Chapter 138 You Are My Lucky Star

As soon as get out of class ended, Tang Zebin approached Fang Yu and said, "Fang Yu, you listened attentively in class, and your smile is so beautiful."

"You should listen carefully to the lesson too. This teacher is quite good." Fang Yu was glad that she hadn't been distracted by him and had focused on listening to the lesson; otherwise, she would have missed such wonderful content.

In the next class, Fang Yu didn't care whether Tang Zebin was looking at her or not. She listened attentively to the teacher and took notes.

The engaging and enjoyable class made Fang Yu feel especially good, especially after overcoming her psychological barriers.

After school, Fang Yu was tidying up her books. "Fang Yu, let's have dinner together?" Tang Zebin invited her again.

"No, I've already told my mom I need to go back."

"Let's go ice skating tonight. Do you know how to ice skate?"

Fang Yu shook her head, "I'm not going."

"What do you like to do? Watch movies?"

"I'm not going."

Fang Yu had already packed her books into her bag and walked out of the classroom, and Tang Zebin followed her out.

Fang Yu rode his bike, and he followed beside her, keeping a distance that was always close enough to be able to talk.

Fang Yu felt a little helpless, so she deliberately took a longer route and went around to another street, but Tang Zebin still continued to follow her.

"Don't follow me."

"I'll take you home." Tang Zebin blinked, his tone perfectly natural.

"No need, I can go back by myself."

"It's no trouble at all, it's not like I'll bother you to give you a ride."

Thinking that her mother ran a shop on the street, which wasn't a secret, Fang Yu rode to the shop without any hesitation.

Fang Yu rode her bike to the store entrance, stopped, and went inside. Tang Zebin didn't expect this to be her home and thought she was deliberately not going home and was lingering on the street.

After Tang Zebin stopped his motorcycle, he followed Fang Yu inside. "Mom, someone's watching the clothes," Fang Yu called out deliberately.

"Oh, take a look, young man, who are you showing clothes to?" Yu Jihong immediately greeted him.

Tang Zebin was taken aback, then quickly followed up, "Hehehe, let my mom see it."

"Okay, take a look for yourself, and tell me which one you like."

In front of the parents, Tang Zebin lost his earlier confidence and became a bit reserved; he actually started looking at clothes.

After the customers left the store, Yu Jihong came over and asked, "Young man, what size does your mother wear?"

"What size? I... I don't know?" Tang Zebin scratched his head.

"Go ask first, then come back!" Fang Yu wanted to give him a way out.

But Tang Zebin was too proud to leave so easily. He took out his phone and called his mother, "Mom, what size clothes do you wear? Hmm, I'm looking at some clothes for you."

Tang Zebin's mother on the other end of the phone was also surprised. Her son had never bought her clothes before. "Zebin, what's wrong with you today? Why did you think of buying clothes for your mother?"

"Yes, yes, I saw it on the street and thought it looked nice, so I bought it for you." Tang Zebin said casually, but his eyes secretly glanced at Fang Yu, as if afraid of being exposed for "following a girl to buy clothes".

"No need, no need, Mom will buy it herself." His mother declined verbally, but she was secretly delighted.

"It's okay, I'll buy you one."

After asking about the size, Tang Zebin picked out a top. "Auntie, this is it. My mom is a bit chubby, so she needs a large size." Tang Zebin pretended not to know Fang Yu, so she couldn't let her mom know that she had been following Fang Yu around.

"Young man, you have great taste. This outfit makes you look younger." Yu Jihong praised him as she packed the clothes. "It's rare to find a boy like you these days. You're out shopping and you're already thinking about buying your mom a dress."

While Yu Jihong wasn't looking, Tang Zebin secretly raised his eyebrows at Fang Yu. Fang Yu shrugged, frowned, and gave him a puzzled look. He really did buy clothes.

"Auntie, thank you, goodbye!" Tang Zebin took the bag.

"Okay, goodbye! You're such a good boy, so filial and polite. Take your time, your mom will be so happy to receive the clothes."

Tang Zebin was overjoyed to receive such praise from the mother of the girl he liked.

He hopped on his motorcycle, looked at the bag in his hand—he'd chased a girl to a clothing store and bought his mother a dress. He shook his head and smiled.

“It’s really rare to see a young man these days thinking of buying clothes for his mother!” Yu Jihong said as she went to the back to wash cherries. “The shop next door picked some cherries in the countryside today and gave them to us.”

Fang Yu pursed her lips and didn't say that the boy had come with her.

Tang Zebin returned home with the clothes and handed the chiffon blouse to his mother, saying, "Mom, try it on and see if it fits."

"You really bought it?" Tang Zebin's mother took the clothes. "Wow, these clothes are quite fashionable. You have good taste, kid. Why did you suddenly think of buying clothes for your mother?"

Tang Zebin leaned back on the sofa and said casually, "I saw it when I was passing by and thought it looked nice, so I bought it."

His mother happily changed into the clothes and turned around in front of the mirror.

The champagne color complemented her fair skin, the V-neckline accentuated her neck, and the three-quarter-length flared sleeves concealed any excess fat on her arms. "Son, you have good taste; you really know how to pick something. The size is perfect too."

She smiled and tugged at his shoulder, "You're working, studying through correspondence courses, and socializing with colleagues and classmates. Do you have enough money?"

Tang Zebin mumbled "enough." His mother noticed his evasive gaze, turned around, went to the room, took 1,000 yuan, and stuffed it into his hand. "Take it. Don't be too nervous, young man."

"Mom, no need."

"Take it. You're my only son, and I don't want you to live too stressfully. Spend money where necessary when interacting with colleagues and classmates. Just don't do anything bad, work hard, and study well."

Tang Zebin held the 1,000 yuan in his hand, his heart filled with joy.

He returned to his room and couldn't help but laugh out loud. What was originally a misunderstanding while pursuing a girl had unexpectedly made his mother so happy, and he even got extra pocket money. Lying on his bed, he whispered to the ceiling, "Fang Yu, you really are my lucky star."

After dinner, Tang Zebin went back to his room and paged Fang Yu, having already found out her phone number and workplace.

Fang Yu took the IC card to a public phone booth. "Fang Yu, this is Tang Zebin, this is my number."

"Oh, is there something you need?"

"My mom really likes this dress."

Fang Yu found the clothes amusing, "That's actually quite nice."

"Fang Yu, you are my lucky star. I bought clothes for my mom after you bought them. My mom was so happy that she was worried I didn't have enough money, so she gave me more money. Come out and I'll take you out to play."

"As long as your mom is happy, that's fine. She won't be coming out tonight. I'll go home with her later."

"Why are you still acting like a child, always following your mother around? You're working now, come out and play with your friends."

"No, I don't go out at night."

"Okay, my sweet girl, hang up now and I'll call you back."

"No need, I can't hog a public phone for too long. I'm going back now, that's fine."

"Fang Yu, I've fallen for you."

Fang Yu blushed. "You, you, we just met today."
