Chapter 61 Peter Pan

Yang Mei remembered which Zone B it was and reminded her assistant to bring the review materials to her for approval later.

However, the levitation plant wasn't finished yet. Yang Mei thought for a moment and gave the instructions:

"First, send this batch of floating fish to the central warehouse, then have a team take the machines over there to clean out the main materials and deliver them directly to my room."

"Okay." The assistant replied and went out to return the call.

"Wait a minute." Yang Mei called out to her, asking gently, "What is Youyou doing right now?"

The assistant replied with a smile, "He is currently with two guards looking for his friend, who seems to be the little girl from the father and daughter we brought along on the way, Zhao Xiaoxiu."

"Oh, right." The assistant suddenly remembered something, quickly turned on the screen on his hand, and sent a document to Yang Mei's private email.

"These are from two guards who were going to give them to you; I almost forgot," the assistant said apologetically.

Yang Mei waved her hand, indicating that it was just a personal matter and that she should continue with her work.

Returning to her seat, Yang Mei opened the email sent by her assistant.

It was an observation report written by two guards.

[Report Subject 1: Zhao Gang]

Everything is normal, but too much normality is abnormal.

[Report Subject 2: Zhao Xiaoxiu]

It is strong, fast, and has physical abilities several times stronger than that of an average three-year-old child.

The report also included a detailed description of how Youyou was almost pecked by a flying chicken, but was saved by Zhao Xiaoxiu's quick reaction.

Yang Mei repeatedly scrolled the mouse cursor with her right fingertip, reading the report from beginning to end over and over again.

Suddenly, remembering something, he picked up the phone and called his assistant in.

"In the temporary testing data conducted at the Hope Base, were the blood sample information of Zhao Gang and his daughter included?"

The assistant nodded. "Yes, you personally tested it back then, and it showed no problems."

Yang Mei: "Please provide me with the separate records of the father and daughter."

"Now?" the assistant asked, somewhat surprised.

Yang Mei's tone was serious: "Immediately!"

The assistant was startled and immediately rushed out to retrieve the blood test sample information.

Director Yang usually seems approachable and easy to get along with, but once she gets serious, she's the complete opposite.

He is decisive and ruthless, leaving no room for argument. When he gets cold-blooded, he shows no mercy and will fire his subordinates without hesitation.

The assistant didn't dare to delay and retrieved all the information about the Zhao family father and daughter in less than five minutes, transferring it to Yang Mei.

Before sending it, the assistant checked it himself, and all the blood test data were normal, there was nothing wrong.

She didn't understand why the director attached so much importance to it.

The screen in front of Yang Mei flashed, reminding her that a file was being transferred.

She stood up, lowered all the blinds in the office, and even unplugged the network cable from her computer before opening the file.

She personally supervised her assistant's blood test, and even verified the gene sequence.

It could be said that she knew the secrets of Zhao Gang's body better than he did.

But at the time, she only performed basic examinations on Zhao Xiaoxiu and did not see her genetic sequence.

Before Yang Mei could even begin to examine Zhao Xiaoxiu's file, her heart inexplicably tightened.

I got up and poured myself a glass of warm water. After taking a sip and calming my heartbeat, I opened her gene sequence map.

After just one glance, Yang Mei's eyes suddenly widened and her breathing became rapid.

She found Him!

......

Achoo!

Zhao Xiaoxiu sneezed for no apparent reason, her small body lurching forward, almost plunging into the pond with the fish in her arms.

Fortunately, she was some distance from the pond, and escaped unharmed.

However, the floating fish in his arms saw the water and suddenly became excited. With a big flick of its tail, it broke free from the human cub's embrace and leaped into the pond.

A high spray of water rose up, splashing Zhao Xiaoxiu's face with water.

The culprit, however, flicked its tail, creating circles of silver ripples in the pond, a joy visible to the naked eye.

Zhao Xiaoxiu raised the back of her hand to wipe the water droplets from her face and smiled, "It seems you really like this pond."

Suddenly, a floating fish leaped out of the water, spitting out a floating bubble, and then headbutted it, delivering it to Zhao Xiaoxiu.

Curious, she reached out and poked it. The bubble popped open with a "pop," and the fine mist dispersed, shimmering with iridescent light as it slowly fell.

Like a firework, it bursts into brilliant bloom and disappears at her fingertips, bringing a moment of stunning beauty.

"So beautiful!"

Zhao Xiaoxiu looked into the water with delight. The floating fish flicked its tail, stirring up the surrounding water ripples, which then hovered briefly in mid-air.

With water in the air, it also took flight, leisurely swimming in the water ripples in mid-air.

Finally, along with the falling water, it sank into the pool, darting left and right to explore its new home.

Zhao Xiaoxiu couldn't see it and was so anxious she wanted to call out, only to suddenly realize that it didn't have a name yet.

"What name should I give you?" He squatted by the pond, resting his chin on his hand, and thought seriously for a moment. "I've got it! I'll call you Peter Pan."

"Peter Pan?" Zhao Xiaoxiu called out tentatively into the pond.

A string of bubbles rose from the water.

Zhao Xiaoxiu was overjoyed; it must like this name!

"Peter Pan, Peter Pan, Peter Pan..." Zhao Xiaoxiu repeated many times.

The floating fish was disturbed and floated up, spitting water all over her face.

Zhao Xiaoxiu felt a cool sensation on her face as water flowed down her collar and onto her body. She shivered violently and sneezed again.

The floating fish had a confused look in its eyes, which were the size of broad beans. Zhao Xiaoxiu found it quite cute with its blank expression, so she tentatively stretched out her foot, approached the pond, and reached out to touch its head.

To her utter surprise, the seemingly docile floating fish suddenly jumped up and bit her.

The moment the stinging sensation came, Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly shook her hand away.

To her surprise, the floating fish wouldn't let go. When she used all her strength to shake it off, the sharp barbs in the fish's mouth scraped off a piece of her finger.

"Hiss!" Zhao Xiaoxiu gasped in pain, standing somewhat disheveled by the pond. She looked at the floating fish that had bitten her flesh and then disappeared into the depths of the pond. Her face was expressionless, but her eyes turned cold.

Looking down, she saw that a large chunk of flesh had been scraped off the pad of her index finger, and blood was gushing out, dripping down in large drops.

Blood splattered into the pool, and the previously hidden floating fish quickly emerged, greedily sucking the blood into their mouths, one bite at a time.

Seeing this, Zhao Xiaoxiu's indifferent gaze gradually turned into disbelief.

Was the docile joy she just displayed merely a means to lure her prey?

I heard unhurried footsteps behind me.

Zhao Xiaoxiu turned around and saw Zhao Gang stop and stand on top of her, looking at her with concern.

Her self-healing ability is stronger than before. The blood on her fingertip has stopped flowing, the wound feels numb and itchy, and fresh flesh is growing back.

Zhao Xiaoxiu looked at the pond, but the floating fish was nowhere to be seen.

But suddenly I felt a strong sensation in my chest; it was in the pond, between the two deepest rocks on the east side.
