She trembled with excitement: "Fu Nanxiao..."
Fu Nanxiao's gaze fell on her, and a surge of anger instantly rose in his deep eyes.
How dare they treat her like that!
Fu Nanxiao's eyes flashed with murderous intent.
He had just taken a step forward when the tall man suddenly pulled a dagger from his pocket and held it against Jiang Yilai's neck: "Don't come any closer!"
Jiang Yilai was forced to raise her head.
Blood started flowing again.
The bright red blood stung Fu Nanxiao's eyes and his heart.
Bang!
He threw the person he was holding to the ground.
It's that tattooed man.
At this moment, he was no longer the arrogant man he had been threatening. His arms and legs were riddled with bullets, and he lay on the ground, barely clinging to life.
The tall man looked on, a hint of fear flashing in his eyes.
Fu Nanxiao's eyes were dark and filled with anger: "Release her, and I'll spare your life."
"Get out! Leave the car behind and back one kilometer! Otherwise, I'll stab her to death right now!" the tall man shouted frantically.
His hand trembled as he shouted, the blade piercing his flesh, and Jiang Yilai winced in pain.
Fu Nanxiao was heartbroken.
"Alright! Back off, all of you, get out!" he commanded, ordering everyone behind him to leave.
Fu Nanxiao didn't leave. He threw the gun away, raised his hands, and stared at the tall man with his bloodshot eyes to negotiate: "I am Fu Nanxiao. You can get more money by holding me hostage. Release her and I will go with you!"
Jiang Yilai's heart tightened: "No!"
"Shut up!"
The tall man ordered his henchman, "Go pick up the gun and tie him up!"
The henchman replied, "Yes."
He walked to a spot not far from Fu Nanxiao, bent down, and picked up the gun.
The tall man relaxed for a moment when he saw the henchman's hand touch the gun.
Just then!
With a loud bang, the tall man suddenly let out a scream!
Fu Nanxiao rushed over with lightning speed, snatched the tall man's dagger, and kicked him away.
Another gunshot rang out, and the tall man fell to the ground.
Fu Nanxiao raised his hand, cut the rope, and hugged Jiang Yilai tightly.
"It's alright, it's alright."
He himself didn't realize that his voice was trembling.
Everything happened so fast. Jiang Yilai was held in his arms, and tears kept falling down her face.
But before she could even savor the joy of surviving a close call, she caught a glimpse out of the corner of her eye of the henchman raising his gun and aiming it at Fu Nanxiao—
"careful!"
"Bang!"
Gunshots rang out simultaneously.
Jiang Yilai's mind went blank. She didn't have time to think and pushed Fu Nanxiao away forcefully.
She was stunned, her whole body trembling like a leaf.
Jiang Yilai looked at Fu Nanxiao.
He had only been married to her for a few months, but she seemed to have loved him for a long time.
She wanted to be with him.
But she...
it hurts.
In the last second before losing consciousness, Jiang Yilai saw Fu Nanxiao's face filled with shock, anger, fear, and panic.
So he can be afraid too?
This was her last thought.
In the hospital.
Outside the emergency room, Fu Nanxiao sat in a chair, looking like a statue.
He looked at his hands.
It was covered in blood.
Is it the kidnapper's or Jiang Yilai's?
This is the first time in over twenty years that he has been unable to think rationally.
"Boss, all three kidnappers are still alive," Qi Yuheng reported cautiously as he approached.
Fu Nanxiao, however, seemed not to hear.
He looked up stiffly: "Do you think Jiang Yilai will die?"
Before Qi Yuheng could answer, he shook his head: "No, no, how could she die?"
She just told him she liked him today.
They haven't even been properly together yet, how can she die?
