Chapter 97 Apology

After saying that, she turned to leave.

Seeing that she wouldn't listen to reason or threats, Jiang Weijie's expression darkened.

He suddenly stood up: "Jiang Yilai, this building was built by your mother after attending countless dinners, making countless trips to banks, and communicating repeatedly with designers and workers! She originally wanted to leave the building to you. If you want to let her hopes go to waste, then just sit idly by!"

Jiang Yilai paused in her steps.

Seeing her stop, Jiang Weijie gritted his teeth and finally told the truth: "Your mother originally planned to give this building as your dowry. Before the marriage, I was holding it for you... If you can get the investment, I will transfer the building to you!"

Jiang Yilai felt utterly disgusted and slammed the door shut as she left without looking back.

As soon as she left, the gloom on Jiang Weijie's face dissipated.

He smiled and took a sip of his coffee.

He knew his daughter's personality best; whenever her mother was involved, it was like he had her Achilles' heel.

She will definitely find a way to come up with the money.

...

Jiang Yilai stormed out of the Jiang family compound, seething with anger.

She was furious.

The Jiang family mansion was her dowry left to her by her mother, but Jiang Weijie never mentioned it and even forced her to marry a person in a vegetative state.

If the building hadn't been mortgaged and he hadn't needed to use her to obtain investment from the Li family, he would never have told her about it!

How could there be a father like Jiang Weijie in this world!

Long-held questions resurfaced in my mind.

Is she really Jiang Weijie's biological daughter?

Feeling distressed, Jiang Yilai returned to the Fu family with a cold expression.

As soon as she entered the door, Uncle Liu whispered to her, "Madam, you're finally back. We have guests at home."

Jiang Yilai was taken aback: "Who is it?"

"I don't know them. They're a man and a woman. The master told them to wait in the living room and that you should come over as soon as you get back."

Jiang Yilai felt uneasy.

She changed her shoes and went into the living room.

Fu Nanxiao leaned back on the sofa, looking down at the documents in his hand.

His eyes were deep-set, his face was aloof, yet he exuded a fierce aura that made people hold their breath and dare not be presumptuous.

Hearing the noise, he calmly raised his eyes and said, "Come here."

As soon as he spoke, the two people who had their backs to the door turned around.

Jiang Yilai recognized the person who had arrived, and a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes.

A man and a woman were sitting on the sofa. The man was middle-aged and looked unfamiliar.

But she recognized the woman.

It was Song Qianxue.

Song Qianxue was no longer the arrogant and domineering woman she had been in the mall recently. Her eyes were red and filled with fear.

But the moment he saw Jiang Yilai, a strong resentment suddenly burst forth in his eyes.

Jiang Yilai walked over without changing her expression.

Fu Nanxiao patted the seat next to him: "Sit down."

After sitting down, he casually glanced at the two people in front of him and said, "Speak."

“Mrs. Fu, I am Song Zhicai, Qianxue’s father.” The middle-aged man glanced at Jiang Yilai before smiling and said, “It’s all my fault for not raising my daughter properly. Qianxue is ignorant and did such a terrible thing to you. Today I brought her here to ask for your forgiveness.”

He spoke eloquently, but one could see a subtle air of arrogance in his eyes.

Jiang Yilai frowned.

She thought they were talking about what happened in the mall.

But the incident at the mall happened several days ago, and Fu Nanxiao had already helped her out of that predicament.

If they wanted to apologize, they would have come long ago; why wait until now?

Moreover, judging from the way the father and daughter looked, they didn't seem to be doing this willingly.

Jiang Yilai was puzzled and couldn't help but glance at Fu Nanxiao.
