Chapter 166 Peter Pan Awakens

In the dead of night, when all was quiet, Zhao Xiaoxiu suddenly sensed something and struggled to open her eyes from her dream, waking up.

A loud splash came from the other side of the pond. The floating fish, which had been dormant in the pond all winter, leaped out of the water. It was nearly three meters long and covered with silver scales. Under the moonlight, it emitted a faint halo.

It floated in mid-air, as if it had just woken up, and dazedly swung its tail around the pond once. Then, its pointed triangular head turned around and tentatively swam toward the green wall not far away.

The silver fish gradually moved away from the pond and floated in mid-air, moving forward little by little.

The two tiny fish eyes darted left and right, a hint of surprise flashing within them, as if they couldn't believe they could actually swim in mid-air without water.

It was a little happy, and suddenly flicked its tail and swam forward excitedly, but then fell from mid-air with a "plop" about 500 meters away from the pond.

Caught off guard by the fall, far from the water, its scales quickly dried out. The three-meter-long fish rolled in terror on the grass, sending up a pile of grass clippings. Its mouth was wide open, looking like it was about to suffocate.

When Zhao Xiaoxiu led her father and rushed over from home, this was the pitiful yet ridiculous scene she saw.

"Peter Pan!" Zhao Xiaoxiu exclaimed.

She glanced quickly at the pond 500 meters away, then at the silvery, floating fish struggling on the ground, which looked like it had gained weight. She was both shocked and delighted.

What's surprising is that it should have been in the water, yet it managed to swim so far.

The good news is that it finally woke up.

And judging from this, there have been new changes.

Peter Pan was happy to see her, but he felt like he was dying of thirst. He struggled and tried to flip back into the water, completely forgetting about being affectionate with his little master.

Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly stepped forward and reached out to take it back.

But the little flying fish was no longer the size she could easily hug back then. Zhao Xiaoxiu couldn't even hold it with both arms, so she had to grab its two fins and drag it towards the pond with a heave.

Zhao Gang raised his hand to support his forehead, still feeling sorry for his child, and sent out a tentacle to help. Only then did Peter Pan return to the water before he suffocated.

With a splash, Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly stepped back, otherwise Little Flying Man would have splashed her with water.

After soaking in the water for a while, Peter Pan resurfaced and floated in mid-air, excitedly circling above Zhao Xiaoxiu's head, his fish tail occasionally brushing against her, narrowly preventing Zhao Xiaoxiu from stumbling.

But she didn't mind. After regaining her balance, she laughed and wiped the water droplets off her face, then looked up and said, "Peter Pan, you've grown up again!"

Peter Pan blows out a ring of bubbles to warn Zhao Xiaoxiu to be careful, and then tries to fly out of the pond again.

It flew in the air, and Zhao Xiaoxiu ran after it on the ground. She ran five hundred meters in one breath, and when she was less than a hundred meters away from the green wall of her home, she suddenly stopped and dared not go any further.

Zhao Xiaoxiu noticed with her sharp eyes that the scales on Peter Pan's body, which were initially sparkling, gradually became dull and shriveled as they moved further and further away from the water.

Seeing that the water stains on the scales were almost dry, Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly urged Little Flying Man to go back.

After retreating less than fifty meters, with a muffled thud, he fell from the sky again.

"Dad!" Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly called for help from her father on the shore.

The tentacles flew over, swept away the little Peter Pan who was thrashing about on the ground, and threw him into the pond with a "thud!"

Frustrated by his two failed attempts, Peter Pan floated on the surface of the water with only his head above water, rubbing against Zhao Xiaoxiu's outstretched palm.

Waaah, it thought it could go to the other side of the house to play with its little owner from now on, but it can't fly far at all.

A fish that can never fly out of the pond is a complete failure!

Sensing Peter Pan's emotions, Zhao Xiaoxiu found it both amusing and a little heartbreaking. She gently stroked its smooth fish head and encouraged it:

"To be able to fly this far away from the seaplane, you're already a top-tier hoverfish among hoverfish, that's amazing!"

Perhaps comforted, Peter Pan's mood improved, and he splashed water with his tail onto the small wooden boat moored on the shore, wanting Zhao Xiaoxiu to go up and play with it.

Seeing the changes in Peter Pan, Zhao Xiaoxiu was too excited to fall asleep. But she didn't intend to play any boring games with him.

Doodle the little fish head, telling it to stay still for a while, and then Zhao Xiaoxiu got up and ran home.

She was going to conduct an experiment to verify her hypothesis.

Zhao Gang followed behind with great interest, watching his little one carry all the household items, such as basins, ladles, and watering cans, onto her small floating board and drag them to the pond.

"Dad, if Peter Pan and I fall down in a bit, you have to catch us, okay?" Zhao Xiaoxiu earnestly instructed Zhao Gang before they set off.

Zhao Gang nodded, indicating that he understood.

Zhao Xiaoxiu took a deep breath, suppressing her excitement, and waved to signal Little Flying Man to come out of the water.

“Lower, lower still, let me sit on your back,” she said.

Peter Pan clumsily moved and moved until he reached a suitable height so that Zhao Xiaoxiu could climb onto his back.

Zhao Xiaoxiu held the hoverboard's tether in one hand and supported Peter Pan's back with the other, quickly moving to its front middle section.

Peter Pan thought she was going to let him carry her, and happily flicked his tail, preparing to float upwards.

Zhao Xiaoxiu felt a weightless, floating sensation and quickly shouted, "Don't move!"

Peter Pan was startled, withdrew the released magnetic field, and floated steadily above the ground.

Zhao Xiaoxiu didn't dare to delay. She quickly put the leash between its two fins, jumped off its back, and sat on the hoverboard.

Beside her were various containers filled with water.

Zhao Xiaoxiu held a watering can in one hand and a stainless steel ladle filled with water in the other. She cleared her throat and said, "Peter Pan, fly forward, fly higher!"

Because of the shadow cast by the two previous 'air crashes', Peter Pan dared not be reckless this time. He first hovered at the highest height he could reach after leaving the water, about 27 or 28 meters.

They started moving forward, slowly and leisurely flying towards the residential area.

The hoverboard was pulled by Peter Pan and floated in mid-air.

There was only a gentle breeze on the ground tonight, but as Zhao Xiaoxiu got higher and higher, she felt the wind getting stronger and stronger.

The strong wind billowed her sleeves and trouser legs, and her hair stood up like a lit torch.

Looking down, the bright full moon of the night was reflected in the pond, and Dad became a black dot, standing on the lighter gray earth.

A gust of wind blew from the slope, causing the suspension board to sway, and Zhao Xiaoxiu's heart jumped up as well.

Without any safety measures, her small frame could easily have been blown off by the wind, which was extremely dangerous.
