The kidnappers originally intended to use Mei Yin as a hostage to escape smoothly, but they didn't expect that Old Madam Gu no longer cared.
He grabbed Gu Nianqiang by the shoulder and threatened again: "If I die today, I'll take someone down with me. If you don't let me leave, I'll have no choice but to kill her."
He was about to strike when he cut his skin with the knife, and Mei Yin screamed in fright. There was still no response from Grandma Gu.
Even Gu Ming'en's face showed a hint of panic, but Old Madam Gu remained calm and composed.
Mei Yin never expected the old lady to ignore her like this, and cried out in anguish, "Grandma, are you really so heartless? I'm in so much pain, please save me."
Grandma Gu pointed out, "Actually, when you brought us here, you didn't intend to leave any survivors, did you?"
Myne closed her eyes; all her thoughts had been guessed, and she didn't want to say anything more in defense.
She never expected that the old woman was so shrewd and had already seen through everything.
And I am nothing more than a pawn in her game.
The kidnappers certainly wouldn't dare to actually kill anyone, otherwise their crime would be compounded.
They are being instructed by others, and even if they are caught, they won't be sentenced to more than two years as long as they are sincere.
Grandma Gu's sharp gaze fell on the kidnapper, and she said coldly, "You only have one choice now: put down your knife and turn yourself in, or kill her and be sentenced to death."
At this point, these people finally realized that the truly ruthless person involved was Old Mrs. Gu.
Mei Yin finally understood why the domineering Du Yi was afraid of this old woman, and why Gu Nianqiang couldn't handle her either.
It is precisely because of her ruthless methods that she is unpredictable.
The kidnapper released the knife from his hand and turned to run, but was stopped by bodyguards who were lying in ambush.
Myne collapsed to the ground, knowing that she had lost miserably this time.
Grandma Gu stepped forward and saw a shallow wound on her neck.
Does it hurt?
Myne knelt up and rushed forward to hug her legs.
"Grandma, I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done this. I deserve to die. Please let me go."
Grandma Gu took a step back, causing her to miss her target. She frowned as she looked at her disheveled appearance.
"Come back to China with me and explain everything."
"No, I can't go back. You can punish me however you want, just don't take me back."
Grandma Gu stared at her with a scrutinizing gaze and questioned, "You don't want to betray your accomplices? I know you can't possibly have that much ability on your own. Who is working with you from the inside?"
Grandma Gu immediately had a target in mind and pressed her for details: "Is this person Gu Nianqiang?"
When Gu Ming'en heard this name, a strange look flashed in his eyes. He could certainly understand this guess.
Myne shook her head: "It has nothing to do with her. I did all of this on my own."
"You alone? Where did you get the keepsake and the DNA?" Old Mrs. Gu's tone was already somewhat angry. She no longer wanted to pursue this question; she just wanted to know the answer.
Mayne lied and said, "Actually, your granddaughter is dead. She was my former roommate. She told me about these things and happened to see the missing person notice, so she wanted to impersonate her."
Grandma Gu swayed, and Gu Ming'en quickly helped her up.
"Mom, don't worry. Don't believe her. Take her back to China for investigation and everything will be clear. She might be trying to mislead us."
A sharp glint flashed in Old Mrs. Gu's eyes as she glared fiercely at Mei Yin. If she was still lying to her at this point, she would be truly guilty of an unforgivable crime.
