Chapter 107 Clash (2/2)

Grandpa Fu's eyes widened, and a line of blood dripped straight down from the red dot on his head, dividing his plump, white face in two. One half of his face still wore a kind smile, while the other half was twisted with fear.

"Zheng—"

Xiao Fengque held his sword upright and leaned close to his face.

The two were extremely close; Xiao Fengque's breath even sprayed onto Eunuch Fu's face, and the blood foam from Eunuch Fu's mouth also splattered onto Xiao Fengque's face.

The pupils of the dying man had begun to dilate, while Xiao Fengque's expression was equally devoid of joy or sorrow. His distorted profile and calm demeanor stood in silent confrontation, and the air between the two drew a celestial river of life and death.

Eunuch Fu stared intently at Xiao Fengque, as if trying to use his dying eyes to stubbornly figure out who this person was.

Two pairs of eyes, two faces, one young, one old, one alive, one dead. As they gazed at each other, the air seemed to freeze into a cold, semi-solid state, enough to hold a knife.

Blood splattered on Xiao Fengque's face and lips, giving her an eerie and beautiful appearance.

Xiao Fengque slowly opened his lips—

Grandpa Fu opened his eyes wide for the last time, as if wanting to hear Xiao Fengque's answer.

Xiao Fengque suddenly smiled.

"Whoever finds the red pill will be killed by the military officer."

"Cut! Pass!"

The moment Yi Tianzhao called a halt, the entire audience fell silent.

Shang Yechu let out a breath, quickly put the knife aside, and went down to get a warm, damp towel for Teacher Ge Dafu.

In the cold winter, fake blood plasma is actually just water mixed with dye. If you splash it on your face, it's really freezing.

Just as Shang Yechu picked up the towel and was about to leave, thunderous applause suddenly erupted around her!

What's wrong?

Shang Yechu was startled and looked around. She saw that the staff present all seemed quite emotional. The assistant director, in particular, was crying and wiping away tears, looking like a 300-pound fat child.

"Director Yi! Director Yi!" the assistant director sobbed. These past few days, he had shared the blame with Yi Tianzhao; Yi Tianzhao had endured the harshest criticism, while he had received the mildest. Now, finally, the storm had passed and the sun was shining.

Yi Tianzhao was also quite excited. But she wasn't the type to show her emotions outwardly; she simply walked up to Shang Yechu and patted her on the shoulder.

"Well done." Yi Tianzhao nodded. "Go and take the towel to the teacher."

Shang Yechu went to hand a towel to Grandpa Ge Dafu. The two staff members with name tags watched her go and sighed, "Our half-dead project is finally saved."

Another staff member said, "You know what, I've seen 'The Phoenix Plays with the Dragon,' starring Sister Ye... tsk tsk."

In the entertainment industry, one shouldn't speak too definitively. Therefore, after clicking his tongue twice, the staff member lowered his voice and said, "Director Yi probably doesn't need to drink He Shou Wu and black sesame anymore."

After the performance, Ge Dafu became much more amiable. He smiled broadly as he took the towel from Shang Yechu, saying, "Little Yechu performed very well, much better than Little Li!"

Shang Yechu thought to himself, "That's not what you meant when you were trying to suppress the scene!"

Acting opposite Ge Dafu was incredibly stressful. His piercing, hawk-like gaze paired with his seemingly friendly smile was enough to send chills down my spine—that was the least of my problems. The biggest issue was that this kind of cunning, sly character was extremely difficult to fool. One slip-up in my acting, and the audience would just think the protagonist was cheating.

Shang Yechu was barely hanging on, exerting all her strength to avoid showing any weakness.

So far, the results seem pretty good. At least no one on the production crew noticed that Shang Yechu was struggling. They all thought she was exceptionally talented, able to easily handle Ge Dafu's role at just twenty years old.

Shang Yechu smiled and said, "You've worked hard too."
