Chapter 172 The Green Wall You Can't Escape

Unfortunately, the little flying hero who took off from the water was one step ahead of it, releasing a magnetic field. The stone he raised suddenly hovered in mid-air. Then the magnetic field was withdrawn, and the heavy stone fell to the ground, almost hitting Monkey Sister's foot.

As soon as Monkey Sister saw this, she turned and ran away, refusing to linger.

After all, it had already given the fish a good beating in the water, so running away now wouldn't be a loss for it.

However, as soon as she started running, the levitation magnetic field immediately caught up, and Monkey Sister lost weight and could not control herself. She could only watch helplessly as her feet were lifted further and further off the ground.

Then—"Bang!"—a loud crash, and the macaque fell to the ground, instantly creating a deep crater.

Sister Monkey lay in the pit, seeing stars.

It doesn't have human ropes, nor does it know how to use ropes to lasso the floating fish, rendering its magnetic field control ineffective.

Little did it know that the floating fish it was facing was a super-evolved version, capable of swimming hundreds of meters away from the water.

Peter Pan triumphantly retaliated against Monkey Girl, making her smash three craters in the ground before he felt satisfied.

But it quickly realized that this monkey was very different to its little owner, so it turned around, leaped over the pond, and jumped into the river with a "plop!" and hid in fear.

Grandma Meng exclaimed, "Peter Pan has escaped?"

Zhao Xiaoxiu shook her head: "No, it's because I was afraid I'd get angry, so I hid it."

But it was no use. With a little sense, she knew that the fish was clinging tightly to the surface of the water beside the riverbank, rubbing its back against the mud in the river to cover the scales that had fallen off its body.

Sister Monkey lay dying in the deep pit, unable to understand why she couldn't beat a fish.

Zhao Xiaoxiu never expected that her first use of the rose ring would turn it into a rope to drag Sister Monkey out of the pit.

Zhao Gang was still holding the spatula in his hand; he had been watching the fight with great interest.

Now that the battle is over, she gently calls out, "Xiaoxiu, come home for dinner!"

"Okay, right away." Zhao Xiaoxiu replied to her father while grabbing a vine and dragging the bewildered Monkey Sister home.

The Meng brothers reached out to help, but seeing the little girl's relaxed and carefree demeanor, they felt their good intentions were somewhat superfluous.

The two brothers scratched their heads awkwardly, exchanged a glance with their mother, and silently followed the little girl dragging the monkey back to the yard.

Zhao Xiaoxiu staggered, and the three adults behind her immediately bent down to help her. However, she quickly regained her balance and trudged forward. The three of them straightened up and breathed a sigh of relief.

The enticing aroma of food filled the entire courtyard and spread from the courtyard wall to the hillside behind the house.

A muffled thud echoed from a hole that a monkey had once dug on the mountain.

Zhao Gang's expression changed slightly as he was serving his cub a second bowl of meat soup, but he quickly recovered and focused on feeding his cub, making sure she ate her fill.

The monkey sister had recovered and was squatting resentfully by the door, holding a bowl of soup in her hand. She took a slurp of the soup and then glanced at the cub.

Seeing its once glossy fur now dull and limp, and still full of resentment, Zhao Xiaoxiu swallowed the meat broth in her mouth and took the opportunity to lecture it:

"Now you know there are heavens beyond heavens, and people beyond people, right?"

Monkey Sister looked confused and bewildered; she couldn't understand.

But the cub hadn't helped it, which still made it sad.

Zhao Xiaoxiu understood its thoughts and said irritably, "I didn't help Peter Pan either. I won't help either of you in your fight. It's all up to your own abilities."

The monkey complained: "It was clearly that fish that spat at it first!"

"Didn't you beat it up too?" Zhao Xiaoxiu retorted.

Monkey Sister remembered the few fish scales she had plucked off, and immediately became happy again, making a gurgling sound.

But he was still resentful that he couldn't beat a fish, and secretly plotted to teach Peter Pan a lesson so that it would know who the king was.

All of his thoughts were written on the monkey's face, and Zhao Xiaoxiu could tell at a glance.

She shrugged. As long as the fish or the monkey didn't die, she'd let them cause trouble.

After dinner, it was getting late, so Zhao Xiaoxiu helped Monkey Sister, who didn't want to take a bath, take one herself before cleaning up and going upstairs to sleep.

All the lights in the yard were turned off.

A light rain began to fall from the sky, and the mutated plants, nourished by the rain, began to grow wildly.

A furtive figure emerged from the dark pit, first glancing back at the completely darkened flower wall courtyard, then sweeping his gaze towards the pond below.

"Splash!" A sound of water rang out, and a huge, silver, suspended fish leaped gracefully across the water's surface.

The figure in front of the pit shuddered as he recalled the terrifying roars from the fierce battle between the monkey and the fish not long ago.

This place is too eerie. They actually keep two such terrifying mutants here. Who knows if those two mutants will discover him?

No, he needs to get out of here quickly and find another place to hide.

A light rain was falling. The man took off his coat and covered his head with it, hiding his green, weed-like dyed hair and trying to keep the rain from touching his skin. He stumbled and staggered across the damp wasteland toward the boundary of his territory.

But to his utter surprise, a green wall suddenly appeared where he had entered during the day.

The wall wasn't high, probably only about 1.2 or 1.3 meters. But as soon as he got close, the green wall suddenly came to life! Countless thorny branches suddenly stretched out, like guard dogs, casting threatening glances at him, ready to pounce and tear him apart if he dared to cross the line.

The man's hair stood on end instantly. He hurriedly backed away and ran in another direction.

No matter which direction he went, he always encountered a wall made up of unknown mutated plants.

Disbelief, anxiety, and despair overwhelmed the man; he had no idea what had happened during the afternoon he had been hiding.

Why was everything fine when I came in, but now I can't get out no matter what I do?

Of course, if you're not afraid of death, you can simply climb over that menacing green wall.

But there might only be one consequence—he would become their nourishment.

Just as the man was breaking down in the rain and running around trying to leave the area, a burst of intense gunfire suddenly erupted from the entrance of Sector B.

The running man was startled by the sirens of a passing patrol car and fell to the ground in a flustered state.

The convoy charged into Area B and collided with the patrol team that came to intercept them. Intense gunfire erupted on the main road west of Territory 13.

The man, eager to leave, stood on a high hillside and clearly saw the skull and crossbones sign on the convoy that had broken in. He exclaimed in his heart: "It's all over!"

He wanted to leave as soon as possible, but the green walls on all sides blocked his way. In a panic, he could only crawl back into the pit he had been hiding in before.

The man prayed silently in the cave: Jesus, Buddha, please let the patrolling soldiers of Hope Base intercept those terrible demons...

Hands clasped together, "Amen!"
