"Ambulance! Call an ambulance right now!"
A heart-wrenching sound filled the living room. The maid waiting at the door heard the commotion, quickly pushed the door open to take a look, and then ran out as fast as she could.
Ye Ningwan watched as these people were so anxious that most of them were running around like headless flies, and no one was giving Old Master Pei proper first aid.
Ye Ningwan rolled her eyes and pushed aside the crowd blocking her way.
"Make way! Make way! Don't crowd together, give the patient some breathing space! Everyone, make way!"
Ye Ningwan forcefully pushed Pei Minghao, who was blocking her way, and sat down on the sofa. She reached out and grasped Old Master Pei's wrist, pressing it against his pulse.
Pei Minghao was pushed by Ye Ningwan, and his wheelchair was pushed to a corner. Pei Minghao roared and cursed at Ye Ningwan.
"Ye Ningwan, how dare you push me?!"
Ye Ningwan didn't even turn her head, and said sarcastically in an annoyed tone.
"What use is someone in a wheelchair like you? Besides blocking the road and cutting in line, what else can you do?"
Just as Pei Minghao was about to unleash a torrent of curses after being cornered by Ye Ningwan, Pei Minghan grabbed his shoulder and stopped him with a serious expression.
"Minghao, Grandpa is already like this, stop making a fuss."
Pei Minghao raised his head and roared angrily at his older brother in dissatisfaction.
"Was it me causing trouble? It was Ye Ningwan who deliberately picked a fight."
Before Pei Minghao could finish speaking, Ye Ningwan suddenly took out a gold needle and stuck it into the inside of Old Master Pei's wrist.
Pei Minghao was immediately shocked.
"Ye Ningwan, what are you doing! How dare you lay a hand on Grandpa! Guards, seize this bitch..."
Before Pei Minghao could finish speaking, Old Master Pei, who had been unconscious, suddenly coughed a few times, opened his eyes, and coldly reprimanded Pei Minghao.
"Shut up!"
"Cough cough cough..."
Pei Minghao immediately fell silent. He had always been afraid of being associated with Old Master Pei, and now he dared not utter another word.
Pei Minghan had no choice but to offer an explanation for him.
"Grandpa, Hao was just worried about you. He didn't mean it."
Ye Ningwan scoffed.
"Then he's really stupid. He doesn't even know about acupuncture in traditional Chinese medicine. I wonder if he even graduated from elementary school. If not, he should go back to school for a refresher course."
Pei Minghan's expression darkened, and Pei Minghao gritted his teeth in hatred, but because Old Master Pei was there, he could only secretly give Ye Ningwan the middle finger.
Ye Ningwan pretended not to see it, stood up, and helped Old Master Pei sit up.
The young lady, surnamed Pei, immediately gave Old Master Pei an emergency heart-saving pill.
"Dad, calm down. We all just want the best for the family. We're not targeting anyone on purpose."
Old Master Pei's expression softened considerably. He coughed a few more times, pushed away Miss Pei's hand, and snorted coldly.
"You say you're not targeting anyone in particular? I think you're all here specifically to target Pei Fengzhi! You're all up to no good, trying to bully him to death! I don't think his car accident back then was an accident..."
Upon hearing this, the expressions of those present turned sour.
Miss Pei immediately stopped Old Master Pei from saying what he was about to say next.
"Dad, please don't say things that aren't based on evidence. Saying too much will hurt our feelings!"
When Grandpa Pei gets angry, he won't listen to anyone.
He slammed his hand on the armrest and said sternly.
"No matter what, this family must remain intact, and I will never expel anyone from the family register!"
"I've made up my mind, and nothing you can say will change my mind!"
Miss Pei was at her wit's end. She looked up at the people from the first and second branches of the family, and seeing that Madam Pei was about to say something, she secretly shook her head at her, signaling her not to act impulsively.
Madam Pei frowned, but ultimately did not speak.
But Miss Pei remained calm and composed, seemingly confident that she could achieve her goals for the day, and thus continued to act as a peacemaker by Old Master Pei's side.
Ye Ningwan secretly glanced at Miss Pei, whom she had only met once, and didn't quite understand how the other party could be so certain.
Although she was puzzled at the time, Ye Ningwan soon found out.
Just as Grandpa Pei's personal medical team rushed over with their equipment, another person finally arrived.
"Big brother!"
The medical team had inserted all sorts of tubes into Mr. Pei's body and were examining him when a strong, resonant voice rang out.
A sprightly old man strode into the living room, leaning on a cane. Upon seeing Old Master Pei's appearance, he immediately frowned.
What's wrong with you?
When Grandpa Pei saw the person who had arrived, he waved to the other party and said helplessly.
"I'm old, I'm getting old, I can't take it anymore, and I don't know when I'll suddenly faint and die."
The old man frowned and said with dissatisfaction.
"It's all because those younger generation are so useless, otherwise you wouldn't be so angry."
The doctor had finished examining Old Master Pei. Old Master Pei removed the messy patches from his body, and while buttoning his clothes, he spoke to the old man in a rather friendly manner.
"Looks like this fire has spread far enough to attract you in the middle of the night."
The old man smiled and said.
"It's caused such a big commotion that even my seven-year-old great-grandson knows about it. He stayed up late at night, holding his iPad, and asked me if this was your ninth child. When I looked, it really was, and that's when I found out that your ninth child had gotten into such a big mess."
