Zhao Xiaoxiu originally only wanted to record the freezer on the purchase list first.
Unexpectedly, the more I thought about it, the longer the purchase order became.
My child stayed up all night, working on a list until 1:30 a.m.
Zhao Gang felt that his son loved learning and was practicing calligraphy proactively, which was a rare occurrence. The old father was considerate and didn't disturb him, so he went to bed first.
The two tentacles couldn't stand it any longer, so they forcibly snatched the paper and pen from the cub's hands, dragged her to the bed, and stuffed her under the covers.
The fleshy flower at the top was hissing and breathing, forbidding it from emerging. Close your eyes and go to sleep!
As she closed her eyes, Zhao Xiaoxiu was still thinking that she must add bedding to the list tomorrow; the weather is getting warmer, and it's time to use a thin blanket.
At 6:30, the alarm clock rang on time. The child had only slept for five hours and was still not enough sleep. She was reluctant to get out of bed, and the tentacles all made a helpless sigh. We helped her get dressed, wash her face, brush her teeth, and took her downstairs.
Zhao Xiaoxiu kept her eyes closed the whole time, until the cool morning breeze brushed against her cheeks, and her thick, curled eyelashes, which looked like two small fans, suddenly trembled and she woke up.
There was no one in the courtyard. The Meng brothers hadn't gotten up yet. Xiwa had been secretly sleeping in one of the other empty rooms on the property. Only the sound of Granny Meng and Zhao Gang, who was cooking, talking could be heard from the backyard.
Two tentacles appeared openly, shoving the twin blades into the cub's hands and helping to set up the new training stakes.
All the wooden stakes we used for practice were chopped up and burned as firewood.
Zhao Xiaoxiu made a face at the two tentacles in front of her, then picked up her sword and began to practice.
At seven o'clock, the patrol car came to pick them up. Zhao Gang put the breakfast he had prepared on the coffee table in the hall, patted his little boy's forehead which was covered in sweat, and said, "Daddy is going to work. Wash your face before you eat."
"Okay, goodbye Daddy." Zhao Xiaoxiu smiled brightly, watched her father leave, then turned around, put away her knife, went to the well in the backyard, turned on the water pump, and filled her hands with water to wash her face.
Sister Monkey is always on time for meals. Even before Zhao Xiaoxiu arrived, she was already waiting in the lobby.
For breakfast, Zhao Gang steamed the two remaining mutated bird eggs in the refrigerator, added two drops of soy sauce for flavor, and they were fragrant and tender.
A mutated blackback fish, about the width of a hand, was fished out of the pond early in the morning. Its scales and internal organs were removed, and the fins on its head and tail were discarded, leaving only the fattest part.
Pan-fry until golden brown on both sides in clear oil, add a suitable amount of salt and a small amount of white sugar to enhance the flavor, thus preserving the purest taste of the ingredients to the greatest extent.
As soon as Zhao Xiaoxiu arrived, Sister Monkey immediately placed her wooden bowl on the coffee table and slapped the table with her two front paws, signaling her to hurry up.
If Zhao Gang were home, Sister Monkey wouldn't dare to urge him like this.
However, there's no need to be polite with the cubs; they're good friends, and good things should be shared.
It needs to eat its fill to have the energy to work today.
She pampered her own monkey, and even though it was only enough for one person, Zhao Xiaoxiu generously shared half of it with her monkey sister.
After enjoying the delicious food, drinking a bottle of nutritional supplement should be enough.
After satisfying her craving, Sister Monkey went to the back mountain to catch and eat all sorts of mutated animals from the traps and pits.
After a good meal, the sun gradually rose, the dew evaporated, and from a distance, the green earth looked as if it had been coated with a light white filter, very ethereal and beautiful.
But when it comes to actually doing the work, things aren't so pleasant.
Meng Er said, "I bet agriculture is definitely the most arduous industry!"
Even evolved beings find repetitive physical labor tedious and boring.
Fortunately, being an evolved being, cultivating the vegetable garden was much easier than before.
Meng Dali was strong and had better physical strength than the others, so he was mainly responsible for hoeing the land.
Granny Meng has sharp eyesight. Together with Zhao Xiaoxiu and Sister Monkey, the two of them and the monkey are responsible for cleaning up the stones and other garbage in the ground.
Meng Er was mainly responsible for dividing the land to ensure that it met the requirements set by Zhao Gang—every piece of land was perfectly square and straight.
After marking the ground, he picked up a rake and broke up the clods of soil that Meng Da had dug out into finer particles to ensure that the seeds could breathe easily in the ground.
With many hands making light work, by three or four o'clock in the afternoon, the designated vegetable plots had been mostly dug up.
Sister Monkey didn't want to work anymore. She only liked planting things in the ground and didn't like clearing land. She started to slack off in various ways.
One moment he'd catch mutated insects or other small animals that sprang from the ground, the next he'd run up the hill behind the mountain, gather a handful of mutated weeds, spread them on the ground, and lie down to sleep.
The three members of the Meng family were still a little wary of it, but Zhao Xiaoxiu was not. She raised her short legs and kicked the two bright red monkey buttocks with a "hey".
Monkey Sister jumped up with a "Roar!" and, upon seeing Zhao Xiaoxiu, immediately concealed her fierce expression, her eyes darting around, refusing to look at her.
"No slacking off!" Zhao Xiaoxiu shouted.
The monkey sister squeaked twice, seemingly trying to argue her point.
From the west stall came the little boy's call. Zhao Xiaoxiu quickly handed the small hoe in her hand to Sister Monkey, telling it to hurry back to work. She said something to Granny Meng, turned around and rushed to the stall in a whirlwind.
"Why did you call me?" Zhao Xiaoxiu asked, hands on her hips and head tilted back, without blushing or panting.
Xiwa pointed to the two people standing on the road, and ignoring their surprised looks, bent down and whispered in Zhao Xiaoxiu's ear:
"Young lady, the group of people who came to see the cars this morning have decided to buy all of our modified cars, a total of twenty-one cars, and they offered 32,000. What do you think?"
Zhao Xiaoxiu lifted her eyelids, her round, dark eyes quickly scanning the two people in front of her. Her nose twitched, and a smell of engine oil wafted over, clearly indicating that they were two car dealers.
Since he was a car dealer, he obviously needed to make money, so Zhao Xiaoxiu asked in a low voice, "Do you think this price is high or low?"
