Jiang Yilai has gotten to where she is today through her own abilities, and she has long had the idea of going solo.
She simply expressed her gratitude to the headquarters for the opportunity to cultivate and train her, and wanted to repay them for a few more years before making any further plans.
However, the argument that happened today made her consider ending it early, and she'll see how headquarters handles it in the end.
"Director Jiang, I just passed by the reception room where the family members were staying. They were heartbroken. Their only son has passed away, and now they've encountered this kind of tragedy. Putting myself in their shoes, they truly deserve our sympathy."
"That's why I put the case aside first; I was afraid of helping the wrong person."
"Then would you like to be their lawyer?"
I thought Jiang Yilai would definitely agree, but to my surprise, she shook her head.
"No, this matter is not as simple as it seems. I will make a decision after I have grasped all the truth. You continue to collect information. I need to go to the police station later."
While I sympathize with the couple, the law prioritizes the facts.
Zhang Yue nodded in understanding and leaned forward to say something unrelated to the topic.
"Director Jiang, if you ever decide to leave, please remember to take me with you."
Jiang Yilai laughed and said, "What are you thinking about, you little brat?"
“I’ve worked as an assistant to several senior lawyers at the firm, and none of them have ever taught me like you have, and so gently too.”
"Everyone has a different personality and different ways of doing things. It just so happens that my way of doing things works for you."
"I like how you speak so politely and gently, yet your tone is undeniably neither humble nor arrogant. I want to learn from you in the future."
“I’m happy that I can bring you these good feelings. We work well together, so of course I’ll take it with me wherever I go.”
These words reassured Zhang Yue, and she nodded happily.
"Thank you, Director Jiang. I'll head out now. Please let me know if you need anything."
"Okay, go ahead!"
Jiang Yilai genuinely thought Zhang Yue was quite good. She was serious and proactive in her work, and although she could be a little absent-minded at times, she was kind-hearted, which was a quality a good lawyer needed to possess.
Jiang Yilai doesn't want her to one day abandon her conscience for money and defend those evil people.
Jiang Yilai was so busy that she didn't have time to stretch and rest on the table until evening.
Unexpectedly, after she took over the law firm, the number of cases gradually increased.
What's worse is that most of her clients request that she be their defense attorney, which means there's even more to investigate and verify, leaving her with simply not enough time.
The phone on the table rang, startling her.
The main issue was that with my ear pressed against the table, the sudden vibration made my scalp tingle.
However, when she glanced at the number, she immediately realized that she had forgotten something.
She answered the phone, grabbed her coat, and went outside.
"Nan Xiao, I'm sorry I was too busy and forgot to come pick you up."
"No need to rush, I'm already downstairs at your law firm. You can give me a ride home."
Hearing this, Jiang Yilai stopped in her tracks, a warmth igniting in her heart.
I thought he was blaming me for not picking him up, but I didn't expect him to have already come over.
As Jiang Yilai walked out of the gate, she saw Fu Nanxiao's car parked at the intersection.
As I approached him, I saw that his injured hand was still wrapped in thick bandages, which was hardly a cause for celebration.
Fu Nanxiao noticed her gaze and smiled, "Just consider it a badge. After all, this is a good opportunity for me to get closer to you, so it's not a bad thing."
"You really know how to comfort yourself." Jiang Yilai was completely impressed.
