Chapter 51 A Dramatic Change

Zhao Xiaoxiu took out her satellite phone and checked the time; it was already 10 p.m.

It took a full four hours just to clean the living room, kitchen, dining room, and stairwell bathroom on the first floor of the house.

At this rate, it would be great if we could finish cleaning all the rooms by tomorrow during the day.

But right now, Zhao Xiaoxiu just wants to take a nice, relaxing shower and then go to bed.

For Zhao Gang, understanding the cubs' thoughts was incredibly easy.

He carried the water tank, which was still half full, toward the back door of the kitchen.

The plastic water tank has a capacity of 300 liters and was originally installed on the wall outside the kitchen. One end was connected to the tap water pipe, and the other end could be directly connected to the kitchen sink.

It was specially prepared by the original homeowner for when the water was cut off.

Zhao Gang had previously inspected the water pipes inside and outside the house, and found that the water pipes originally buried in the house had broken and could not be restored to use.

However, the section leading directly to the kitchen sink is shorter, and there is a height difference between the inside and outside of the wall. The water tank is placed there, and by relying on the height difference, the faucet in the sink can be turned on smoothly so that water can flow out.

This discovery greatly surprised and delighted Zhao Xiaoxiu.

She was covered in sweat and dust, feeling sticky and uncomfortable, and immediately wanted to climb into the sink to take a shower.

Unfortunately, before he could climb up, Zhao Gang grabbed him and lifted him up.

"It's cold," Zhao Gang said, frowning unhappily.

Zhao Xiaoxiu shook her head, "I'm not cold!"

He quickly wiped the barely noticeable sweat from his forehead to show that he was very hot and his heart was burning!

Zhao Gang ignored her, placed her on the dining chair, and used two tentacles to keep an eye on her, preventing her from climbing into the sink.

Then they brought in old furniture that had been split into pieces of wood from outside, lit a fire, set up a pot, filled a bucket with water, boiled a pot of water, and poured it into a basin.

Only then did the two tentacles strip Zhao Xiaoxiu naked and put her in a basin, using the fleshy buds of the tentacles to absorb and spray water to give her a bath.

Dozens of thin jets of water poured down from above, warming the skin and washing away the dust and sweat.

Zhao Xiaoxiu closed her eyes comfortably, sat in the basin, hummed an off-key song, and swayed her head.

The cub finished its bath to its heart's content, but before its hair was even dry, sleepiness began to creep over it.

Her eyelids drooped, her little head tilted to the side, and she fell asleep, clinging to her father's shoulder.

Several blood tentacles blew the wind through her hair, turning her fine brown hair into a puffed-up chestnut shape, before carefully lifting her and placing her on the soft bed in the corner of the living room.

Pull a corner of the thin blanket over her bulging belly.

Zhao Gang cleaned up the kitchen, then went to the living room and stared at the baby's adorable sleeping face for half an hour. He couldn't resist giving it two kisses before finally turning off the lights with satisfaction.

With the only source of light gone, the entire Territory of No. 13 was plunged into complete darkness, so dark that one could not see their own hand in front of their face.

Zhao Gang released all his tentacles and began working overtime to clean the house, just so that his cub wouldn't be tired again tomorrow.

Countless tentacles instantly filled the entire house, leaving no crevice untouched.

The Blood Tentacles threw everything they could out of the house, and scraped away all the plaster and rotten wood flooring.

The collapsed rooftop bricks and tiles were moved to the open space on the first floor, and all the tentacles worked together to clean out the usable bricks and stack them neatly.

Don't worry about the unusable junk, garbage, and furniture piled up in the backyard. Just drag the usable items to the river, wash them clean, and place them in the suite on the left side of the second floor.

The master bedroom contains a double bed, a wardrobe, a bedside table, and a table lamp.

The toilet in the ensuite bathroom was unclogged, and the bathtub was cleaned and filled with river water, so daily washing and grooming can be done directly in the bathroom.

The living room inside the suite is furnished with a slightly incomplete mahogany sofa and chairs, and a clean sheet is laid on top, where the cubs can roll around freely.

Wipe the stains off the balcony glass, place a chair and a high stool on it, and put a ceramic pot with a crack on one side on the stool. Later, the cubs can put the freshest flowers in it to enjoy.

Only a few floor tiles in the left suite were warped, pried off by the tentacles; the rest, though cracked, remained firmly attached to the floor.

The right suite across the hall has been demolished to its original state before the house was renovated. The door is closed and the room is temporarily vacant, waiting for the cubs to make their own arrangements later.

The two bedrooms downstairs were also removed to their original state, with cement walls and terrazzo floors.

Several farm tools were found inside, such as rakes, triangular hoes, and grain storage bins.

There is also a threshing machine, which requires electricity to operate.

No one grows rice anymore, and it's inconvenient to transport, so it was overlooked by the cleanup team.

The room on the left is used as a tool shed.

The tentacles neatly arranged the tools the father and daughter had brought, as well as the farm implements they had found, in the room.

The other window is still intact, so it would be suitable to use it as a storage room.

Some of the furniture still needs to be repaired, so Zhao Gang put it in the tool shed for now and will deal with it when he has time.

The busy work continued until the early hours of the morning, only stopping when the first light of dawn appeared on the horizon.

At this moment, bathed in the hazy morning light, the entire house took on a completely different appearance.

The room was clean and tidy, with bright windows and spotless furniture. There was no longer any musty or damp smell in any of the rooms.

Although the furnishings inside were simple, every room was sunny and bright.

A ray of sunlight shone through the window in the door into the living room, landing squarely on Zhao Xiaoxiu's sleeping face, revealing every tiny hair on her skin.

Her rosy cheeks, illuminated by the sunlight, seemed to glow with a jade-like hue, like a crystal-clear steamed bun.

Two clusters of eyelashes, like butterfly wings, fluttered gently, and the little person slowly opened their eyes.

She sat up groggily, rubbed her eyes, and gradually made out the living room in front of her.

At this moment, the cub was unaware of any major changes in the house; it only felt that the air smelled much better than when it had arrived the day before.

Turning to look at the sofa next to him, he subconsciously called out, "Dad."

I then realized that my biological father was not there.

Zhao Xiaoxiu unconsciously let out a strange "hmm?" This was the first time she had woken up and hadn't immediately seen Zhao Gang.

So he turned and shouted towards the half-closed door, "Dad!"

Two seconds later, Zhao Gang's response came from outside.

"I'm in another house. Xiaoxiu, go to the kitchen to wash your face and brush your teeth." Zhao Gang shouted down from the roof of the house next door, which had a large crack in the wall.

Zhao Xiaoxiu said "oh" but couldn't resist her curiosity. She put on her shoes and ran out the door, wanting to find her father.

But as soon as they pushed open the door, they were stunned by the neatly stacked bricks and tiles at the entrance.

She quickly ran more than ten meters outside, turned around and looked up. The glass windows of the second-floor balcony, which had been cleaned spotlessly, shone brightly in the golden morning light.

Zhao Xiaoxiu opened her eyes wide in disbelief, carefully examining every corner of the building in front of her. The exterior was clean and tidy.

She rushed back into the house in disbelief, first looking through the two bedrooms on the left and right downstairs, her mouth agape in an "o" shape.
