Shang Yechu woke up a little late the next day. Even though she was worried about the ratings of "The Mystery of the Dynasty" she was concerned about, she could only quickly wash up, grab a bag of milk, and then rush back to the film set to shoot.
Upon arriving at the film set, Yi Tianzhao rushed towards Shang Yechu with his enormous dark circles under his eyes. Shang Yechu was initially startled, thinking that the ratings for "Xiao Fengque" had plummeted; but upon seeing Yi Tianzhao's expression, which, though weary, was beaming with joy, she understood what was going on.
"Ye Zi," Yi Tianzhao said, holding a cup of coffee in his hand, the aroma of coffee filling the air, "the ratings for last night are out."
Shang Yechu's eyes widened: "How much?"
Yi Tianzhao gulped down a large mouthful of coffee and gasped, "I didn't sleep much last night—phew, 2.308%! Number one in its time slot. According to the 2016 movie channel ratings, this rating is in the top fifteen for the whole year."
Shang Yechu finally breathed a sigh of relief. This was quite a good result. Of course, it couldn't compare to a phenomenal hit like "Yun Qing Ji," but it was enough for Yi Tianzhao to redeem himself.
"I checked the audience feedback on Weibo, and the reviews are pretty good," Yi Tianzhao added. "There's something else. You know the movie channel has a program called 'Twenty-Four Frames Guest,' right?"
Shang Yechu nodded. CHTV6 invites stars who appeared in the week's films to report on and recommend their movies for the week. They also reveal behind-the-scenes anecdotes and interesting stories. Because early films were typically 24 frames per second, the program was called "Twenty-Four Frames Guest."
Yi Tianzhao said, "When we were working on the first part of 'Xiao Feng Que,' we were in a rush, so our film didn't get aired on 'Twenty-Four Grids of Visitors.' The second part had more time, and CTS (China Television System) wanted to let our crew air it."
"when?"
"The second season can premiere in the same week," Yi Tianzhao said. "It's still more than a month away, so there's no rush."
"Besides me, are there any other people coming along?" This was a question that Shang Yechu was more concerned about.
“I definitely have to go with you,” Yi Tianzhao thought for a moment. “There probably won’t be anyone else. You’re the only lead in this movie. Besides, the show is only half an hour long, there’s not enough time for the supporting actors.”
"I understand." Shang Yechu smiled. "I will prepare well."
Yi Tianzhao cautioned, "The movie channel has a partnership with Green Party, and they might select some of the more pointed comments from Green Party's website for you to answer. Be prepared."
Shang Yechu's smile widened: "Don't worry about that. Even if Xiao Fengque gets criticized again, will he get criticized as much as I did in my previous role?"
Yi Tianzhao smiled and said, "You've always been a reliable and good kid." Then he went off to drink his coffee and get busy.
As soon as Shang Yechu arrived at the dressing room, she received another WeChat message from Zheng Bohan. The old man got straight to the point:
[Xiao Chu, there's an interview with MyTV Films the day after tomorrow night about "The Tale of Clouds". Come with me.]
Shang Yechu typed a few words: "Aren't Su Ge and Teacher Qin going?"
Zheng Bohan replied: [Su Ge is going. Qin Tianye originally said he was going, but he said he wasn't coming just now. It'll just be the three of us.]
Before Shang Yechu could reply, Zheng Bohan sent another message: [Su Ge is rather naive and doesn't know how to keep her mouth shut. You'll have to cover for her.]
"Understood." Shang Yechu's fingers flew across the keyboard.
[Mita Films is considered part of the "Yun Qing Ji" team, so their questions won't be too pointed, but you should still be prepared.]
【I see. 】
I've already started writing the script for that spy drama; you should hurry up too.
