Chapter 3 The Eccentric Aunt Comes to Stir Up Trouble

"Meng Qingluan, are you trying to kill someone?" the middle-aged man shouted, pointing at Meng Qingluan.

"Ouch, it hurts so much, it hurts so much!" the woman screamed as she fell to the ground.

"..."

Meng Qingluan leaned against the door frame, her face full of exasperation.

Did she take action?

This person is probably a fake...

The woman was helped up from the ground and glared at her.

"You dare to hit your aunt?"

Meng Qingluan frowned, realizing the woman's identity.

These three people are the original owner's uncle and aunt. The original owner's biological parents went out to do business with merchants from the Western Regions and were gone for ten years. Their fate was unknown. The original owner was then placed in Uncle Meng's house to live.

Uncle Meng was weak and incompetent, accomplishing nothing, and his family was run by his strong-willed aunt.

The original owner was abused from a young age, which fostered her weak and timid nature.

Moreover, although it was said to be foster care, the original owner actually lived alone at home.

She grew up on the charity of many families. Uncle Meng was afraid she would starve to death, so he would only occasionally give her a couple of bites to eat.

After understanding the situation, Meng Qingluan said irritably.

"Hit your dad?"

Aunt Meng's expression froze. She never expected that Meng Qingluan, who was usually timid and hesitant, would talk back to her and even make sarcastic remarks about her being old.

"Well, well, you've really grown up now. You've even learned to talk back to your elders?" Aunt Meng's face turned green.

Meng Qingluan's face remained expressionless.

"Fuck your dad."

Aunt Meng snorted coldly, "I'm not going to waste any more words with you today. Hurry up and pack up your junk and get out of this house. I'm giving you one hour. If you don't leave, don't blame me for not showing any kinship."

"Move your dad."

Meng Qingluan kept repeating the same sentence without moving her feet.

"You still dare to curse? Are you going to move or not?" Aunt Meng's eyes widened.

"If you're not moving, then get out of here right now." Meng Qingluan didn't waste any more words with her, grabbed her collar, and was about to throw her out the door.

"You little brat, if I don't teach you a lesson today on behalf of your parents, I'm not a daughter-in-law of the Meng family."

Aunt Meng reached out to pinch Meng Qingluan's face, but Meng Qingluan dodged her hand nimbly.

He immediately twisted her hands behind her back and kicked her in the back of the knee, sending Aunt Meng sprawling face-first to the ground.

Uncle Meng quickly helped her up, shouting, "Rebellion! Rebellion! It's really rebellion!"

Aunt Meng was furious that Meng Qingluan would actually dare to make a move today, and she shook off Uncle Meng's hand.

Pointing to her own face, she provocatively said, "Meng Qingluan, you think you're all grown up now? If you've got the guts, hit me today! Hit me here, hit your own aunt to death! See if the villagers will gossip about you after you're done!"

"..."

This was the first time Meng Qingluan had ever heard of such an outrageous request.

Oh well……

"Smack—"

Meng Qingluan didn't tolerate her and slapped her face several times.

Forget about ethics and moral principles, forget about those old-fashioned elders. She's not from ancient times, and she won't be bound by those broken rules and regulations.

Besides, this was her own request, so she had no choice but to comply.

Who can blame her when she's such a helpful and beautiful woman?

The sound of slaps echoed, and an eerie silence fell for a moment, followed by screams from a child and screams from a woman, plunging the scene into chaos.

The child brought by Aunt Meng was fat and chubby. When he saw Meng Qingluan hitting his mother, he tilted his head and was about to bump into her stomach.

Meng Qingluan dodged to the right, and he missed his target. The chubby boy's head fell to the ground due to inertia, and he sat down on his bottom, covering his head and wailing loudly.

"My precious Abao!"

Hearing her son cry, Aunt Meng tenderly picked him up and rubbed his head.

Meng Qingluan tossed her hair and breathed a sigh of relief.

"That was close."

"Meng Qingluan! You're asking for death!"

Aunt Meng pounced on him like a madwoman, swinging her arms wildly and occasionally kicking. Meng Qingluan could only dodge and run around the yard.

"Stop right there, you brat!" Aunt Meng shouted as she chased after her.

"If you don't chase me, I'll stop."

Meng Qingluan nimbly darted around the courtyard, even taking a moment to turn around and make a face at Aunt Meng, which made Aunt Meng chase after her even more fiercely.

Shen Yan was dizzy from being led around by her, so he pulled Meng Qingluan behind him and kindly advised, "Aunt, don't chase after her."

"Get out of my way!" Aunt Meng's face twisted in rage. "What kind of person are you to dare call me aunt? A male prostitute from a brothel, you think you're qualified to stop me?"

Shen Yan pursed his thin lips slightly, and his dark eyes swept over her unintentionally. Aunt Meng suddenly felt a chill run down her spine, and she couldn't help but tremble. She cursed even more fiercely.

Shen Yan stood there without saying a word, while she uttered vulgar words.

"Auntie," Meng Qingluan couldn't stand it anymore, "how many years have you been pickling your mouth? It's so flavorful!"

After a moment's thought, Aunt Meng realized that she was being insulted for her foul mouth, and she was so angry that she was about to hit her.

Uncle Meng ran up to her and grabbed her arm, saying, "Honey, we're not here to fight her today. We have important business to attend to!"

Aunt Meng was so angry that she didn't care about anything else. When Uncle Meng tried to persuade her, she cursed him as well.

Seeing that she was being hugged, Meng Qingluan raised her foot and kicked her calf. Aunt Meng's knees buckled, and she and Uncle Meng fell to their knees on the ground.

The commotion at the Meng family's house was so loud that it had already attracted the attention of others. Seeing the chaotic scene, the others rushed in and barely managed to pull the frenzied Aunt Meng away.

When Aunt Meng saw that people were watching, she sat down on the ground and started crying, completely losing her previous arrogant demeanor.

"Damn it! I'm so unlucky. I haven't enjoyed a single day of happiness since I married into the Meng family. I have to take care of my unfilial niece. Now that she's married, she's got wings and dares to hit even her own aunt."

“We’re all from the same village, you be the judge, tell me, is Meng Qingluan a decent person?”

Upon hearing this, the onlookers, eager for a good show, began to chime in with their own advice:

"Why are you getting angry with Meng Qingluan? Everyone in our village knows what kind of person she is. Even the village dogs avoid her. Don't you know her?"

"Yes, you're too kind, raising such an ungrateful wretch! If it were me, I would have abandoned her long ago, letting her starve or freeze to death."

"What kind of good person could a woman who frequents the Nanfeng Pavilion be?"

"..."

Meng Qingluan laughed in anger. Why were these people cursing her without even knowing the facts?

Besides, the original owner only visited the Nanfeng Pavilion, but never did anything out of line. He was just a dutiful little loyal dog of the courtesan... that's all!

Aunt Meng suppressed the upturned corners of her mouth, wiped away her tears, and said, "I'm just heartbroken. I've taken care of her for so long, only to raise such an ungrateful child."

"Anyway, she's married now, grown up, and doesn't care about us anymore. I'm not going to serve her anymore! Everyone can be my witnesses, I'm going to take back what's mine today."

Aunt Meng spoke with great passion, which drew applause from several women who were watching the spectacle.

Chen Yan suddenly spoke up, his voice clear and bright like the moon, "Third Lady Meng has never done anything reckless. She merely enjoys two cups of tea and two pieces of music."

Meng Qingluan was taken aback, not expecting Shen Yan to take the initiative to explain for her.

only…

This explanation is still rather weak. Going to a brothel just to drink tea is no different from telling everyone that you only order male models to have a heart-to-heart talk.

Sure enough, as soon as Shen Yan finished speaking, the crowd burst into laughter and mocked him.
