Ye Ningwan nodded slightly in satisfaction.
"Good to know!"
While the two were still deeply in love, Pei Mingzhu, who was lying on the ground clutching her wrist and groaning, couldn't help but feel even more pained. Pei Mingzhu was kicked by Ye Ningwan, but instead of shutting up, she cried even more bitterly.
Ye Ningwan was annoyed by Pei Mingzhu's calls, and raised her foot to kick Pei Mingzhu again.
"Why are you crying? What are you yelling for? Damn it, I'm only sparing your life because you're Pei Fengzhi's older sister!"
Pei Fengzhi reacted quickly, reaching out to wrap his arms around Ye Ningwan's waist, pulling her back into his embrace. He lowered his head to kiss her forehead and whispered something.
"Wanwan, don't be angry."
Ye Ningwan snorted softly; she was simply unhappy with how Pei Mingzhu treated Pei Fengzhi.
But then they heard Pei Mingzhu start crying for Fang Ruotang again.
Ye Ningwan was getting really impatient.
She nudged Pei Mingzhu with her toe and questioned her in a low voice.
"What's wrong with Fang Ruotang? Why are you howling like that? Are you wailing in mourning?!"
Pei Mingzhu raised her head, her gaze sharp and cold as she stared at Ye Ningwan standing in front of her, and she hissed through bared teeth.
"Shut up! You're talking nonsense! My daughter will wake up! She will come back to life! She will be like Pei Fengzhi, no matter how long it takes, I will wait for her! No matter how long it takes, I will wait forever!"
Pei Mingzhu's cries were shrill and echoed like ghosts howling in the empty living room.
Ye Ningwan wasn't here earlier, so she didn't know what Pei Mingzhu had said, but she could now guess the gist of it from Pei Mingzhu's few words.
She broke free from Pei Fengzhi's embrace, walked up to Pei Mingzhu, and looked down at Pei Mingzhu, who was standing at her feet, with a cold disdain.
"Pei Mingzhu, I have a way to save your daughter."
