Chapter 159 Grade A Mutant Plants

Zhao Xiaoxiu watched the patrol car, laden with food, drive away in the sunset, then immediately lowered her head and moved her feet away.

The mutated plant, charred black from being trampled under her feet, with only two tender green, thorny leaves at its tip, immediately tried to burrow into the ground as soon as it was freed.

But it couldn't escape Zhao Xiaoxiu's clutches. As soon as it burrowed into the ground, someone precisely dug away the soil covering its body and pulled it out.

The unknown mutated plant struggled in Zhao Xiaoxiu's hand in terror. The short, seemingly harmless thorns on its leaves suddenly grew longer, and each hair-thin thorn emitted an eerie red glow in the setting sun.

Seeing the sharp spikes about to pierce her hand, Zhao Xiaoxiu neither dodged nor retreated, but curiously watched to see just how much damage they could cause her.

Monkey Sister was getting anxious watching from the sidelines. She wanted to step forward and open that hateful mutated plant, but Zhao Xiaoxiu stopped her with a look.

The cub is tiny, pink and white, and adorable with chubby cheeks. She usually smiles, revealing a set of pearly white teeth, making her look especially endearing and lovable.

But at this moment, that little face became serious, and when she looked up and swept her eyes around, Sister Monkey suddenly felt a strong sense of pressure.

In an instant, Sister Monkey felt as if she were facing Zhao Gang, which made her fur stand on end, and she cautiously took a step back.

The monkey shook its head violently, then looked at the cub again. She had already lowered her eyes and was focused on the mutated plant that had plunged its thorns into its own tiger's mouth.

"Phew~" Sister Monkey patted her chest and breathed a sigh of relief. The cub was still the same cub, but it was looking more and more like Zhao Gang.

Monkey Sister stepped forward cautiously and approached, observing the thorny mutant in Zhao Xiaoxiu's hand together.

Even though the roots and stems were charred black, they were still so vibrant, which shows how tenacious their vitality is.

The translucent, hollow thorns extending from the leaves, like needles used in hospital IV drips, pierced into Zhao Xiaoxiu's tiger's mouth veins, greedily sucking her blood and preparing to inject toxins into it.

Zhao Xiaoxiu looked at the faint red light emanating from its body. It was an A-level mutant, yet it looked so unremarkable.

Less than 2 milligrams of toxin entered Zhao Xiaoxiu's body in the blink of an eye. Zhao Xiaoxiu felt that she was incredibly bold to use her own body for testing.

Soon, she felt a strong dizziness, followed by a sudden, violent jolt in her body, and she fell straight to the ground uncontrollably.

Monkey Sister was startled and quickly helped her up. She roared angrily and slapped away the mutated plant stuck in Zhao Xiaoxiu's tiger's mouth with one paw.

I couldn't open it on my first try, and instead got pricked by the thorns on the leaves.

The spikes looked as thin as hair, but they were surprisingly hard and sharp.

Fortunately, the Grade A mutated plant, in its extremely weakened state, was no longer able to produce a second drop of toxin.

It arrogantly believed that it had successfully poisoned this despicable human cub. Its thorns were pulled out, and its roots tried to burrow into Zhao Xiaoxiu's skin, taking over her body to serve as nutrients.

At this critical moment, Zhao Xiaoxiu, who was frozen in Monkey Sister's arms, suddenly sat up, opened her mouth, and vomited violently.

The tomato and quail egg soup I ate this morning, mixed with a thick, unabsorbed nutrient-rich paste, containing a clump of white, toxic tissue, was all sprayed out.

With a "slap!", the mutated plant, which was preparing to use the human cub as nourishment to take root, suddenly encountered the "hand of God," and its two leaves covered with sharp thorns instantly withered.

In its extreme fear, it actually released a kind of "shock" emotion, as if questioning: Why weren't you poisoned?

Zhao Xiaoxiu snorted coldly twice, stood up from Monkey Sister's arms, knowing that Monkey Sister was terrified, first gave her a reassuring smile, then picked up the mutated creature on the back of her hand with two fingers, and said smugly:

"Your poison can't harm me!"

Whether it had eyes or not, Zhao Xiaoxiu lifted the two flattened leaves on its head and looked at the ground. All the toxins had been expelled by her body.

However, the sudden numbness and stiffness that made her feel out of control still left Zhao Xiaoxiu a little scared.

She loosened her grip, and the mutated plant immediately tried to run away, realizing for the first time how terrifying a human baby could be.

However, as soon as it burrowed into the ground, Zhao Xiaoxiu commanded, "Come back!"

The mutated plant suddenly froze, its two leaves on top turned towards Zhao Xiaoxiu, and its body moved uncontrollably toward her.

Amazingly, its scorched rhizomes somehow sprouted new roots.

The monkey sister watched helplessly as the rebellious and arrogant little grass was being directed around by the cub, looking like it wanted to resist but its body was completely out of control. She slapped her head and suddenly realized what was going on.

How dare it drink the blood of a cub! This Grade A mutated plant is doomed!

And judging by how "obedient" it is, it must have just drunk a lot of blood.

Zhao Xiaoxiu squatted down, reached out her finger to touch it, and focused all her attention on the tender grass with only two leaves in front of her. Her consciousness was able to establish a connection with it very quickly.

The A-grade mutant plants were very different from the C-grade mutant plants she had encountered before; the mutant pine and the emerald bead flower were unconditionally attached to her.

But the one in front of her was different; it had a very strong resistance and was difficult for her to control.

Zhao Xiaoxiu closed her eyes and focused intently on establishing a connection with it, trying to completely dissolve its will to resist.

This connection with the mutated plants and animals is wondrous, a powerful sensation that is entirely a stream of consciousness.

It was as if her brainwaves were invisibly spreading out to touch the brainwaves of these mutants.

The connection is a bridge of radio waves, and she can easily sense them and establish contact with them.

But sensing, communication, and control are completely different.

She wanted to make the A-level mutant in front of her 'hear her voice' and obey, like trying to break a cement wall with a plastic hammer—a powerless and lengthy process.

But Zhao Xiaoxiu refused to give up. She believed that as long as she persisted, she could successfully break down the wall built by the mutants!

She had seen her father control people; he only needed a gaze, as simple as a person eating or drinking, and he could succeed without thinking.

Although she couldn't be as skilled as him, she wanted to test the limits of her control using blood as a medium.

With her other hand hanging by her side, Zhao Xiaoxiu clenched her fist tightly, putting all her strength into it, her hair trembling as she exerted herself.

The mutated plant touched by her fingertip reacted like a cat with its fur standing on end, its leaves pressing against her fingertip. The two newly grown stems arched outwards like legs.

A tug-of-war began.

Monkey Sister sensed the powerful repulsive force emanating from the baby and the grass, and felt anxious and a little panicked for Zhao Xiaoxiu.

It warily surveyed its surroundings, wary of other mutant species intruding and taking the opportunity to harm the unsuspecting cubs in front of it.

Fortunately, this tense situation did not last long.

Seeing Zhao Gang walking towards her against the setting sun, Monkey Sister's tense nerves immediately relaxed, and she breathed a long sigh of relief.
