Mr. Shang was in a good mood when he saw that Lian Xin was so perceptive, and his beady eyes narrowed into slits.
Seeing Lian Xin bend down to pour him wine, Mr. Shang leaned back in his chair, his gaze wandering over Lian Xin's body. Seeing her curves, a wicked fire suddenly rose in his heart.
So he gave Lian Jingshan a wink.
Lian Jingshan immediately understood. Seeing Lian Xin pick up the wine glass in front of him and drink it all in one gulp, he pursed his lips and then put on an apologetic smile.
"Excuse me, I need to use the restroom."
After saying that, he looked at Lian Xin and said softly, "Xin'er, stay with your godfather. Dad will be back soon."
Lian Xin watched Lian Jingshan's figure without saying a word.
For some reason, she had a vague feeling that once Lian Jingshan left, he would never come back.
Thinking of this, she frowned slightly, opened her mouth, and was about to call out to Lian Jingshan when Mr. Shang picked up his wine glass again and put it in Lian Xin's hand.
"Xin'er, come here."
Looking at the smiling Mr. Shang, Lian Xin forced a smile, then tilted her head back and drank the wine in her glass in one gulp.
"Good, as expected of my goddaughter, she's so decisive."
Mr. Shang clapped his hands and looked at Lian Xin with admiration. Several men beside him also clapped and echoed his sentiments.
Lian Xin gave them a perfunctory smile, her heart set on Lian Jingshan.
Dad wouldn't treat her like that.
No, he wouldn't, after all, she's his only daughter.
Seeing that Lian Xin was distracted, Mr. Shang gave a signal to a man next to him. The man immediately understood and, when Lian Xin wasn't paying attention, dropped a white pill into the wine bottle.
"Come on, my dear daughter, this is the last one. After you finish this drink, our father-daughter relationship will be officially confirmed."
Looking at the wine glass in front of her, Lian Xin pursed her lips.
She had already drunk the previous three glasses of wine and nothing happened to her. She must be overthinking it. Besides, this Mr. Shang doesn't seem like that kind of person.
With that thought, she accepted it with a smile and clinked glasses with Mr. Shang.
"Godfather, I'll do it."
After saying that, he tilted his head back and drank it all in one gulp.
Seeing the wine flow down Lian Xin's throat and into her stomach, Mr. Shang was overjoyed, but he showed no sign of it on his face.
He picked up his wine glass, took a sip, and put it down.
"My dear daughter, your godfather's blood pressure has been a bit high lately, so this is just a token gesture."
Lian Xin looked at his belly, which looked like he was six months pregnant, and nodded.
I've heard that overweight people are prone to high blood pressure, so Lian Xin didn't think much of it at all.
Seeing that Lian Xin had drunk the spiked wine without any reaction, Mr. Shang became a little anxious. He frowned and glanced at the person next to him.
The people around him shook their heads, signaling him not to be impatient.
Mr. Shang had no choice but to suppress his anger and chat with Lian Xin about all sorts of things.
Gradually, Lian Xin felt her head getting heavy and dizzy. The number of Mr. Shang in front of her also increased from one to three, which immediately sounded an alarm bell in her mind.
She suddenly stood up, but before she could take a step, she fell straight to the ground.
Mr. Shang was heartbroken to see this.
"Oh dear, my little darling, what if you break it?"
Seeing the people around him standing there stiffly, Mr. Shang immediately started cursing.
"Are you guys dead? Hurry up and take her to my room."
