Chapter 247 Sister Monkey is Here

I don't know how long we walked, but then the sky began to lighten, the sky turned gloomy, and it started to rain.

The rain extinguished the sparks on the mountain, and the dark water flowed down the ridge, suppressing and washing away the suffocating dust.

Zhao Xiaoxiu finally got to breathe some fresh air.

She hid in a small cave formed between two large rocks, next to a nest of mutated animals that had been burned to death and were now charred beyond recognition.

These mutated animals also died unjustly. They were living peacefully in their caves when a firebomb was dropped, and their promising lives came to an end.

Holding a stick she had fished out of the water, Zhao Xiaoxiu poked at the family of mutated animals, trying to find some food.

Without even looking in a mirror, Zhao Xiaoxiu knew that she probably looked no different from a wild man.

Unfortunately, the entire litter of mutated animals was burned to a crisp, stone-like charcoal.

Zhao Xiaoxiu dropped the stick, wrapped her only coat tightly around herself, and looked at the heavy rain falling outside the cave.

It seems like she won't be able to stop anytime soon, so she should take a nap first.

Ignoring the dirt, Zhao Xiaoxiu curled up on the charred bodies of the mutated animals, feeling the lingering warmth emanating from them, and closed her eyes to fall asleep.

The sound of rain outside the cave became a soothing white noise, finally bringing a moment of peace to the poor child who had been running around in the deep mountains all night.

Zhao Xiaoxiu was dreaming, or rather, she wasn't dreaming, but rather she entered another person's memory.

In the bottomless abyss, the water flowed slowly, casting rays of brilliant light.

A gentle, familiar voice called to her, and an invisible hand patted her body rhythmically, bringing a sense of peace.

"Is that Daddy?" the little girl, who was fast asleep in the cave, suddenly asked.

The next second, she opened her eyes and woke up.

Zhao Xiaoxiu stared blankly at the clear sky outside the cave for a while, and then seemed to come to her senses. She scrambled up from the ground and crawled out of the cave.

The rain stopped, and Zhao Xiaoxiu sensed that the mysterious magnetic field enveloping the North Mountain was weakening; she didn't have much time left.

"Let's go down the mountain first," Zhao Xiaoxiu muttered to herself, turning around once to find a direction before continuing on her way.

If time could go back a year, Zhao Xiaoxiu couldn't even imagine how she, a child, would get out of the mountains.

But now, she not only has to walk out of the mountains on her own, but also has to be wary of search teams that may appear at any time.

The master said that there was a man looking for her and her father down the mountain. If she was not mistaken, this man should be Youyou's father.

That despicable guy must have been in area B for a long time, otherwise he wouldn't have been able to throw that incendiary bomb so accurately and quickly, blowing up her father!

"Thank goodness it's not really gone." Zhao Xiaoxiu muttered to herself, clenching her fist in anger.

Feeling angry, the little guy walked with great energy, panting heavily, and soon saw a patch of green.

We've finally made it out of Beishan.

With search helicopters on the edge, Zhao Xiaoxiu remained calm and stealthily slipped from the edge of the North Mountain into a dense jungle.

She was covered in mutated plants to help conceal her, so the search team probably didn't expect someone to leave in this way and didn't notice anything unusual.

Under the cover of the mutated plants, Zhao Xiaoxiu rushed for several kilometers until she reached a valley that seemed relatively safe. She stopped there, panting heavily, and looked at the mutated fruit trees with branches full of fruit in the valley.

She has now evolved an iron stomach, capable of eating any mutant, whether it's a C-grade, B-grade, or A-grade.

After catching her breath, Zhao Xiaoxiu climbed up the fruit trees, picked a handful of wild fruits, carefully selecting the ones that didn't taste good and keeping only the good ones, eating them bite by bite.

She was so hungry, so hungry that she wanted to devour a mutated water buffalo.

It was only then that Zhao Xiaoxiu belatedly realized that several days must have passed since the day she and her father went into the mountains.

It would be strange if I wasn't hungry after not eating for several days.

After eating some wild fruit to fill her stomach, Zhao Xiaoxiu nestled among the large tree branches, took off her master's coat, and reached into the pocket to rummage around.

She was taken aback, not expecting to actually find something.

A multi-tool knife and a small pistol.

"Waaah..." Seeing these things, Zhao Xiaoxiu sniffed and wanted to cry again. This must have been prepared in advance by her master.

She touched her bare neck, extremely grateful that she had left the imperial jadeite, a legacy of her sect, at home before the fire, otherwise it would have been burned to ashes long ago.

"Squeak!"

The urgent monkey cries startled Zhao Xiaoxiu awake. She looked up toward the source of the sound and saw a brownish-yellow dot rapidly approaching from the lush green canopy.

Half a minute later, the dirty Zhao Xiaoxiu was tightly hugged into a furry, smelly embrace.

"Squeak squeak squeak!"

The monkey sister, her fur disheveled, cheered excitedly, rubbing and kneading the tiny cub in her arms with her paws, and then puffing out her big monkey mouth to give it two big kisses. Only then did she believe it was real; the cub was not dead, and she was really still alive!

Peter Pan didn't lie to the monkey!

"Peter Pan?" Zhao Xiaoxiu struggled to lift her head from Monkey Sister's smelly arms and asked in surprise, "Peter Pan is here too?"

Monkey Sister nodded frantically, but she was so excited that her words were all jumbled up and Zhao Xiaoxiu couldn't understand them. She only vaguely knew that Little Flying Man, Little Baby, and Monkey Sister had left Area B together and were now together.

"Xiwa is here too?" Zhao Xiaoxiu was surprised again.

Monkey Sister didn't care what she was asking, she just tucked the person into her arms and leaped towards the top of the tree.

Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly grabbed the large, manic female monkey with both hands and feet to prevent herself from falling and dying.

However, even in such a desperate moment, seeing Sister Monkey filled Zhao Xiaoxiu with just as much excitement as Sister Monkey herself.

She thought she would never see Sister Monkey and the others again.

A heart that had been suspended in mid-air finally settled down and felt at ease the moment it saw Sister Monkey.

"Sister Monkey, I miss you so much, sob sob..."

The baby in her arms started crying loudly. The monkey sister was terrified. Seeing a beautiful big red flower in front of her, she rushed over, picked it, and handed it to the baby to cheer her up.

To everyone's surprise, this was a man-eating flower. When it saw the tender human baby being offered to its mouth, its petals suddenly split open, revealing a large patch of fine, sharp teeth. It roared and was about to swallow the baby whole.

Zhao Xiaoxiu: "......"

The little girl, with tears still wet on her face, grabbed the stem of the safflower with both hands, twisted its entire head off, and tore off the petals one by one, throwing them on the ground.

Monkey Sister, still furious, stomped on the flower petals twice more, smashing them to pieces, before finally grabbing Zhao Xiaoxiu and continuing to run forward.

After wandering in the woods for more than half an hour, a flat area suddenly appeared before us.

The ground was covered with ore covered with moss and grass. In the center of the ore was a large pit filled with water, forming a small lake.
