Ye Ningwan looked up and glanced towards the doorway.
When Little Star saw the people he had just reprimanded, he immediately took two big gulps of water from the glass through the straw, smacked his lips, and put the glass down.
Hiding behind Madam Pei, Pei Minghua had changed her clothes. Her eyes were bloodshot as she glared resentfully at Xiaoxing, who was sitting on the sofa, and angrily pointed at Xiaoxing, complaining.
"Mom, it's him! It's this little bastard who beat me up like this!"
The thought of how Little Star had humiliated him in the greenhouse made Pei Minghua want to chew the little bastard up and swallow him whole.

Pei Minghua cursed inwardly.
Seeing that Madam Pei had already walked up to her, Little Star jumped off the sofa and stood obediently next to Ye Ningwan.
Ye Ningwan had a smile on her face, and that innocent look was exactly the same as Xiao Xingxing's.
"Second sister-in-law, what's wrong? Why are you so angry?"
Madam Pei quickly walked up to Ye Ningwan, her face contorted with anger, her eyes bulging, her lips pressed down, and she angrily cursed at Ye Ningwan.

"I won't hold it against the child because he's ignorant, but you're an adult, Second Sister-in-law. You should know that you can eat whatever you want, but you can't say whatever you want!"
Madam Pei's finger bones ached as if they were about to crack, and her entire arm and body trembled.

Madam Pei gritted her teeth, glared fiercely at Ye Ningwan, and squeezed out a few words, one by one.
"You—let—go—down—first—"
Ye Ningwan released her hand, maintaining her smile, and waited motionless for Madam Pei to speak.
"Does Second Sister-in-law have anything else to say?"

Madam Pei pulled Pei Minghua, who was beside her, in front of her and angrily questioned Ye Ningwan.
Ye Ningwan smiled slightly.
“It’s just kids fighting, what’s the big deal? My sister-in-law saw it too, my son was beaten up like this.”
As Ye Ningwan spoke, she lifted Xiaoxing's chin, revealing a large area of abrasions.
"Here you go."
Madam Pei snorted coldly and said irritably.
"It's just a little scratch, but look at how badly he beat my son! Ye Ningwan, let me tell you, I will never let this go so easily. Your son is so arrogant right after being recognized. Even if we take this to the old man, it will still be his fault!"
Little Star clenched her fists and urgently retorted to Madam Pei.
"I didn't! It wasn't my fault!"

Little Star shut up angrily, turned to look at Ye Ningwan with a wronged expression, and carefully tugged at her sleeve.

Seeing how aggrieved he looked, Ye Ningwan patted Xiaoxing's head, squatted down, looked at Xiaoxing at eye level, and asked in a low voice.

Madam Pei gave a noncommittal snort and crossed her arms.
In her opinion, Ye Ningwan could never genuinely protect Xiaoxing. After all, what woman could accept a child who wasn't her own as her son, especially since this person was Pei Fengzhi's eldest son, which was a huge threat?
She wanted to see what else Ye Ningwan could say.
Little Star pouted, sniffed, her eyes filled with tears, and spoke with a wronged expression.
“I didn’t bully Brother Minghua, he hit me first! He also called me a little beast, that nobody wanted me, said I was dirty, told me not to touch him, pushed me, stepped on my back, and spat in my face.”
Tears welled up in Little Star's eyes, and finally, unable to hold them back, they streamed down her cheeks.
