Chapter 137 You think I agreed to the divorce because I'm letting you off the hook?
Zhong Yan brought out the breakfast and said casually, "That's too much."
Ji Tanyuan sat up straight and arranged the plate properly.
She picked up a salmon slice with a fork and said as she did so, "That's terrible, so many people want us to get a divorce."
He said it was terrible, but his expression didn't reflect it at all.
Zhong Yan: "You don't look angry at all."
Ji Tanyuan: "Ah, I am someone who doesn't show my emotions."
In fact, she really didn't care. She was the one who caused the divorce, not someone else who "talked" about it.
In just one year, from being married to being divorced, her state of mind didn't actually change much.
It was nothing more than a brief entry into a home, where I experienced my second bizarre family of origin.
She should feel lucky to have gotten a divorce.
It went more smoothly than she had imagined, and she knew that Zhong Yan's cooperation was part of it.
Zhong Yan picked up his coffee, looked out the window, and said nothing more.
His aloof and handsome profile was bathed in a golden halo from the rising sun, yet he still exuded no warmth.
Clearly, he was not in a good mood and was not enthusiastic.
It wasn't just a lack of enthusiasm; it was downright stifling.
He doesn't want to divorce, not at all.
But everything was ready, the papers were signed, and all that was left was to get the marriage certificate.
They didn't give us any time to react.
"Wait a minute," Ji Tanyuan suddenly said.
Zhong Yan lifted her eyelids. "What?"
"Today is Saturday, the Civil Affairs Bureau is closed."
Zhong Yan closed his eyes, thinking she had changed her mind.
"I'm going back to Yanjing Lane."
That's fine too. He didn't want to go to the Civil Affairs Bureau to get a divorce with Ji Tanyuan; it would be too painful.
However, the agreement only becomes effective upon divorce registration; even a sham divorce is not allowed.
If they don't divorce, neither he nor Ji Tanyuan will have a good life. Playing with stock market investors is unacceptable.
Thinking of this, Zhong Yan became even angrier. The struggle between reason and emotion was driving him crazy.
Ji Tanyuan nodded, "Then you do it."
After she finished speaking, she added, "You're not going to make a fake one to fool me, are you?"
Zhong Yan laughed, "I've figured it out, Ji Tanyuan, your heart and your world are both about the company."
Ji Tanyuan took a bite of vegetables, looked up when she heard this, and said, "If I don't care about the company, how can I make money to buy you a watch? If you don't care about the company, how can you make money to buy me an island?"
"Look at the way you're acting, like I've let you down. Have I let you down?"
Clearly, Miss Ji's temper flared up, and her beautiful face turned somewhat cold.
Zhong Yan: "You don't believe me at all."
"Didn't you think about it just now?" Ji Tanyuan retorted.
Zhong Yan choked, too lazy to argue anymore, "Then it's a deal, divorce but not separation."
Ji Tanyuan: "???"
Her voice was skeptical: "When did I say that!"
Zhong Yan said without changing his expression, "Last night."
Finally, he narrowed his eyes slightly, a dangerous aura emanating from him. "Have you forgotten?"
"It's okay, I'll remind you again, it was right in front of the French windows."
As he spoke, he reached out to pull her away, which startled Ji Tanyuan, who stood up and dodged.
"I see."
"Anyway, I wasn't sober last night, so you can say whatever you want."
Zhong Yan was the scoundrel who used his skills to confuse her and then started making up lies to bully her, leaving her with no choice but to suffer in silence.
Zhong Yan admitted that he did indeed "take advantage of someone's misfortune."
But can we blame him? Last night, he kept saying he was looking for wild ducks.
Do you know what you said last night?
Ji Tanyuan blinked; she had forgotten.
Taking advantage of her distraction, Zhong Yan moved closer to her, placed his hand on her waist, and pushed her into his arms:
"You said you were going to sleep with other men."
Ji Tanyuan remembered, "Then whose fault is it? It's you."
"What did I do wrong? Anyway, you didn't say anything, did you?" Zhong Yan said lazily, pinching her chin.
The two of them are currently in a state of mutual retreat and advance, trying to gain the upper hand in the argument.
Zhong Yan kissed her chin. "We agreed that you wouldn't find other men."
"If I'm cooperating with your divorce, you naturally have to cooperate with me too, wife."
"If I find out that our relationship hasn't improved after the divorce and you've actually gotten out of the house, then we'll remarry."
Ji Tanyuan laughed and said, "You still want a future with me, huh?"
Zhong Yan was shocked. "What did you think?"
"You think I'm doing all this to give you freedom, right?"
His hands were trembling with anger. "Ji Tanyuan!"
He gritted his teeth: "You think I agreed to the divorce because I'm letting you off the hook?"
It's all for the sake of getting you, and to prevent his family from holding him back.
Zhong Yan didn't believe that someone as insightful as Ji Tanyuan wouldn't know his attitude.
It can only be said that this brat is trying to rip him off again, dumping him directly.
Ji Tanyuan's shoulder pain could be seen as a sign of Zhong Yan's suppressed anger.
She felt a tiny, delightful elation inside, like a sweet, cool water soothing her heart and soul, refreshing and invigorating, making her eyes clear and bright.
At this moment, Ji Tanyuan's eyes lit up. She felt a sense of accomplishment, as if she had finally confirmed that he was finally captivated by her. It was a sudden emotion that was hard to hide.
But unfortunately...
Zhong Yan messed up at this point, his IQ and EQ both dropped, his mind was filled with Ji Tanyuan's reneging on her promise, her lack of appreciation for his cooperation, efforts and concessions, and her talk of a real parting of ways.
Zhong Yan's expression grew increasingly cold. Ji Tanyuan snapped out of her daze and, before things became irreversible, quickly said:
"No."
"Shouldn't we assess the situation first?"
"You're not omnipotent, and neither am I. Can you please stop overthinking things?"
Zhong Yan narrowed his eyes, "Swear an oath, swear on the interests of your company."
Ji Tanyuan looked at him incredulously: "Zhong Yan, you're so naive."
Zhong Yan straightened up, turned around and sat on the sofa, looking relaxed. "If you don't let me feel at ease, I won't get a divorce. But falsely announcing the divorce would be a bad example for the person in charge of the company, and you would be fined. It would also affect your reputation."
At this point, he clicked his tongue twice, "President Ji, you have to be honest, with me, with the shareholders, and with your employees."
Ji Tanyuan cursed her husband in her heart.
"You will be affected too."
Zhong Yan hummed in agreement. "But I can recover, while you might not. Who told me I was born into such a privileged family? I was born right in the capital, don't you think?"
Ji Tanyuan thought to herself, "How shameless! So shameless!"
Ji Tanyuan gritted her teeth, then held up four fingers. "I swear."
Zhong Yan clicked his tongue, stood up, and pressed her little finger down: "Don't try to find loopholes, this is what a proper oath should be."
Ji Tanyuan turned her head to look at the three fingers she was holding up: "Okay, I swear."
"What should I send?" Ji Tanyuan asked.
Zhong Yan thought for a moment, "They can't just ignore me after we get divorced, otherwise Zidian will go bankrupt."
Ji Tanyuan pursed her lips and remained silent; it was too vicious.
"You are truly vicious, Zhong Yan. You also own shares in Zidian. Given your impulsive behavior and childish thinking, what future do we have? Get out of here."
He put his hand down and turned to leave.
Oh no, this has forced Ji Tanyuan to use foul language.
Zhong Yan exclaimed, "Shouldn't you be the one comforting me now?"
He chuckled, hugged her from behind, and kissed her cheek: "Are you angry? So, Miss Ji, you had this plan in mind, huh?"
"No, I haven't thought about it, I haven't thought about our future."
These days, all she can think about is the group's business.
There was simply no time to think about anything else; only in the quiet of the night could she calm down and reflect on her relationship with Zhong Yan.
But I can't figure it out.
If Ji Tanyuan couldn't think of something, she stopped thinking about it.
Zhong Yan pinched her chin and leaned in to kiss her, his deep, exquisite eyes filled with helplessness.
"That's alright, I'll think of something."
