"After a year of good times, we've almost forgotten what kind of world this is," Shen Que said sarcastically, sitting in the passenger seat of the truck while drinking nutrient solution.
Mrs. Shen leaned back in the driver's seat. She had been driving this truck all the way and finally wanted to rest for a while. She just wanted some peace and quiet.
He glared at his daughter warningly, "Shut up."
Chen Que shrugged, jumped out of the car, and walked towards his hunting team's camp.
That's where young people like them should be.
"Huh?" Chen Que stopped in front of an abandoned convenience store.
The convoy stopped in a small town tonight, where Captain Mo and his team could rest and resupply at a gas station.
The rest of the people either rested in the car or had to find a place to lie down in the dilapidated town.
This convenience store on the street is still relatively intact. If you burn the mutated weeds around it with torches, it would be a decent place to live.
However, such a good place would usually have been targeted by someone long ago.
Chen Que was surprised because she found that there were only two people in the room, one big and one small.
Zhao Gang threw all the overturned counters and shelves outside the convenience store, cleared a clean space, placed a door panel he had found on it, laid out a clean thin blanket, and put Zhao Xiaoxiu on it.
A solar-powered flashlight was on, suspended from the wall above the door by a rope, illuminating this small corner of the room.
A triangular stove was built with bricks, and a deep, flat-bottomed pan was placed on top. Inside were chunks of pumpkin, mixed with water, and it was cooking. The aroma wafted into people's noses.
Chen Que couldn't help but take a deep breath and walk into the convenience store.
Before he could even step halfway across the threshold, a streak of blood slashed across him.
"Holy crap!"
Chen Que exclaimed in surprise and quickly dodged to the side, shouting, "Zhao Gang, don't go too far! I was just looking, I didn't intend to freeload!"
