up at her.
"Yes! Let's go to the beautiful grandma's house." Mrs. Si nodded with a smile.
"Go." Juanjuan loves going out to play the most.
After waking up, Si Jinchen went to Yan Anqing's house with them. Ma Yang had to go to the store to help and couldn't go with them.
But they went out together, first sent Ma Yang to the store, and then they went to the alley where Yan Anqing and others lived.
Old Madam Si looked at the alley. When she came here a long time ago, it looked newer. But after all these years, it has become much more dilapidated.
Some of the posters on the wall have curled up, and you can hear them snapping when the wind blows.
The three of them were standing outside Yan Anqing's yard when they heard Jian Menglan's voice.
"This jewelry is really beautiful. I will go to the Governor's Mansion tomorrow to thank Madam Si."
"Aren't you going to return it?" Yan Anqing frowned at her.
"No, I won't give it back. I like it and I want to keep it." Jian Menglan seemed to be deliberately trying to piss him off.
Yan Anqing said with a stern face: "If you like it, I'll buy it for you. Return this one."
"What did you just say?" Jian Menglan felt that she had misheard.
"I said I would buy it for you." Yan Anqing's face looked a little unnatural.
"Hahaha! Yan Anqing, we've been together for almost a lifetime, and you've never even given me a flower. Now you want to buy me jewelry?"
"Did I hear it right?" Jian Menglan just felt incredible.
"Not all my money is with you. Go buy whatever you like." Yan Anqing said a little annoyed.
"How can this be the same?" Jian Menglan felt that he was just a piece of wood.
Yan Anqing looked at her with a puzzled look on his face: "What's the difference? I'm afraid you won't like what I bought."
"Teacher, it's different!" Juanjuan couldn't help but stick his little head in from the gate and said with a smile.
"Why are you here?" Jian Menglan's smile became even wider when she saw her.
"Beautiful grandma, I came here with my grandmother and brother." Juanjuan said as she pulled the two of them into the yard.
Yan Anqing saw the three of them and nodded slightly: "Tell me, why are they different?"
"Teacher, what you buy yourself is not a gift, there is no surprise!" Si Jinchen said.
"Yeah, yeah." Juanjuan nodded seriously.
"Why don't I see you two being so serious in class?" Yan Anqing looked at the two of them seriously.
Juanjuan turned to look at Si Jinchen: "Brother, aren't we serious in class?"
Si Jinchen didn't know how to answer.
"You old man, these two children are obviously studying very hard in class. Can you find me two more children who are more serious than them?" Jian Menglan couldn't bear to see him bullying the two children.
"Okay, okay, I can't argue with you, so I won't say anything." Yan Anqing surrendered.
He turned to look at Madam Si: "Is there something wrong?"
"I do have something I want to ask Mr. Yan." Old Madam Si said with a smile.
"What's the matter?" Yan Anqing asked them to sit down and talk.
"I wanted to ask Mr. Yan if he has any involvement in antiques." Old Madam Si also asked directly.
"Why are you asking about antiques for no reason? Are you planning to buy some?" Yan Anqing frowned slightly.
Old Madam Si then told the Liu family about their plan to use antiques as collateral to borrow money.
Yan Anqing sighed after listening to the whole thing: "If it's antique calligraphy and paintings, I might be able to help a little, but if it's other porcelain and antiques, I'm afraid there's no way I can help."
"I think the Liu family has bad intentions. They know you're teaching children at the Governor's Mansion, so they definitely won't take antiques, calligraphy, or paintings with you."
Jian Menglan didn't like the Liu family very much either. They had sent someone to invite Yan Anqing before, and they arrogantly said that they would pay any amount of money.
But Yan Anqing has always been a tough guy and he won't do things for whoever pays him the most.
Otherwise, there would not be...
Madam Si thought about it and agreed. If the Liu family wanted to set a trap for them, they would definitely not come up with something they could identify, and would definitely choose something they were not good at.
"I think you should just not lend it to them and let them figure it out on their own," Jian Menglan added.
"That's easy for you to say. There are so many foreigners who want these antiques now. As long as the Liu family spreads the word, someone will definitely pay to buy them. Then these things will be lost overseas."
Yan Anqing looked at her and said.
"If the Liu family really sold their things to foreigners, they would be nothing." Jian Menglan became angry when she heard him say that.
"We don't know the specific situation yet, so I'll have someone keep an eye on the Liu family." Old Madam Si said with a smile.
Juanjuan was listening on the side, blinking her big watery eyes, then turned her head and whispered in Si Jinchen's ear.
"Brother, are these things important?"
"I don't quite understand it either, but it should be important!" Si Jinchen also understood only half of it.
The two children listened attentively, wanting to know more.
Madam Si knew that today's mission would probably end in failure.
"I really like the jewelry you gave me. I wore it for a walk before you came, and many people said it looked beautiful." Jian Menglan finished talking about the main business before talking about other things.
"I'm glad you like it. I wanted to give you something better, but I was afraid you wouldn't want to accept it." Old Madam Si looked at her with a smile.
