Chapter 130 Visiting the Set (2/2)

Fourth time.

"Stop." Yi Tianzhao said, bewildered. "You're laughing, fine, but why do you have to put on a long face when you stop laughing?"

The fifth time...

Even with Grandma Jiang present, Yi Tianzhao couldn't help but lose his temper. Such a simple scene, with such shallow emotions, could have been easily fooled with just a silly laugh—yet Li Yi had to do five takes!

Although Grandma Jiang was still smiling, her complexion was no longer very good.

Yi Tianzhao felt that everything was going wrong today. She simply walked over to Li Yi, made a few smiling faces herself, and pulled Shang Yechu around like a piece of clay to demonstrate, racking her brains to teach her a bit.

This scene wasn't particularly difficult, and with the efforts of Yi Tianzhao and Shang Yechu, Li Yi finally got it right on the seventh take.

Yi Tianzhao broke out in a light sweat in early spring. When he remembered that Jiang Shang Nongchaosheng was still sitting next to him, he secretly groaned.

“Teacher Jiang,” Yi Tianzhao explained, “Li Yi wasn’t in good shape on the first day of work.”

"Haha, I can see that, I can see that," Grandma Jiang said kindly. "I guess the boy got nervous because I was there."

Shang Yechu finally finished a take, her back drenched in sweat. Li Yi had more takes in one scene than Shang Yechu did in a whole week. Shang Yechu greeted Grandma Jiang with a smile and then spoke with Yi Tianzhao.

Grandma Jiang held her grandson's hand and said kindly, "Xiao Yi, what's wrong? Did Grandma bother you?"

Li Yi half-squatted down, smiled at the old lady, revealing two tiger teeth: "Not at all, Grandma. I wish you could come every day!"

Grandma Jiang smiled and tapped Li Yi's forehead: "You managed to film such a simple scene like this with me. If I weren't there, wouldn't you have exhausted the entire crew?"

Li Yi paused slightly, her expression suddenly becoming unnatural: "Grandma, actually..."

Old Mrs. Jiang was a shrewd person, and she immediately narrowed her eyes: "Hmm?"

Li Yi's bright black eyes darted quickly to the side, but because her face was covered by makeup, it was impossible to tell if she was blushing. "I'm just a little nervous."

Heh heh.

Grandma Jiang, understanding the implied meaning from the music, paused for a moment before looking in Shang Yechu's direction.

Shang Yechu cursed Li Yi in her heart, but a hint of awkward shyness appeared on her face. Head down, she stammered, "Director Yi, Teacher Jiang, I'm going to remove my makeup now." With that, she fled as if her life depended on it.

Seeing Shang Yechu's retreating figure, Grandma Jiang clapped her hands and laughed loudly, "Good, good! You little Li! Something's up?"

Yi Tianzhao, standing nearby, was stunned. Who? Li Yi and Shang Yechu?

Something's up?

What's going on? Are they mortal enemies or have they severed all ties?

Have these two ever spoken to each other other than rehearsing their lines?

Yi Tianzhao, with the mindset of a career-oriented person, speculated. Yang Huanyi caused her first minor flop and she even got criticized; she's already blocked Yang Huanyi. Meanwhile, Li Yi's terrible acting has caused Shang Yechu to suffer both ways, yet Shang Yechu can't block Li Yi and still has to continue acting with him…

Yi Tianzhao didn't think that Li Yi was much better to Shang Yechu than Yang Huanyi was to him.

Li Yi's eyes sparkled as she stammered, "Grandma, please don't say anymore... well, anyway, it's still far from certain."

Yi Tianzhao stared in disbelief. Was Li Yi's budding romantic interest genuine or just an act?

If it's acting, how come this kid can't deliver this level of acting when he's actually acting?

If it's true, then it's just too much...
