Chapter 35 Temporary Team Formation

Narcissus's eyelids twitched slightly. She had just been thinking that Losi and the otaku were not to be fought, but now she was listed as one of the unfightable groups by the black man.

When the nerdy guy came over, his legs were still shaking a little, and he gripped the box even tighter; the black man was giving him a lot of pressure.

Narcissus still had a smile on her face, but the smile didn't reach her eyes. Although there were only two rows of seats, the two sides were practically considered rivals. After the nerdy guys with no fighting skills came over, her side's lethality dropped sharply.

I just don't know what special skills this little girl has. I hope she's not a tech-savvy type like the nerdy guy.

Narcissus sighed inwardly. If it weren't for the fact that moving now would make her seem insecure, she would have liked to sit to the side with the black man.

Soon the fifth person arrived. He was a trained fighter with muscles all over his body, like a big bullfrog. Unlike the black people, he was only about 1.6 meters tall. On Planet Ajeel, where everyone is now over 1.75 meters tall, he was like a dwarf.

He glanced at the imposing Black man, then at the three harmless figures beside him.

After some hesitation, she finally sat down next to the otaku. At least he wasn't a threat from here.

The three people on the left looked at him curiously. He appeared to be a pure-blooded Asian, but his skin had turned bronze due to years of sun and wind exposure. In such cold weather, he was only wearing a thin black Chinese-style training uniform, making him look like he was in his thirties.

After he sat down, he didn't look at the three of them, but instead closed his eyes to rest.

Narcissus didn't even have a chance to say hello or get to know him.

Even when he was relaxed, his muscles were still incredibly large, clearly the result of rigorous training. Losi couldn't help but compare him to a black man, who, while also tall and muscular, had a more technologically advanced look.

It's not certain who will win if the two of them face off, so it's good that they have such a skilled fighter on their side.

The otaku's body trembled even more violently.

The sixth and seventh people arrived at the same time, a man and a woman, with classic Caucasian features, blond hair and blue eyes, and upon closer inspection, the two looked extremely similar.

Twins? Losi thought to herself, they seem to have something going for them, but there's only one seat left on their side, so they'll definitely choose the right side.

Sure enough, the brother and sister only glanced at it briefly before sitting down on the right.

The two sat in the car and passed by the four people opposite them one by one.

Narcissus waved coquettishly and gave the man a flirtatious wink: "Hi~"

Losi smiled and nodded obediently, while the otaku kept his head down and didn't notice her gaze at all.

They nodded politely in response to Losi and Narcissus's reply. The competition hadn't started yet, and they didn't intend to strain their relationship.

The eighth person followed closely behind, and it turned out to be a plump middle-aged woman in her forties, who resembled a landlady. Surprisingly, she was also allowed to bring things.

Everyone looked at the large cloth bag at her waist, which was filled with many things.

The bullfrog man, who hadn't moved since getting on the bus, suddenly opened his eyes and looked at the old lady.

"Master Jingbai, what brings you here?"

The older woman glanced disdainfully at the bullfrog-like man, then got on the bus and sat directly opposite him.

"What? You can come but I can't?"

The bullfrog-like man opened his mouth as if to ask something, but then shut up when he saw that there were many people around.

There are four people on both sides now, and it's hard to say which side will be full first.

The ninth one was a woman of Asian descent in her early twenties. She had neat, shoulder-length short hair parted in the middle, and her black hair was as smooth as silk. She had delicate features and a unique coolness about her.

She looked at the people on both sides, paused for a moment, and then chose to sit on the right.

Lossie looked around, like a little girl who hadn't yet experienced the harsh realities of life. She had just noticed the thick calluses on the woman's right hand, suggesting she might be armed like herself, and she needed to be careful.

The tenth person was a slender man, wearing an ill-fitting casual suit, with long brown hair and a beard.

As soon as he appeared at the back of the car, he muttered to himself, "Oh, it's all full. I guess I'm not too late."

He quickly got on the bus, and after looking at the number of people on both sides, he could only sit on the left.

"It's more spacious over here. The black guy is too big. It's not crowded over there, is it?"

He was met with silence.

The man, who looked like a petty thug, wasn't annoyed. He slumped into his seat and continued, "Ugh, I squeezed through the door for ages before I got in. I'm exhausted. I don't even know when they'll start driving."

As he spoke, he leaned out from behind the vehicle and asked the soldier waiting beside him, "Brother, when are we leaving?"

The soldier knew that this was one of the top ten people and that he was likely to enter the academy in the future, so he was still relatively polite to the thug.

"We'll leave once everyone's here."

The thug pulled out a pack of cigarettes from his pocket, took one out and handed it to him: "Do you know what our competition venue is like, buddy?"

"No comment." The soldier refused to disclose the question without hesitation, and didn't even bother to take the cigarette.

The thug, realizing he'd made a fool of himself, still grinned and offered the cigarette even closer: "Hey, don't be angry, buddy. I was just curious. I won't force you to say anything if the higher-ups don't want you to."

"Let's keep the cigarettes, consider it a gesture of friendship."

The soldier hesitated. If this person made it into the top ten, he would become a student of the academy, and the soldier would have more opportunities in the future.

Despite repeated persuasion from the thugs, the soldier accepted the cigarette.

The car was quiet, except for the voice of the thug.

Narcissus poked her head out from inside and greeted her in a friendly manner: "What's your name, handsome?"

The thug's eyes lit up when he saw Narcissus, and he excitedly stretched out his hand: "Just call me Zhang Jie."

Shui Xian stretched out her hand and shook hands with Zhang Jie across the three people, saying, "Hello, Brother Jie, I'm Shui Xian."

"Narcissus, what a beautiful name, but the girl is even more beautiful than her name." After saying this, the thug Zhang Jie took the opportunity to touch Narcissus's hand before letting go.

A hint of displeasure flashed in Narcissus's eyes as she was being taken advantage of, but she chuckled and said, "How annoying~ You're so glib."

The conversation shifted abruptly: "Brother Jie, do you have any inside information about this competition?"

Zhang Jie spread his hands: "No, they're too strict."

Seeing the disappointment on Narcissus's face, Zhang Jie suddenly clenched his fist and exclaimed, "Ah! I just remembered one!"

Upon hearing this, not only Shui Xian looked at him, but everyone in the carriage looked over, even the otaku couldn't help but look up to listen.

Seeing everyone staring at him, Zhang Jie tossed his flowing long hair and cleared his throat: "This year, as long as you get into the top 100 in any of the three rounds of exams, you'll receive points as a reward."

Upon hearing this news, some were disappointed while others were delighted, and it was clear that some people already knew about it.

Narcissus looked surprised: "Really? In previous years, even the top ten didn't get any points rewards."

Although the top ten students can get into the academy, the safe zone doesn't actually give any points as a reward.

Like Narcissus, Losi feigned surprise, pretending she knew nothing, though she wondered if Narcissus was faking it. Besides her, the pale-faced middle-aged woman, the nerdy guy, the bullfrog guy, and the female gunslinger opposite her were also somewhat surprised.

The brother and sister exchanged a quick glance, showing little surprise.

Zhang Jie stroked his beard: "It should be true. The army in the safe zone may expand its recruitment this year. We are currently in the top ten. Even if we fall behind, as long as it's not too outrageous, we can still get into the safe zone."

Let's stop fighting amongst ourselves. I just want to join the army and earn a living.

The others remained silent, but Narcissus spoke up: "Not at all, I just want to join the army to earn a living. Ladies and gentlemen, please don't lay a hand on a weak woman like me, please."

As she spoke, Shui Xian mimicked Xi Shi clutching her heart. She was in her twenties and past the age of acting cute, but her outstanding appearance made it seem natural.

Zhang Jie responded with a smile: "Then why don't we go together? That way we can look out for each other."

Narcissus readily agreed, then looked at Lossie: "Little sister Lossie, why don't you come along?"
