Chapter 101 Dinner (2/2)

"Why bring this up?" Shang Yechu interrupted her. "Reminiscing about bygone years?"

Sheng Wenzhi put down the pork she was holding. "Watching you eat suddenly reminded me of these things. I thought I had long forgotten, but I didn't expect—"

"Ye Chu." Li Yi's voice came from behind. Shang Ye Chu looked up and saw the other person walking towards them from a distance, with a cheerful smile on his face. His two neat tiger teeth gleamed white in the bright sunlight. "Could you teach me about the acting question from the other day again?"

Sheng Wenzhi suddenly sneered, lowered her voice, and said in a volume that only she and Shang Yechu could hear, "It's hard for you to bring a spoiled brat along when you're filming."

“He’s not exactly a completely incompetent spoiled brat.” Shang Yechu frowned at Sheng Wenzhi’s sarcastic remarks. “He’s really skilled in action scenes. The problem of overdoing it when filming is something that five out of ten newcomers do.”

Recalling Sheng Wenzhi's inexplicable hostility towards her at the dessert shop last time, Shang Yechu emphasized, "You shouldn't come to the film set with me anymore. This is my job. Don't ruin my relationship with my colleagues."

Sheng Wenzhi fell silent.

After finishing the opening ceremony and costume photo shoot, it was already evening. Yi Tianzhao was so busy he was spinning like a top and didn't have time to treat the lead actors to a simple meal. Shang Yechu went straight to a restaurant in the film studio and ordered a table full of food.

After a whole afternoon of fussing and only managing to eat that one piece of roast suckling pig that tasted like bird feed, Shang Yechu was so hungry she could practically squeeze through a crack in the door.

Li Yi also joined in. One can't hit a smiling face. Shang Yechu, along with Sheng Wenzhi and him, made up the three of them at the table.

Sheng Wenzhi ordered stir-fried pea shoots and a vegetarian three-delicacy soup. The green dishes and bowls looked refreshing.

Li Yi's diet was equally inhumane; he only ordered a boiled chicken breast and a vegetable salad—the kind without any dressing, which was nauseating to look at.

The two sat facing each other, slowly eating the food that Shang Yechu found unappetizing. Shang Yechu, who was enjoying her meal, even had the illusion that "I'm not very self-disciplined."

While eating, Shang Yechu suddenly heard someone at the next table whispering something.

It was evening, dinnertime, and the restaurant was crowded and noisy, so Shang Yechu couldn't hear what they were saying. She noticed them because the young girl at that table kept glancing in her direction.

Li Yi was picking up a piece of yellowish-white shredded chicken with her chopsticks when she suddenly lowered them and looked at Shang Yechu: "They're talking about you."

No, do people with high combat skills also have good hearing? How could they hear this clearly!

"Really?" Shang Yechu feigned surprise.

“Really.” Li Yi’s eyes crinkled into a smile. “We were discussing ‘The Tale of Clouds’—the content of last night’s performance.”

As if to confirm Li Yi's words, the little girl sitting at that table suddenly ran over to Shang Yechu's table, stood in front of Shang Yechu, and excitedly said, "Yechu! Is that you?"
