Is Chapter 13 Worth It?

After working in the field for a while, Yu Jihong straightened up to rest and noticed that the azaleas on the mountain were in full bloom.

She grinned and stared for a while, then walked to the edge of the field, picked up her daughter, and said, "Come on, let's go pick flowers."

Fang's third brother shouted from behind, "Where are you going? What are you going to do?"

“Go pick flowers on the mountain,” Yu Jihong replied without turning her head.

"You..." Fang Sandi was also worried, so he put away his farm tools and left them by the field. "Sister-in-law, please watch my things for me." He followed them over.

"That's how crazy people are. They don't do any work in the fields, they just run off to pick flowers." The people next to them shook their heads and continued working.

"Come here, give Fang Yu to me." Fang Sandi went over and hugged Fang Yu.

Yu Jihong's daughter, who was brought over, was also registered in Fang San Di's household, taking Fang San Di's surname and named Fang Yu.

Yu Jihong hummed a little tune and occasionally hopped a couple of steps while swinging her arms.

"Third brother, where are you going? Your wife looks so happy." This was said as they passed by someone else's field.

Fang San Di was a little embarrassed to say it aloud, and mumbled, "Go, go up the mountain."

"What's up on the mountain? Two people who don't work in the fields go up the mountain. Hahaha!"

Upon reaching the flowerbed, Yu Jihong bent down slightly, brought her face close to the flowers, and gently inhaled their fragrance, her face filled with a look of rapture.

Whenever she saw a particularly beautiful cluster of azaleas, her eyes would light up, her lips would curl into a surprised smile, and she would carefully pick it, her movements so gentle that she was afraid of hurting the flower.

Before long, she had a large bouquet of azaleas in her hand.

Fang San Di stood beside Fang Yu, staring blankly.

Yu Jihong held the flowers, looked up at the sky and paused, smelled the flowers and paused again, then turned to the side, stretched one leg to the side with the toes touching the ground, lowered her shoulders, smiled and looked ahead for a moment.

It was as if there was a camera in front of me.

She turned to look at Fang Sandi and his daughter, walked over to them, and held the flowers in front of her. "Come on, look ahead and smile."

Fang's third brother was also infected by her smile and laughed along.

"Alright, let's go home."

After picking the flowers, she felt even better.

Holding flowers, humming a little tune, and occasionally spinning around a few times.

By the time we got back to the fields, it was already time to go home and cook lunch.

Other people have already finished most of their work in one morning.

"What a madman! He's ruined an entire morning's work like this."

"He was a madman to begin with."

The villagers nearby, who were packing up their farm tools to go home, were whispering among themselves.

When Yu Jihong got home, she found a few empty bottles, filled them with water, and arranged the flowers in several small bunches.

Put one on the windowsill and one on the table.

Yu Jihong looked at the dining table, moved several bowls of leftover food to the side, and placed one in the middle.

“Don’t put it on the dining table. Who puts flowers next to their dishes?” Fang Sandi said.

"You should put it there; it looks nice." Yu Jihong's lips curled up, her eyes smiling as she stared at the azalea in the center of the dining table, next to several bowls of pickled vegetables.

It seems that this vase of flowers is her favorite arrangement.

After setting everything away, Yu Jihong and Fang Sandi cooked lunch together.

After Yu Jihong came here, Fang Sandi's house changed. Yu Jihong would wash the dishes and chopsticks until they were shiny and put them away neatly.

The farm tools and miscellaneous items that used to be piled up randomly have now been tidied up and moved aside.

Instead of leaving sickles and hoes lying around in the corner, Yu Jihong wipes them clean and hangs them on wooden hooks under the eaves.

The blankets on the bed were clean and tidy.

The azaleas on the windowsill were in full bloom, giving the originally quiet house a more lively feel.

At night, in the tidy house, the blankets were washed clean and still smelled of sunshine, and a pretty woman lay beside me.

Aside from touching Yu Jihong and rubbing against her skin, Fang Sandi couldn't do anything else. He held Yu Jihong, his voice trembling, "If I were a normal man, with you by my side, how wonderful this life would be!"

Yu Jihong stared blankly at the ceiling, gave a bitter smile, closed her eyes, and tears streamed down her cheeks.

She had endured countless nights of anticipation and despair, and she felt numb.

She was mentally prepared for the situation with Fang San Di in bed.

Fang Jihong gritted her teeth, tears streaming down her face again. She didn't know if what she was doing was worth it, but this was all she could do.

The next day, I did the same things as before: making breakfast, doing laundry, and getting ready. I put any flowers I liked in my hair and dressed however I wanted.

Looking at herself in the mirror, her gaze drifted into the distance, as if she were pondering something...

"Mother!"

Fang Yu can already say "Mom" and "Dad" in simple terms. She woke up and sat on the bed.

Fang Yu's shouts pulled her back to reality.

"Wake up! Mom will dress you."
