Ye Ningwan closed her eyes, mentally calculating the worst-case scenario.
If all else fails, she'll have to take Little Star to the city bureau to explain the situation. At worst, she'll wear a mask the whole time, and once the matter is resolved, she'll send the little guy back to Country A, far away from this place.

Just then, a hand handed over a cup of hot cocoa.

Ye Ningwan looked up and saw Madam Pei smiling gently at her. Her warm smile was like a ray of light in the cold night, dispelling the surrounding darkness and malice.
Ye Ningwan smiled slightly at Madam Pei, accepted the hot cocoa from her, and thanked her softly.

Madam Pei then sat down next to Ye Ningwan and offered her words of comfort.
"Don't worry, Dad loves Ninth Brother the most. He would never kick Ninth Brother out of the house just because of a case that hasn't been solved yet!"
Before Ye Ningwan could speak, Madam Pei's voice suddenly interrupted, sounding rather irritable.
