Ye Ruoxin blurted it out almost with a grim expression.
"Ye Ningwan, what nonsense are you spouting! How can you be so self-righteous..."
Before she could finish speaking, Ye Ningwan interrupted her abruptly.
"It's my own stuff, of course I have nothing to hide!"
After saying that, Ye Ningwan suddenly took off the backpack on her back, unzipped it, and dumped the crumpled jewelry inside onto the ground.
The jewelry and ornaments clattered and fell to the ground, lying naked at Pei Minghan's feet.
Pei Minghan subconsciously looked down at the jewelry at his feet, his already furrowed brows furrowing even more, his gaze darkening, leaving one wondering what he was thinking.
Faced with Pei Minghan's silence, Ye Ningwan turned to look at him, a forced smile playing on her lips.
"Do you want me to point them out to you one by one, Young Master Pei?"
Pei Minghan finally frowned, looking at Ye Ningwan with displeasure, and said in a lukewarm tone.
"Ye Ningwan, do you always have to speak so veiledly? No one here has offended you, but you're always so prickly that it's impossible for anyone to talk to you properly!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Ningwan couldn't help but laugh out loud.
This is absolutely ridiculous!
Pei Minghan met Ye Ningwan's sarcastic smile, her brows furrowing deeper as she questioned her.
"why are you laughing?"
Laugh at your stupidity!
Ye Ningwan did not say these words aloud.
She was still smiling, her cat-like eyes gleaming with a cold light, and within that cold light, tiny specks of light flickered, blurring her vision.
"No one has offended me? Do you even have the right to say that, Pei Minghan!"
“Ever since Ye Ruoxin appeared, it’s as if I’ve committed an unforgivable crime. You all think I should give way to her because I’ve occupied her position for so many years, and it’s only natural that whatever she does to me or takes away anything from me!”
Her voice suddenly rose.
"But why?!"
"I was just adopted by the Ye family to replace Ye Ruoxin as an emotional support. No one ever asked my opinion! No one ever asked if I was willing, and then they arrogantly pronounced my sins."
"Who stole whose life?!"
"Shouldn't I live in this world with dignity?"
Ye Ningwan walked towards Pei Minghan step by step.
Pei Minghan subconsciously took a step back, but Ye Ningwan suddenly grabbed her collar and pulled her forcefully in front of her.
Pei Minghan's face turned ugly, and Ye Ruoxin also screamed in alarm.
"Ye Ningwan, what are you trying to do! Don't hurt Minghan!"
Ye Ningwan forced a smile that looked more like a grimace.
Tears finally welled up in her eyes and spilled out uncontrollably, rolling down and landing heavily on the back of Pei Minghan's hand.
The burning sensation on the back of his hand startled Pei Minghan. He looked at Ye Ningwan's face, which was wet with tears, pale as if washed, yet stubborn.
Despite being covered in thorns, it is so fragile that it breaks your heart.
Pei Minghan felt a sudden, suffocating pain rise in his chest. In that instant, he silently raised his hand to stop Ye Ruoxin, who was trying to pull Ye Ningwan away, and stared intently at Ye Ningwan.
"Wanwan, I..."
Pei Minghan was about to speak when Ye Ningwan abruptly interrupted her.
"Pei Minghan, if you want to take back what you gave me, I can return it all to you! After that, it's your freedom to give it to whomever you want!"
"However, I will not allow Ye Ruoxin to blatantly steal what rightfully belongs to me!"
Her piercing gaze fixed on Pei Minghan as she questioned him, each word distinct and deliberate.
"So now, do you want me to return these things to you, Young Master Pei?"
Ye Ningwan abruptly pushed away the man she was holding, her eyes filled with disgust and loathing.
Pei Minghan staggered back two steps, and Ye Ruoxin immediately stepped forward to support him.
"Minghan, are you alright?"
Pei Minghan pushed her away forcefully.
"Get away!"
Throughout the entire process, his gaze remained fixed on Ye Ningwan, and his eyes gradually reddened.
After a while, he seemed to have finally calmed his turbulent emotions, bent down, and picked up the jewelry pieces one by one from the ground.

"Minghan!"

How could he remember so much about his past with Ye Ningwan? How could he remember every single gift he had given her? How could he...?
Ye Ruoxin felt as if her heart was about to suffocate.
What do you mean by that?
She clearly... she clearly had already won over Pei Minghan, so why did Pei Minghan still remember Ye Ningwan so clearly?
