Chapter 63 Son

Chapter 63 Son

Xu Mo sat down in the office chair in front of his desk, holding her breath slightly.

The man opposite was looking at her, and Xu Mo felt inexplicably a little strange. From her angle, she could see the logo of the man's polo shirt, Biyinlefen.

Xu Mo nodded: "Hello, I'm Xu Mo."

Lin Hui asked, "How long does it take to get here from home?"

Xu Mo: "Take public transportation, about half an hour."

Lin Hui seemed to smile. Xu Mo didn't quite understand the meaning of his smile. Then she heard him say, "It's quite close from here."

"Where are you from?" Lin Hui asked.

"Nanshi." Xu Mo said.

"Nanshi." Lin Hui nodded. "It's a good place. I heard there are many delicious foods there."

Xu Mo: "If you can handle spicy food, you'll feel that way."

How could a normal interview with the chairman involve such casual conversation? Xu Mo already had a vague guess as to who the person opposite her was. After a pause, she tentatively said, "People like my husband, who grew up in Guangdong, would find the food there a bit strong."

Lin Hui's eyelids moved and he took a sip of tea.

"You got married quite young in a big city," Lin Hui said. "How did you meet your husband?"

Xu Mo said: "We are college classmates."

Lin Hui nodded: "Hello, college classmate, I saw your resume, you graduated from Huazhong University, very outstanding."

He smiled and said, "Unlike me, a kid from the countryside who didn't even finish high school. Because of this, I suffered a lot of setbacks."

Xu Mo said: "You are an entrepreneur, this is another kind of success."

Lin Hui was stunned for a moment, then raised his head and smiled, with an unclear meaning.

"Yes, although this company is small, it has supported more than a dozen people over the years." Lin Hui paused and asked, "What do you think of our company?"

Xu Mo said: "It's pretty good. The main business is garbage disposal, and I can make a lot of money quietly."

Lin Hui looked out the window and said, "After deducting all labor and costs, we can steadily earn several million every year."

Xu Mo followed his gaze and saw green leaves outside the window.

"Just like you said, make a lot of money quietly," Lin Hui said, "but some people would rather work for others and prepare wedding clothes for other people's children than inherit this family business."

Xu Mo asked, "You mean your child?"

"Yes," Lin Hui said. "He's very talented. Like you, he graduated from Huazhong University with a degree in economics. He wasn't close to me when he was little, so I could only watch him grow up in silence all these years. I took care of the family business myself, wanting to leave him a share of the family fortune. Who knew that after graduation he would choose to work for someone else? My company is in the waste disposal business, which doesn't sound very promising, but the place he went to wasn't a good one either. He worked in a feed factory and traveled all over the country, in the mountains and by the sea, and he was covered in stench. I tried to persuade him for a long time, but he just wouldn't come back."

"Why doesn't he want to come back?"

Lin Hui pressed his eyebrows and said, "I separated from his mother a long time ago. Maybe he's blaming me."

Xu Mo pursed her lips. Without knowing the full situation, she couldn't judge and said nothing.

Lin Hui smiled at her and said, "Xiao Xu, I think you have a good eye for me. Do you want to come to work in the company?"

Xu Mo said, "Thank you for your appreciation. Changing jobs is a big deal. I need to think about it carefully and contact HR later."

Lin Hui handed her his business card and smiled slightly: "Okay, no need to look for HR, you can call me directly when you have made up your mind."

Xu Mo went shopping in the mall in the afternoon and returned home at seven o'clock in the evening.

The faint aroma of medicinal herbs wafted into her nose, and Xu Mo's gaze fell on the man who was cooking soup in the kitchen. White smoke curled up and spread across his face.

Lin Jingchuan tilted his head to look at her: "You're back."

Xu Mo nodded and smiled: "Well, why are you here so early?"

Lin Jingchuan put on scald-proof gloves, carried the casserole out of the kitchen, placed the casserole on the silicone placemat, and said, "I'm not busy recently, and sitting in the office is just idle. Why don't I go home early? I can still cook something for you."

Xu Mo pulled out the dining chair: "Are you free? Lately... have you no work to do?"

Lin Jingchuan shook his head. "The group has recently introduced a rotating CEO system. I've handed over my current tasks to President Ou."

On the surface, it was a rotation, but in reality, it was a formality. Xu Mo was silent for a moment, then looked up and asked, "Is this Director Fei's decision?"

Lin Jingchuan said: "I guess so. He is not in the company now. Yiming has the final say."

Xu Mo's expression was complicated: "Yiming has the final say? Didn't he want Fei Yijie to be the heir before? How come Yiming has the final say now? He threw Fei Yijie to you, and now he has disappeared and is no longer in charge of the company. Now Yiming has the final say in the company's affairs. You and Yiming have fallen out. What does this mean?"

Lin Jingchuan picked up some food for her and said, "Eat more and stop thinking about me."

Xu Mo looked at him: "You are quite frank."

Lin Jingchuan looked into her eyes and smiled tenderly: "I'm not so busy now, I'll spend more time with you."

Xu Mo took a sip of the soup: "Does this mean that I can drink the soup you make every day?"

"Sure." Lin Jingchuan's eyes fell on her rosy lips after drinking the soup, "But you have to pay."

Xu Mo asked, "How much is a bowl?"

Lin Jingchuan said, "You'll know after dinner."

Xu Mo smiled.

She looked at the herbs in the pot and suddenly said, "Jingchuan, I have an interview today."

"I know. You told me."

"Yeah." Xu Mo raised her eyes and looked at him, "But I didn't tell you the name of that company."

Lin Jingchuan noticed that her eyes were not simple and was stunned for a moment: "What's the name of that company?"

Xu Mo was silent for a moment: "Lin Hui cleans."

The man's gentle eyes suddenly turned much colder, and the air became unusually quiet.

After a few seconds of silence.

Lin Jingchuan lowered his eyes and picked up a piece of pork ribs for her: "How about the noodles?"

Xu Mo observed his expression and said, "Not bad. I met with the chairman."

"So...are you planning on going to work?"

"No." Xu Mo shook her head. "Actually, this company doesn't quite suit me."

The man's face was calm, revealing little emotion. "Yes, a company that's too small will have many potential problems. Furthermore, this company's industry isn't very promising, so its future development is limited. I don't think we can offer you a very high salary."

Before Xu Mo could speak, Lin Jingchuan suddenly looked up at her: "How did they find you?"

"On the recruitment software," Xu Mo said. "HR kept asking me to come for interviews, saying the chairman really wanted to meet me."

Lin Jingchuan put down his chopsticks and pressed his eyebrows.

Xu Mo finished the food in the bowl and put the chopsticks back on the table. Lin Jingchuan took the bowl into the kitchen. Soon, Xu Mo heard the sound of the dishwasher running.

Lin Jingchuan returned to the sofa and sat next to her.

Xu Mo was concentrating on watching TV, but Lin Jingchuan's mind was in a mess.

He placed his hand on the back of her hand and slowly held her hand: "You guessed who he is, right?"

Xu Mo tilted her head to look at her, the light from the screen falling on her fair face.

After a while, she said, "Yeah."

Lin Jingchuan asked: "What did he tell you?"

Xu Mo said, "Maybe he wants you to inherit his company."

Lin Jingchuan seemed stunned for a moment, then smiled and shook his head: "Inherit the company?"

Xu Mo pursed her lips: "What's wrong?"

Lin Jingchuan's eyes showed a calm and indifferent expression: "He has three daughters. How could such a good thing happen to me?"
