Where am I?

Where am I?

Liu Xia walked for most of the day in the jungle covered with vines and thorns. She managed to carve out a path in this difficult area with almost no roads, and finally reached the abandoned tourist center before her consciousness completely disappeared.

An antique plaque with wood grain and gold characters hangs precariously under the blue and white eaves of the visitor center. It can be seen that the texture is still very good. It has been preserved for so many years without being damaged. However, the text on it is not very clear, and one can only barely make out the words "Zhonghai National Wetland Park Visitor Center".

There is a large square in front of the visitor center. The ground is covered with large stone floors, most of which have been broken. The gaps between each stone brick are covered with half-human-high green weeds. It is obvious that no one has set foot here for a long time.

Liu Xia walked for most of the day without seeing any other contestants. The entire square was deserted and looked very desolate. The only signs of living things were the dried animal feces on the ground and the palm-sized mutant cockroaches that flashed by.

Seeing the rare living person Liu Xia approaching, the big brown cockroaches quickly scattered and ran away in panic.

This type of mutated cockroach has a very low risk factor, and it is difficult for it to produce the core of an alien beast in its body. It just becomes very large in size and is very durable and resistant to damage. It is also a particularly resilient creature. If you kill one batch, another will soon appear. It is impossible to kill them all. They exist in every corner of the wasteland.

If the taste and nutritional value of this mutant cockroach were not so poor, it would probably be used as a regular food by scavengers and beggars in the garbage area.

Although there were still many traces of living things, Liu Xia had no better place to hide at this time.

She has no one to rely on now, and she can't even protect herself in a coma. She has no other choice. In this situation, companions are particularly important.

There was no other way, Liu Xia could only quicken his pace and quickly cross the square into the abandoned tourist center which didn't even have a gate.

Entering the lobby of the visitor center, you can see that the interior is decorated entirely in blue and white. It is very dilapidated and covered with green plants. The scenic area map on the wall has faded and peeled off, and the incomplete "Welcome" banner hangs in the air. In the dusty sand table model, plastic trees are lying crookedly.

Liu Xia didn't stay for long. He stepped on the overturned guide platform and came to the stairs. He could smell the smell of rat urine and rust in the stairwell.

Climbing up the vine-covered stone stairs all the way to the third floor, the broken glass kept rubbing against the floor tiles under my feet, making a fine and unbearable "crunching" sound.

Finally, near the end of the third floor, I found a lounge with a door. The iron plate on the door was rusted, and I could vaguely tell that it was the lounge for the center's employees.

Looking through the open door, the leather sofa in the room was covered with dust and scratches. A weathered skeleton wearing protective clothing was sitting by the curtains, and the empty eye sockets behind the protective shield were facing her.

Judging from the clothes and weathering of the mummy, this was a hunter who had died here a long time ago, and no one knew how he died here.

Although the stench of the decaying corpse was extremely unpleasant, the overall condition of the room was still relatively well preserved.

Liu Xia entered the room and closed the door again. He then used the metal mop handle in the corner to prop up the door handle, pulled down a few pieces of clothing hanging on the rusty hanger and twisted them together, reinforcing the door handle again.

After struggling for a long time, Liu Xia could feel the blood slowly flowing out of her nose. The white image in front of her eyes almost occupied most of her vision. Now she could hardly see where she was. All her actions were almost based on memory and instinct.

At this point, Liu Xia no longer cared whether it was safe or whether the place was dirty or smelly.

He casually sat down on the sofa to avoid falling to the ground and hitting his head when he lost consciousness. Then he closed his eyes and his consciousness quickly left his body again.

The feeling of dizziness gradually disappeared, and Liu Xia found that everything in front of her eyes was white. Even the bed she was lying on was pure white. Apart from that, there was a white cabinet in the room, and nothing else.

Liu Xia rubbed her still aching head and slowly sat up. There was an IV bottle filled with white liquid hanging on her arm. It was a nutrient solution that supplied the body with necessary nutrients. She had used this thing many times when she was hospitalized before.

Liu Xia recalled that he fell from the 40th floor before losing consciousness, and his injuries must have been very serious.

What happened? He didn’t die?

Liu Xia's mood at this moment was a little subtle. He felt relieved for surviving the disaster, but also felt inexplicably lost.

She was thankful that she was still alive, but sad that she no longer had any friends here.

The fact that Bai Fei betrayed her seemed still fresh in her mind.

Liu Xia looked down at her body. She had been changed into a pure white hospital gown. Apart from that, she did not feel any pain. It was as if the experience of falling from the building was just an illusion and did not cause her any physical damage at all.

But she clearly remembered the pain of having her flesh and bones crushed by the huge force, and the feeling of the hot blood slowly flowing out of her body. These were obviously real events and could not be hallucinations or dreams.

Liu Xia breathed a sigh of relief and got out of bed with her hands on the edge of the bed. There was no unpleasant smell in the room, only a faint smell of disinfectant. The floor was covered with some kind of elastic and soft material, and she did not feel any discomfort when she stepped on the floor barefoot.

"Where is this?"

Liu Xia's mind was full of doubts. She frowned and looked around, and found that the house was not big, only about 20 square meters in total. The walls were all made of white-painted metal partitions, and there were no windows or doors at all.

This room looks like a metal box, and it seems very sturdy.

In addition, there is a separated room in the corner of the house. From the two little men's marks on the room, it can be seen that it should be an independent bathroom.

There is no obvious exit in the entire house. At the four corners of the top of the room, you can vaguely see cameras embedded in the metal partitions, flashing a faint red light.

If it weren't for Liu Xia's sharp eyes, it would have been difficult to notice.

"Am I being monitored?" Liu Xia did not look at the camera deliberately, but wandered around the room aimlessly.

Liu Xia remembered that Bai Fei also fell down the building with her. She also clearly heard the sound of sirens, which meant that the police had arrived at the scene. Why was she here?

Who has the ability to take a seriously injured and unconscious person away from under the police's noses?

Liu Xia pretended not to know that he was being monitored, and silently pondered his current situation. No matter how he looked at it, this room looked like a heavily guarded confinement room, and there was even a separate bathroom for his own use.

It was obvious that the person or organization monitoring her had no intention of letting her go anytime soon.
