Ye Ningwan chuckled and instantly understood what the butler meant.
Although Ye Ruoxin has been released from prison, she is probably not having an easy time.
After all, no one is taking the blame for her anymore, and no one will help her clear her name. She's covered in scandals now, and she probably can't stay an internet celebrity anymore.
Her reputation was ruined, and even her title as the so-called number one socialite in Jiangcheng lost much of its luster.
In high society, everyone knows everyone else.
Ye Ruoxin's title as the top socialite was already eye-catching, with countless people eyeing her position. However, Ye Ruoxin has relied on Pei Minghan's powerful connections over the years to maintain her position so securely.
In addition, she is usually too arrogant and will stir up trouble even when she is unreasonable. Many people hate and envy her because she is unreliable.
Now that Ye Ruoxin has made such a big mistake, who knows how many people are secretly waiting to see her make a fool of herself, and many are even planning to take her down. How could they possibly give her a chance to recover?
Ye Ruoxin probably sensed that difference, which is why she was in such a hurry to come and find her a solution.
Ye Ningwan said to the housekeeper.
"Ignore them for now. Tell the bodyguards not to kick them out, and don't let them in either."
The housekeeper suddenly understood what Ye Ningwan meant.
"Madam, what do you mean?"
Ye Ningwan curled her lips into a smile, a hint of amusement in it.
"What I mean is, let them stand outside, get some sun, get rid of bad luck, and kill germs."
She waved to the butler, who immediately withdrew.
About an hour later, the kitchen staff came out carrying several baskets of steamed soup dumplings.
"Here it comes, here it comes, your favorite soup dumplings are here!"
Looking at the table full of soup dumplings, Ye Ningwan knew that the kitchen aunt had made more than just her own.
She pointed to the remaining baskets of soup dumplings and gave instructions to the servants.
"Send these to the young master. Just leave them outside the door and don't go in to disturb him."
The maid nodded and immediately took the soup dumplings upstairs.
After Ye Ningwan finished breakfast, she ran on the treadmill at the gym for more than an hour. When she came downstairs again after taking a shower, the housekeeper told her...
"Madam, Mrs. Ye and Miss Ye are still waiting outside. The sun is so bright outside, they might faint at any time. Perhaps you should..."
Ye Ningwan was somewhat dissatisfied.
"Aren't you being too nosy today?"
The housekeeper advised her.
"After all, she is your adoptive mother, and she is in the same circle. If word gets out, it will affect your reputation, and you will be in more trouble."
Ye Ningwan asked with a cold smile.
"Why would I care about these things?"
The butler fell silent.
Sometimes he really couldn't understand what this lady was thinking. Sometimes she seemed very smart and could see things very clearly, but other times she seemed to do things without any intention of thinking, simply acting according to her own personality and temperament.
The butler remained standing there, but an uninvited guest arrived at the villa.
"Mr. Li, what brings you here? Ninth Master was summoned away by the old man early this morning."
Li Mochuan had one hand in his suit pocket and smiled nonchalantly at the butler.
"I'm not here to see Pei Fengzhi, I'm here to see your mistress."
The butler was taken aback. He looked at Ye Ningwan, then at Li Mochuan, and a strange feeling arose in his heart. He asked again warily.
"Is there anything I can help you with?"
Li Mochuan smiled.
"Since your Ninth Master can entrust his people to my care, are you still afraid that I might do something to your Madam?"
The steward thought about it and realized that it made sense. Feeling guilty for his petty thoughts, he immediately bowed his head and withdrew.
Finally, the servants served the two of them some snacks, fruit, and tea.
Ye Ningwan sat on the sofa, glanced at the carefully prepared tea and snacks in front of her, and watched as Li Mochuan readily poured her a cup of tea. She then let out a cold laugh.
"If Wenbo knew what kind of filthy thoughts you had when you looked at me, he probably would have poisoned your tea."
Li Mochuan paused for a moment before bringing the teacup to his lips, then broke into a smile and said to Ye Ningwan.
"Didn't he not know?"
He leaned closer to Ye Ningwan and smiled.
"Will Ninth Madam keep this a secret for me?"
He winked at Ye Ningwan, but the smile didn't reach his eyes.
Ye Ningwan glared at him.
"Sit still, don't make it seem like I really have something going on with you."
Li Mochuan drank his tea and obediently sat back down, but he only drank his tea and didn't say anything.
Ye Ningwan asked impatiently.
"You've come all this way, you can't just be here to scam a cup of tea, can you?"
Li Mochuan, all smiles, didn't get down to business and started by teasing Ye Ningwan.
"What if I said I came here specifically to see you? These past few days, I haven't stopped thinking about you, Ninth Madam."
Ye Ningwan rolled her eyes at Li Mochuan.
"Now that you've finished reading, you can leave."
It's just a glance; there's no need to get angry with the other person.
Li Mochuan, however, let out a soft sigh.
"You woman, you really are heartless. I've helped you so much, but you're still so cold to me, it's really..."
Ye Ningwan rolled her eyes at Li Mochuan, not wanting to argue with him about the matter at all.
What does it mean to have helped a lot?
That's hilarious.
