Chapter 105 Listen to Me

In the end, Yin Lan moved into a small room in the storage room.

Sensing her worry and fear about the empty wasteland, before going to sleep, Zhao Xiaoxiu thoughtfully approached the door of the small room and gently asked:

"Aunt Yin Lan, how about I let Sister Monkey stay and sleep with you?"

Having already lain down in her sleeping bag and covered by blankets, Yin Lan peeked out with her eyes and turned her head slightly toward the door.

Through the dimly lit crack in the door, Monkey Sister's two eyes, glowing with an eerie green light, flickered.

"Hiss!" Yin Lan took a deep breath and decisively rejected the child's kindness.

Yin Lan: "No need, goodnight. Please close the door behind you, thank you."

"Okay then, goodnight, Aunt Yinlan." The little girl sounded a little disappointed.

But she still obediently closed the door behind her and left.

"Is it cold in the greenhouse?" Zhao Xiaoxiu asked Sister Monkey.

Sister Monkey shook her head. It was very warm inside. During the day, she had built a nest inside using poplar branches and dry leaves. It was comfortable and warm to sleep in.

However, it was already too late, and seeing the cub yawning repeatedly, Sister Monkey stopped her from her enthusiastic visit and told her to go see it during the day tomorrow.

Monkey Sister escorted Zhao Xiaoxiu upstairs and watched her enter her room before running up to the roof, leaping down from the top floor, landing precisely and lightly in front of the greenhouse, and disappearing into the greenhouse in a flash.

Zhao Gang carried the remaining hot water upstairs in a bucket, and the father and daughter washed their faces and soaked their feet together, warming themselves up before taking their storybooks to bed.

As soon as Zhao Xiaoxiu got into bed, there was a chill in the air, but as soon as her father came up, a warm tentacles enveloped her completely, leaving only her head exposed. She quickly became so hot that she started to sweat.

Zhao Xiaoxiu kicked her legs uncomfortably, and the tentacles clinging to her body withdrew a little. She then began to act out the scene, in sync with the story Zhao Gang was reading.

At first, Zhao Xiaoxiu found these dramatic scenes interesting.

Now that I've seen so many ghost stories, and they're all so unoriginal, I get sleepy after just a few lines.

Unfortunately, the tentacles wouldn't let her sleep. The tentacles pried open her eyelids and wouldn't leave until she had learned ten new words.

At this moment, Zhao Xiaoxiu was muttering words, her mind completely blank, entering a hazy state between sleep and wakefulness.

Zhao Gang looked over, his vertical pupils turning around twice in reverse. He found the cub's state very interesting, so he pressed his face against her small face and observed her carefully.

"Xiao Xiu?"

"Um."

Can you hear Daddy?

"Yes, Dad, I want to drink yogurt."

The two tentacles behind Zhao Gang immediately widened their eyes in horror. The cubs can talk while they sleep!

Zhao Gang felt like he had discovered a new continent. He chatted with his cub for a long time until she could no longer say anything. Then she turned into a blood-red ball of flesh and fell asleep wrapped around her cub.

The next morning, just as dawn was breaking, Zhao Gang was awakened by the noise of Yin Lan tinkering on the first floor.

He withdrew his body, kissed Zhao Xiaoxiu's rosy cheeks from sleep, and quietly got up and went downstairs to start working with Yin Lan.

Midway through, I heard the sound of the patrol station's supply point opening, so I drove over in my van and bought the only two cartons of yogurt in the supply point.

It wasn't a mercenary, so there was no special offer. I got it for the original price of 200 points per board.

Two trays of yogurt cost 400 points, enough to buy 80 days' worth of nutritional supplements, but Zhao Gang didn't even blink.

It was cold, and I was worried that the cold would upset my child's stomach, so I warmed a pot of water on the stove and put a carton of yogurt in it.

That way, when the child wakes up, they can have warm yogurt.

Zhao Xiaoxiu felt that winter was the best season to sleep in.

On days without sunshine, the sky is gray from morning till night, making it easy for people to fall asleep and lose track of time.

Zhao Xiaoxiu was groggily awakened by a hairy paw. She stretched and opened her eyes, and sure enough, it was Sister Monkey.

It stood at the head of the bed and used its furry paws to brush Zhao Xiaoxiu's chubby face, trying to wake her up 'gently' in this way.

Seeing that she had finally opened her eyes and woke up, it excitedly chirped "Squeak squeak squeak!"

It's already 10:30! If I sleep any longer, the whole day will be over!

Zhao Xiaoxiu rubbed her eyes and sat up in bed. Monkey Sister immediately grabbed her cotton-padded jacket and trousers and threw them at her head, growling fiercely and urging her to put them on quickly.

"What are we going to do today?" Zhao Xiaoxiu asked curiously as she struggled to put on her thick clothes.

She's a three-and-a-half-year-old child with no kindergarten to attend and no chores to do. Every day, her routine consists of four words: eating, drinking, and playing.

Monkey Sister led her downstairs to the kitchen and looked at her expectantly, pointing to the stove with hot water.

Zhao Xiaoxiu raised her eyebrows slightly, moved a stool over, stepped on it, and opened the pot lid. The water inside was simmering gently.

After the white steam dissipated, a tray of yogurt floating in hot water came into view.

"dad!!!"

The cub's excited cries immediately echoed throughout the entire house.

Yin Lan and Zhao Gang, who were installing solar panels on the rooftop, were jolted awake by the sudden shout.

"Xiaoxiu loves you the most!"

Upon hearing this, Zhao Gang scratched his head and gave Yin Lan a smug smile.

Yin Lan: "......"

Sometimes, people can actually laugh when they're speechless.

She shook her head helplessly, reminding Zhao Gang to concentrate, as these pieces of equipment were hard-won and a broken piece couldn't be replaced in a short time.

Perhaps it's because he drank too much nutrient solution. This person's nose immediately transmits the smell of other foods to the brain.

Yin Lan smelled the aroma of meat wafting up from downstairs and looked at Zhao Gang suspiciously: "You still have meat at home?"

"Hmm." Zhao Gang said, "I got a low-grade mutated loach a couple of days ago, and I smoked more than 20 kilograms of it to keep as a snack for Xiaoxiu."
