Chapter 10 Providing Timely Assistance (2/2)

Shang Yechu squinted at the commotion not far away, then suddenly smiled and said, "I know what they're arguing about."

The system asked listlessly, "What?"

Shang Yechu chuckled and said, "Manager Tian is too tall, which hurt Jiang Zhiyuan's fragile self-esteem."

103: "Oh."

Shang Yechu was already used to the system's indifference and wasn't annoyed. She simply glanced at the scene before her, then walked back and took the complete script for the play from the table.

Shang Yechu skimmed through the script, the words and phrases imprinted firmly into her mind as if they were printed.

Soon, Shang Yechu finished reading the script, while the assistant director also persuaded the actor playing the shopkeeper Tian.

Shopkeeper Tian's expression was naturally not very pleasant, but how could these minor actors possibly compete with the lead actors? Besides, he had already overcharged them, so despite his displeasure, Shopkeeper Tian left without hesitation.

Jiang Lei sighed, just as she was about to announce, "Today's scene will be postponed to a certain day," when a shadow suddenly fell over her.

Jiang Lei looked up and saw an unremarkable actor dressed as a servant standing in front of her.

At first glance, it looks like a man; but upon closer inspection, you can tell that the person in front of you is a girl.

It's probably because the production team couldn't find suitable male extras and had to use these as substitutes.

Jiang Lei had never been in the mood to teach extras how to act, and given her current bad mood, she was about to say, "Go back to your own place," when she heard the extra in front of her say:

"Director, I'd like to try out for the role of Manager Tian."

Jiang Lei's eyes widened in surprise: "What did you say?"

Shang Yechu patiently said, "I said, I want to try the role of Manager Tian."

"Oh?" Jiang Lei asked curiously, "How did you know?"

Shang Yechu said in a low voice, "I think the actor who played Manager Tian left because he wasn't feeling well. But Manager Tian isn't an important role, and we can't let him delay our filming schedule. So, I thought I'd give it a try."

Shopkeeper Tian certainly didn't leave because he was feeling unwell; it's just that the way this girl spoke made her seem very tactful.

Jiang Lei did not show any more patience towards the girl because of her low emotional intelligence.

Jiang Lei glanced at the other person: "You? Do you even know how to act? Being on camera and doing odd jobs are two different things! You'd have to memorize Manager Tian's lines for a day or two. If I had time to wait for you, why wouldn't I find a newcomer?"

Jiang Lei's tone was sharp, but Shang Yechu wasn't annoyed. She immediately said, "On the seventeenth, a servant-like man came to our pharmacy to inquire about the price of bird's nest. I told him that our pharmacy's bird's nest was the most reasonably priced. One tael of bird's nest was only two taels, seven mace, and three fen of silver. The servant said he wasn't asking about the selling price, but the purchase price. I showed him a number from my sleeve, and he took out a large bag of bird's nest..."

The more Shang Yechu spoke, the more surprised Jiang Lei became. By the end, her eyes were wide open!

Everything Shang Yechu said was exactly what Manager Tian had said!

Furthermore, it's exactly the same as the script!

What's even more surprising is that Shang Yechu's tone is incredibly shrewd and smooth, fluent and familiar! Just by listening to her voice, no one would doubt that she is an experienced pharmacy owner!

Shang Yechu's voice was actually a little hoarse, not unpleasant, just androgynous. Combined with her tone just now, it wasn't much worse than the old actor who had already left!

This is a godsend!
