Captain Luo frowned, staring at Ye Ningwan with displeasure. His brows furrowed into a deep frown, his expression serious and harsh.
"Ye Ningwan, are you still not going to say anything?"
Ye Ningwan kept her head down and remained silent.
Captain Luo took a deep breath, his tone icy and hard.
"Ye Ningwan, even with zero confession, a case can still be filed as long as the chain of evidence is complete! So it's pointless for you to remain silent now!"
Team Leader Luo pointed to the row of words pasted on the wall behind Ye Ningwan and asked.
"See that? What does it say? Confess and you'll be treated leniently; resist and you'll be punished severely!"
Ye Ningwan, who had been silent all along, suddenly raised her head and chuckled softly.
"Confess and you'll be leniently imprisoned, but resist and you'll be severely punished, only to be allowed to go home for the New Year?"
Upon hearing this, Captain Luo's expression suddenly changed, and he stared at Ye Ningwan with a solemn and cold look.
With a loud bang.
Captain Luo slammed his hand on the table, stood up abruptly, braced himself on the table with both hands, and leaned over Ye Ningwan, who was sitting in the interrogation chair.
"Stop joking around with me, Ye Ningwan. Do you know where you are?"
Ye Ningwan pursed her lips and almost provocatively raised her head to confront Captain Luo from this direction.
"Captain Luo, are you trying to torture me to extract a confession?"
"If that's the case, I can sue you."
Captain Luo clenched his fists tightly, looking like he was about to explode.
Fearing that Captain Luo might lose control of his emotions, the young policewoman beside him quickly stood up, grabbed his arm, and whispered anxiously in his ear.
"Captain Luo, don't be angry. The evidence is conclusive now. If you really lay a hand on her, we might not be able to prosecute her!"
Ye Ningwan has excellent hearing, so she naturally heard what the policewoman said. She chuckled softly and nodded in agreement.
"What this young lady said is right. Captain Luo, have you thought it through? Are you really going to fight me?"
Captain Luo glared at Ye Ningwan, his face grim and silent, his aura almost sucking the air out of the interrogation room.
Just as the two were facing off, there was a sudden knock on the interrogation room door.
A voice came in.
"Captain Luo."
Captain Luo was furious, his gaze still fixed on Ye Ningwan, and he almost roared at the person outside the door, questioning him.
"What is it? Can't you see I'm busy?"
The outside was quiet for a moment, then the interrogation room door was opened.
The corridor was brightly lit, and the moment the door opened, a torrent of light rushed into the dimly lit interrogation room.
The next second, a person walked into the interrogation room, completely dark, drawing almost all the light in the room to him.
The man was very tall, wearing a long black trench coat, with his long hair falling to his lower back. He exuded a fierce and imposing aura as he walked step by step toward Ye Ningwan.
Ye Ningwan tilted her head slightly, her eyes, sparkling like black pearls, reflecting Pei Fengzhi's current appearance.
Pei Fengzhi abandoned his usual gentle and refined demeanor; the elegant and refined man had completely vanished. Like a mad beast, his suppressed and cold figure enveloped Ye Ningwan, almost suffocating her.
Neither of them spoke; they just stared at each other.
After a long while, Pei Fengzhi's voice finally rang out.
He didn't even glance at Captain Luo.
"Please, both of you, go outside first."
The policewoman exclaimed "Ah!", her face slightly flushed, and instinctively tried to obediently walk outside.
Team Leader Koro frowned.
"Cough cough!"
A cough sounded, and Captain Luo turned around to see his boss standing outside the door, waving at him.
"Luo Rui, come out."
Team Leader Luo glanced at Pei Fengzhi. The man's profile was still dazzling under the dim light in the interrogation room. He gritted his teeth, finally giving in to his boss's warning look, and reluctantly walked outside.
Bang!
The interrogation room door was slammed shut, the sound echoing throughout the cramped space.
After a moment, silence finally fell.
Ye Ningwan's lips curled up slightly. She reached out and grabbed Pei Fengzhi's tie, pulling his perfectly handsome face close to hers, and asked arrogantly.
"Why are you only arriving now? Do you know how long I've been waiting for you?"
She's incredibly spoiled; she causes trouble and then throws tantrums at others.
So natural, so unrestrained.
The next second...
Pei Fengzhi suddenly reached out, grabbed Ye Ningwan by the back of her collar, dragged her off the interrogation chair, slammed her against the wall, pinched her chin with two fingers, and reflected Ye Ningwan's image in his phoenix eyes that burned with icy flames.
"Ye Ningwan, I was only gone for a few hours and you've caused me trouble again?!"
This woman not only disobeyed but also turned around and bit back. There's no one else as opportunistic as her!
Ye Ningwan wasn't afraid of him at all. She pursed her lips and said in a wronged tone.
“I just went to the yacht club for lunch, and I ran into Wang Zhixuan’s people who invited me for drinks. It wasn’t on purpose; they just came to me because of some business.”
Her sweet, gentle voice flowed into Pei Fengzhi's heart like a clear spring, but suddenly turned into hot oil, bursting into flames.
Pei Fengzhi's hand, which had been holding Ye Ningwan's chin, slowly slid down to Ye Ningwan's neck, his fingertips applying slight pressure.
"You just go up to someone's place for a drink? Ye Ningwan, are you that casual? You don't know anything about Wang Zhixuan, yet you dare to get close to him. You're really something!"
Wang Zhixuan is a member of the Wang family in the capital.
The four major families secretly wanted her dead, and they naturally knew Ye Ningwan's identity.
