Ye Zhenning turned his head and coldly ordered Mei Aiqing.
"You should go home first. Yongchen and I are fine here."
Mei Aiqing's face turned ugly, and she subconsciously retorted.
"But……"
Ye Zhenning's voice instantly turned stern, and he spoke to Mei Aiqing with a hint of anger.
"What's the point of you staying here? Xinxin doesn't want to see you at all. You'd better go back, so you don't get in her way and make her unhappy!"
Mei Aiqing's eyes welled up with tears after being scolded by Ye Zhenning. She looked at Ye Ruoxin on the hospital bed and Ye Yongchen beside her, but neither of her sons or daughters seemed inclined to speak up for her.
Feeling even more aggrieved, she wiped away her tears, opened the door, and left the ward.
Ye Ruoxin glanced at the closed ward door, a barely perceptible look of disgust flashing in her eyes, before she quickly returned to her usual gentle demeanor.
She sniffled, her voice choked with emotion, and spoke to Ye Yongchen.
"But my reputation is ruined now, the whole internet is full of people cursing me, I have no future! If the Pei family finds out about this, will they also break off the engagement with me? Minghan won't want me anymore, right?"
Ye Yongchen immediately spoke.
"Won't……"
But Ye Yongchen only managed to utter two words before the ward door was suddenly pushed open, and Madam Pei, dressed in a Chanel haute couture outfit, carrying a limited-edition Hermès crocodile bag, and wearing JC high heels, stormed in aggressively.
"Yes! Of course!"
Upon hearing this, Ye Ruoxin immediately looked towards the door. The moment she saw Madam Pei, she broke free from Ye Yongchen's embrace and sat up straight.

Madam Pei snorted coldly, glancing disapprovingly at Ye Yongchen, who had just been hugging and cuddling with Ye Ruoxin.
"Who are you calling 'Auntie'? Don't be so familiar with me. I'm not acquainted with your Ye family."
What she disliked most was Ye Ruoxin being too close to other men, even her own brother Ye Yongchen. Therefore, Ye Ruoxin was always very careful in front of Madam Pei.
Ye Ruoxin never expected that Madam Pei would suddenly barge into her ward at this moment.

"I heard you got out of there, so I came here today specifically to annul the engagement!"
Ye Ruoxin stared wide-eyed in disbelief. She looked at the arrogant Madam Pei in front of her, then looked down at the document in her arms, which read "Letter of Annulment of Engagement".
Upon seeing these three words, tears welled up in Ye Ruoxin's eyes. The tears swirled in her eyes and then rolled down in large drops, landing on the annulment letter in her hand.
She opened her mouth and murmured pitifully.
"Auntie...why..."
Madam Pei didn't give Ye Ruoxin a chance to speak at all, rolling her eyes and interrupting her with a cold snort.
"Ha, you still have the nerve to ask me why? Don't you know your own situation? Do I have to spell it out for you? Let me tell you, our Pei family will absolutely not accept a daughter-in-law with such a tarnished reputation as you!"
"Ye Ruoxin, I advise you to sign this annulment agreement yourself if you know what's good for you. You and Minghan should part amicably and not make things too embarrassing, otherwise your Ye family will be the ones who lose face!"
Madam Pei's words not only made Ye Ruoxin pale, but also made the faces of Ye's father and son in the ward look rather unpleasant.
Ye Yongchen, unable to contain himself any longer, wanted to rush forward.
"Madam Pei, you..."
Ye Zhenning reacted quickly, grabbing Ye Yongchen and saying in a hoarse voice.
"Yongchen, don't be impulsive, I'll handle it."
Ye Yongchen turned his head and glanced at Ye Zhenning unwillingly. Finally, he reluctantly shook off Ye Zhenning's hand, glared coldly at Madam Pei, and turned to walk out of the ward.
"When can Xinxin be discharged? I'll go ask at the nurses' station!"
After saying that, he slammed the door and left.
Madam Pei's face turned ugly as she questioned Ye Zhenning.
"Ye Zhenning, what does your son mean by this? Is he taking his anger out on me?"
Ye Zhenning quickly explained with a smile.
"Madam Pei, please don't be angry. Yongchen has always been clumsy and rough. He closes doors like that at home too. His mother and I always scold him for it. He didn't do it on purpose!"
These words made Madam Pei's expression soften slightly.
She seemed unwilling to stay any longer, appearing eager to get rid of the Ye family, and urged Ye Ruoxin impatiently.
"Fine, I won't argue with your family about this anymore. Ye Ruoxin, hurry up and sign the papers, I'm going back!"
Ye Ruoxin shook her head while crying, threw the annulment letter aside, and pitifully pleaded with Madam Pei.
"Auntie, please don't break up Minghan and me, okay? Minghan and I are truly in love. We've come a long way together, and it hasn't been easy for us to get to where we are today. I will absolutely not break off our engagement!"
Madam Pei looked at Ye Ruoxin's affected and pretentious manner, snorted coldly in dissatisfaction, and asked sarcastically.
