He calmly looked at Li Mochuan sitting opposite him, a hint of coldness creeping into his usually gentle eyes.
"No, we're from the same sect. I'm already content to see you still alive, so why would I be angry?"
Pei Fengzhi picked up his teacup, gently touched Li Mochuan's teacup, offered a toast with tea instead of wine, and said with a smile.
“You’re right. Things aren’t peaceful outside right now. Brother Li, you should take good care of yourself, or you might be the one lying in a hospital bed next.”
Li Mochuan was walking on the edge of a knife. His ability to remain standing for so many years was not just luck, but also a testament to his strength. But even the best-laid plans can go awry.
Now that Pei Fengzhi has stepped on his sore spot, Li Mochuan's expression is obviously not good.
Li Mochuan gave a cold snort, clearly annoyed.
"Brother Pei, don't worry, I'll be fine even if something happens to you! If you're so fond of worrying, you should take care of yourself first!"
Pei Fengzhi scrutinized Li Mochuan's cold and ruthless face, then suddenly smiled and said softly.
"But it seems that you, Brother Li, are the one in trouble right now."
No sooner had Pei Fengzhi finished speaking than his bodyguards rushed over, carrying something.
"Mr. Li..."
The bodyguard approached Li Mochuan, bowed, and called out, but then looked at Pei Fengzhi sitting opposite him and cautiously remained silent.
Li Mochuan gave a faint scoff and said irritably.
"There are no outsiders here, so just say what you want to say."
Since Li Mochuan had already said so, the bodyguard naturally couldn't hide it. He could only carefully place a tattered cloth in front of Li Mochuan and whisper his report.
"This was found when I was inspecting the barbed wire fence as you instructed. It was hanging on the wire. It must have been someone who took advantage of the thirty seconds of power outage in the manor to climb over the wall and enter the manor. This tattered cloth was accidentally left on the wire by the other party."
Li Mochuan glanced coldly at the tattered cloth in the bodyguard's hand, his voice as cold as ice at minus one hundred degrees Celsius.
"You have to ask me about such a small thing?"
The bodyguard immediately realized that he had embarrassed Li Mochuan in front of Pei Fengzhi, so he hurriedly straightened his upper body and raised his voice a few notches.
"Regarding that mysterious person who suddenly broke in, I've given the order to capture him within two hours!"
"As for this piece of fabric, I have already sent people to find its source, definitely from the origin..."
Li Mochuan raised his hand, stopping the bodyguard from continuing.
"No need. This is just a regular cotton-linen blend, and even the blending ratio is common in the market. You can find the same color and material in any fabric store. Instead of wasting your time on this, let's focus on something else."
The bodyguard was taken aback, and then stood there dumbfounded for a long time, not understanding what Li Mochuan meant.
Firefox and Grizzly Bear, standing behind Pei Fengzhi, exchanged bewildered glances, unsure of what Li Mochuan was trying to say.
Only Pei Fengzhi smiled faintly, looking at Li Mochuan with a meaningful expression.
The two of them clearly understood each other's meaning, but the others present still looked completely confused.
This was Li Mochuan's territory, so Pei Fengzhi didn't speak, but instead lowered his head and silently drank his tea.
Li Mochuan then spoke.
"Send someone to check the manor's security system. Today's power outage is definitely not accidental. A hacker must have taken control of the power supply system and caused a short circuit, which led to the power outage. Otherwise, it would be impossible for it to be such a coincidence that an outsider happened to infiltrate the manor within just thirty seconds."
The bodyguard disagreed.
"But the manor's cybersecurity system was purchased from the Dawn organization for a billion dollars back then, and they also provided ten years of free maintenance. The Dawn is a top anti-hacking organization in the world, and their system has never been breached by hackers."
The bodyguard mustered his courage and spoke to Li Mochuan anyway.
"Mr. Li, I suspect there's a mole within the manor! I want to thoroughly investigate everyone in the entire manor! Rest assured, I will definitely give you an explanation!"
When the bodyguard mentioned the Dawn Organization, Li Mochuan raised an eyebrow and gave Pei Fengzhi a meaningful glance.
"No one in this world is 100% infallible, let alone the Dawn system which has been around for several years. There are always people more capable than you, and some people should start to improve."
Pei Fengzhi knew that Li Mochuan was deliberately targeting him, but he didn't say anything and just continued to drink his tea in silence. In his heart, however, he became extremely interested in the mysterious person who had broken through his security net, cut off the power supply, and sneaked into the manor in thirty seconds.
Seeing that Pei Fengzhi remained silent, Li Mochuan deliberately asked him a question.
"Brother Pei, what do you think?"
Pei Fengzhi put down her teacup after Li Mochuan called her name, elegantly wiped away non-existent tea stains from the corner of her lips, and then answered with a smile.
"I think... Brother Li really wasted those 1 billion yuan."
With just a few words, he turned the tables on Li Mochuan, whose face was no better than the bottom of a pot.
He ground his back teeth and gave Pei Fengzhi a ferocious, snarling smile that was truly terrifying.
Meanwhile, the bodyguard beside him seemed to be under a spell, still insisting on his own opinion and giving Li Mochuan his advice.
"Mr. Li, I think..."
Li Mochuan, who had been holding in a bellyful of anger, felt like he had finally found an outlet. He turned and glared at the bodyguard, then snapped at him irritably.
"Shut up, do as I say. Who's in charge here, you or me?!"
The bodyguard trembled in fright at Li Mochuan's roar, his body shaking uncontrollably. He subconsciously took two steps back, his eyes clear yet tinged with confusion, as if he himself did not understand why he had done or said those things.
