Su Jiaoniang turned around and met Lu Wujiu's gaze.
The man's gaze was strange, as if he was reflecting on something, and finally Ruth suddenly realized.
I don't know what I've figured out.
Seeing that Xiao Ya was engrossed in the epic love story she had fabricated, Su Jiaoniang carried her basket and walked towards Doctor Liu's house. Doctor Liu was the most skilled at processing medicinal herbs.
You can't just see a black bear whenever you want.
To encounter a wild animal once and successfully kill a black bear is considered very lucky.
When Doctor Liu saw the bear whip, he excitedly snatched it from Su Jiaoniang's hand. His eyes turned red, and he examined it with great care, turning it over and over as if he were looking at his beloved woman.
Su Jiaoniang's lips twitched violently as she watched Doctor Liu's actions.
Men are truly terrifying!
"How is Gu Lin?" Su Jiaoniang asked casually.
Dr. Liu coughed lightly: "His sister took him away. He'll survive, but he can't do heavy work or hunt anymore!" He shook his head after saying that. He was too young to do heavy work; he'd have to suffer in the future!
Su Jiaoniang stopped caring after hearing that the person had been taken away.
She took the bear bones and meat out of the basket and put them aside, saying, "You should take good care of these things; they were so hard to make."
Doctor Liu put away the bear whip in his hand, looked at Su Jiaoniang, coughed lightly, and put on an upright and honest appearance: "I understand, you can go back now!"
Su Jiaoniang went back home.
As I gently closed the door, I could still hear Dr. Liu chuckling inside.
It sounded rather lewd no matter how you looked at it. My lips twitched slightly as I returned home in the chilly autumn wind.
When Su Jiaoniang returned home, she met Fu Tu's strange gaze and asked, "Are your eyes sick?"
“I’m not sick!” Su Jiaoniang said.
Fu Tu hesitated for a moment, but finally couldn't help but ask, "Mother, didn't you only find out that the person you married was my father after you went to the bridal chamber?"
"..." Smart kids are too hard to fool.
Su Jiaoniang's scalp tingled: "Can't you just treat this as a story? I love imagining you and your father making vows of eternal love, living in perfect harmony, going through countless twists and turns, and finally being separated forever. Isn't that tragic? Doesn't it make your heart ache? If it does, then don't delve into the details."
Futu nodded and did not ask any further questions.
It's pathetic to have so many love stories running through your mind!
Futu stopped caring about adult matters. He was a child, and a fatherless one at that. He was pitiful too.
Lu Wujiu's gaze fell on the three people in the courtyard.
The older one was completely bewildered, the younger one was innocent and naive, and the younger one was so clever that he was beyond his years. If he weren't the regent, he would definitely stay here.
There's someone to accompany me for three meals a day, someone to eat porridge with.
The most ordinary is the best!
"Aren't you envious? Do you want to be a part of it?" Changsheng appeared behind him and spoke softly.
The child's eyes looked familiar.
He was usually the one who looked at Changsheng this way, but at this moment, Changsheng was looking at him with this kind of gaze.
What do you call this, "disappointed that they're not living up to their potential"?
Lu Wujiu sighed helplessly; life is truly full of helplessness.
Su Jiaoniang walked towards the kitchen. The children in the family were all treated like royalty. She glanced back at Futu Xiaoya and asked, "Shall we pick persimmons together tomorrow?"
"Yes, yes!" Xiao Ya nodded hurriedly. She had been selling cold noodles for many days in a row, and there was a wild horse in her heart that wanted to leap freely.
Going up the mountain would be nice too.
He looked at Su Jiaoniang and said, "Mother, the shop in our county town is all set up. We can rest for a few days before starting work again. Gouhua is free these days too. Can we work together?"
"Sure!" The children all have their own friends now.
It's a very happy thing!
The next morning.
The leaves on the ground were tinged white by the frost, and from a distance, the ground looked as clean as if it were covered with frost.
Su Jiaoniang pushed open the door and saw Changsheng Futu Xiaoya and Hu Niu, each carrying a small basket on their backs, with several pairs of bright eyes looking at her.
"Mother, let's go pick persimmons." The little girl tugged at Su Jiaoniang's hand.
Su Jiaoniang glanced at the sky, which was just beginning to brighten.
It's still so early, why are we already heading up the mountain?
But when faced with the children's expectant eyes, well, breakfast is nothing compared to the fun of a picnic.
I brought some salt, oil, and pepper from the kitchen, put them in a basket, and took the children up the mountain.
Lu Wujiu followed behind the adults and children at a distance that was neither too close nor too far.
Like a family on an autumn outing, the shortest girl slowly fell behind as soon as they reached the top of the mountain. She put her small basket in front of her and gritted her teeth as she continued up the mountain.
Lu Wujiu reached out and scooped the little girl up, placing her on his arm, while the small basket fell onto the child's back.
The little girl in the pink dress, with her hair in a small bun, was being held by a tall man as sturdy as a pine tree. The little girl lowered her head, pouted her lips, and kissed Lu Wujiu on the cheek.
"Little Ya likes Mr. Gu," the little girl said.
A smile flashed in Lu Wujiu's eyes, and his steps became lighter in that instant.
Su Jiaoniang turned around and saw Lu Wujiu's eyes, which shone like stars.
His lips curved into a smile, the fake skin on his face making his smile seem less genuine, but his expressive eyes brought her joy and happiness.
This kind of man seems rather handsome.
My heart skipped a beat.
Suddenly, her skirt was tugged, and Futu said, "Mother, I'm tired too."
The child pursed his lips, his face was cold, and his dark, grape-like eyes held a hint of stubbornness.
