Chapter 213 Who to Hunt

Zhao Xiaoxiu regretted not bringing the suspension board with her.

Since they couldn't bring back all that meat from the mutated giant salamander to give Peter Pan a treat, the master and apprentice had no choice but to take out a knife on the spot and peel off its valuable skin.

The fish skin is also difficult to peel; a thick layer of fat under the skin also needs to be cut off, otherwise the desired effect won't be achieved.

Fortunately, Sheng Qingyang was already skilled at this, and he could also teach his apprentice how to deal with these difficult mutants, thus accumulating experience.

Monkey Sister kept watch around to prevent the two from being ambushed by other mutants.

It took Sheng Qingyang and Zhao Xiaoxiu two whole hours to peel off the giant salamander skin completely.

The mutated giant salamander was huge, and its entire skin was laid flat on the rocky beach, which looked quite impressive. Zhao Xiaoxiu secretly gestured with her hands and silently calculated in her mind that such a big skin could make twenty sets of clothes for her.

Sheng Qingyang always carried a roll of transparent plastic wrap with him, which was perfect for packing up the valuable parts of these mutants.

Sheng Qingyang rolled up the fish skin and tightly wrapped it with three layers of thick plastic wrap, turning it into a fish skin blanket that could be carried.

Sheng Qingyang carried the fish skin, while Sister Monkey tossed Zhao Xiaoxiu onto her back, and they quickly left the area below the waterfall and returned to the valley.

The mutated animals that were killed by the salamander's sonic waves have become nutrients for the mutated plants, and only a few broken, bloody skins can be seen.

The plants' ability to recover is beyond imagination; in the short time the master and apprentice were away, the lush green leaves had completely covered the previously damaged grassland.

If Zhao Xiaoxiu hadn't just experienced it firsthand and noticed the signs that the soil on the ground had been turned over, she would have wondered if she had taken the wrong path.

The two people and the monkey returned the way they came, climbed up the cliff and came to the forest. The motorcycle was still locked to the tree, but it was covered with fine, dense, unidentified vines.

When they sensed humans approaching, they were not afraid. Instead, they all raised their sharp, tender head leaves, the gleaming thorns resembling the fangs of wild beasts, snapping together rapidly with a "crunching" sound.

Even after hearing it for so many years, Sheng Qingyang still gets goosebumps from that clicking sound.

A fire could drive away these pesky mutated plants, but now with Zhao Xiaoxiu around, the little girl's eyes were fixed on them, and the plants immediately rustled away, revealing the motorcycle in its original form.

Sheng Qingyang tied the fish skin to the car body, and the heavy fish skin flattened the tires considerably.

Zhao Xiaoxiu couldn't help but ask with concern, "Master, can a motorcycle still carry people?"

Sheng Qingyang nodded, his hands moving swiftly, quickly tying the fish skin to the car body. He took a long stride, reached out his hand, and said, "Get in."

Zhao Xiaoxiu took her master's rough but warm and strong hand and sat in the front of the car. Sheng Qingyang patted her helmet and reminded her, "Lie down."

There aren't enough seats in the car right now, so her little apprentice will have to lie down in front of her.

After greeting Sister Monkey, the motorcycle started and carefully navigated through the forest. Half an hour later, it successfully crossed the riverbank and reached the newly opened highway.

Monkey Sister ran faster than a motorcycle through the forest and waited by the roadside for Zhao Xiaoxiu and her apprentice to arrive.

Hearing the car approaching, Sister Monkey turned around and continued running ahead.

As it ran, it suddenly smelled an unfamiliar scent. It cautiously moved to the side of the road, but was still spotted by the people in the two cars ahead.

Amidst the commotion, Monkey Sister realized the situation was dire and quickly ran back. Several gunshots rang out, nearly hitting her.

Ignoring her anger, Sister Monkey dodged the incoming bullets into the woods by the roadside while letting out a sharp cry to warn her cubs of danger ahead.

"Master, there's someone in front of us!" Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly reminded him upon hearing Monkey Sister's voice.

Sheng Qingyang had already heard the gunshots. He immediately stopped his motorcycle, his brows furrowed, and asked suspiciously, "Could it be someone from the Green Field Alliance?"

If it were a hunting party that came to hunt, who wouldn't know that Lord B13 has an evolved macaque in his house?

It's impossible for them to open fire the moment they meet.

Only the Green Field Alliance gang would kick a dog in B District as revenge if they encountered one, wishing all the lords of the planting area would die.

Just as she was guessing, Zhao Xiaoxiu heard Monkey Sister's reminder and her eyes widened in surprise, "Master, it's a bounty hunter!"

"Hunter?" Sheng Qingyang was even more puzzled: "Hunter who?"

As soon as she finished speaking, she saw her little apprentice turn around, blink his big eyes, and give an awkward smile.

"You?" Sheng Qingyang couldn't believe it.

Zhao Xiaoxiu felt even more embarrassed and nodded, "Mm."

The sound of the car accelerating was getting closer and closer when Sister Monkey suddenly jumped out of the woods by the roadside like a ghost, gesturing anxiously to Zhao Xiaoxiu.

It means that there are five of them on the other side, and they can't beat them at all. She should quickly hide in the woods with them.

Although Sheng Qingyang couldn't understand monkey language, he could roughly guess what was going on from the monkey sister's gestures. He grabbed Zhao Xiaoxiu in front of him and tried to shove her into the monkey sister's hands.

"You and Sister Monkey hide first, I'll lure them away," Sheng Qingyang said seriously.

The monkey sister reached out her paw to grab Zhao Xiaoxiu, and Zhao Xiaoxiu jumped into the monkey sister's arms and suddenly winked at her.

The monkey sister was only confused for a moment before she immediately understood what the cub meant and rushed into the forest with her in her arms.

Seeing this, Sheng Qingyang performed a big drift on the spot, deliberately making a loud noise, and slammed the accelerator to the floor, speeding away.

She thought that Sister Monkey had already taken Zhao Xiaoxiu into the mountains to focus on attracting bounty hunters.

Unexpectedly, after she left, the child and the monkey rushed out of the woods and stood in the middle of the road.

The oncoming bounty hunters nearly lost their footing and ran over the reckless guy.

After a screeching sound of brakes, the two cars narrowly missed Zhao Xiaoxiu and came to a stop behind her.

"Is this brat out of her mind?!" the hunter roared as he got out of the car, raising his gun to kill Monkey Sister.

In the blink of an eye, a blood-red tentacle suddenly appeared in front of the hunter's forehead, its tip taut, and "plop" pierced into his brow, then quickly withdrew, leaving a bloody hole.

The hunter fell down, and only then did those around him feel a terrifying killing intent rising behind them.

But before the four could turn around, the tentacles that had arrived silently had already pierced their hearts.

"dad!"

Before their consciousness completely faded, the five bounty hunters heard the little girl's cheerful, bell-like calls.

After that, he completely lost contact with the world and died peacefully.

Countless crimson tentacles descended from the sky, coalescing into a humanoid shape that resembled Zhao Gang.

Zhao Xiaoxiu covered her eyes with an "Ah!" and turned her back, shouting, "Dad, you're not wearing any clothes again!"

Sister Monkey blinked her monkey eyes, looking completely bewildered. How did Zhao Gang even appear?

It scratched its head, unable to figure it out, but that didn't stop it from deftly stripping the hunter's clothes off and handing them to Zhao Gang.

Zhao Gang slowly changed into hunter's clothes and made himself look presentable before grinning and walking towards Zhao Xiaoxiu. He turned the little figure who was facing away from him around and dusted off the ill-fitting clothes. "All dressed up."

Zhao Xiaoxiu patted her chest in relief, hugged her leg, and said trustingly, "I knew Dad would come."
